Let the Sleeping Dogs Die ! ! !

The Brew Crew so far is obliterating the Dodgers pitching while their pitching has shut down the Dodger attack. Not really watching, but hey seeing that 6-2 score yesterday in the top of the 9th was very nifty. Patrick Bailey is apparently putting his stamp on the Guardicles team as he cranks up the power. Yes, it’l disappear like a mirage soon, but hey, ride it while it lasts.

Brewers and Guardicles would be a cool series.

Go Milwaukee! Fuck the Dodgers.

    Morejon to Miller.

first 6 to Hill all 100+.

  2. xoot's avatar xoot says:

presumably Miller won’t be available tomorrow, as the quest for 63 continues!

70 looking out of reach. But Raffi looks to hit 40/100.

    Pretty cool

I didn’t know Barry Bonds, Tom Brady, Steve Young, Lynn Swann and Jim Fregosi all went to the same high school…

  5. unca_chuck's avatar unca_chuck says:

Lynn swans mom was my dentists receptionist.

    young didn’t go to Serra.

  6. unca_chuck's avatar unca_chuck says:

Jesse Freitas went there as well. Highly recruited out of high school he flamed out in the pros.

he was throwing to Lynn Swann

Since we’re rolling out former Serra High players don’t forget about Gregg Jeffries infielder starting out with the Mets and had a good career..

And then theirs Pitcher Dan Sarafini (sp)from Serra who pitched in the big leagues and was convicted of a double murder back in 2021 at Lake Tahoe and now is serving a life sentence!!

      Hah! Yep. Good player.

Yeah, a guy my year, Greg Funk, was drafted by Detroit out of HS in 79 but decided to go to college at the advice of his gf at the time. Great player. 3rd baseman.

2 knee surgeries in college ended that. Met up w/him a few years back, golfing, divorced from that same girl, and he was still bitter. about all of it.

yeah Kat that private school league WCAL has dominated boys and girls (who formed few years later) HS sports forever in Bay area. Even when coaches might not be best their ability to “attract” as they put it best talent sure matters.

didn’t we all see this coming? The guy wears out quickly. The shoulder falls apart, perhaps.

and right on cue, Devers to the IL.

      • Bob McMurry's avatar Bob McMurry says:

So much for the 40/100 season. And Devers probably needs core muscle surgery( those massive swings caught up with him)which if he gets it now would shelve him thru Dec but realistically ready for ST so do it!!

      • xoot's avatar xoot says:

he’s on a plane right now to see some surgeon in Philly tomorrow.

btw, wtf is fubo? Radio game for me tonight.

  9. bassbaldy's avatar bassbaldy says:

Devers? WTF? Nooooooooo! Why are we not allowed to have nice things?

  10. willedav's avatar willedav says:

Cool they called up Bandura but didn’t realize it was because of injury to Devers. Bandura is one of the players they would need to add to 40 man to avoid Rule 5. another LH OF who can run and play CF. Maybe he can make Gilbert expendable.

Giants say Devers has been fighting this “core” injury, probably also known as a sports hernia, for months. Huh? I get HIPAA, I get the privacy, I get the protection from opponent gamesmanship, yada yada. But, really? Is every star that underperforms and then is injured going to have the PR dept. say that “he’s had this for months but we kept it quiet’? Adumbass was under that scenario for his back Now Devers, who was crap for the better part of the first 2 months, then found his groove. Chapman with the same scenario. Anyway, since this team was obviously descending into oblivion 2 months ago, why did they wait so long to get Devers this surgery? Two weeks ahead of the season end isn’t much different as season end in terms of recovery time for next Spring.

Meanwhile, the team of no names is making some of these games at least competitive on occasion. Sweep the Cards and then get swept by the Pads, which looms as possible, is typical of the inconsistency of a bad team.

every vet left on the roster must be disabled

  13. snarkk's avatar snarkk says:

Uh, Webb has looked and been hammered the last several games like a guy who has run out of gas for the season. Just sit him the last two weeks, give his wing some rest. Start his off-season early. And, then give somebody else from Sac a chance to get their start(s) blasted by the oppo batters.

It still kinda blows my mind just a little bit to think about if, on opening day, we could’ve seen today’s lineup… we certainly would have wondered, what the hell happened to this season…

  15. willedav's avatar willedav says:

Baggs said in TA column Devers has been dealing with this condition for years. Giants plan is after surgery he can still be at their facility until Dec. 1 pending lockout.

  16. unca_chuck's avatar unca_chuck says:

Thought I read somewhere that a lot of the players in the world baseball classic are struggling. AI says ‘participants underperforming’.

Serafini! Yeah, forgot about him!! He was on the Giants for a hot second. Knew the family. His older brother was a few years ahead of me.

  17. willedav's avatar willedav says:

idk what happened but Arraez has fallen off cliff in Philly. slash line .283/.301/.372. 0 triples in 145 ABs (7 with SF) only 4 BBs and 0 SBs (10 with SF). seems like SF got best version of him.

  18. unca_chuck's avatar unca_chuck says:

He misses Ron Washington. Would like to get him back. But then we REALLY need to get rid of Chappaquiddick.

  19. unca_chuck's avatar unca_chuck says:

Shame about Devers. Dude was having a great season. Esp by our standards.

The question is how much pitching can they get between now and next March? They actually look like a fairly strong team with Devers, Eldridge, and Schmitt in the lineup. And we have a ton of speedy OFers, but who rises above the Mendoza?

Lee seemed to fall off a cliff when Arraez left, and Arraez fell off a cliff leaving.

One of the many catchers should be ready to go. Susac? I hope so. He looks good. Cavanaugh as well.

Pitching tho is the ? The guys we are bringing up have been middling to poor.

Birdsong? Will he even be ready? Roupp, Webb, and the Whizz? eeeeeeep.

knizner has more career HRs than anyone else on the active roster right now? Flemming says so. Wholly shit. Not surprising but hard to hear.
