! ! ! ! Can’t get any lower. Still I feel I’m sinking ! ! ! !
Outshined by Chris Cornell and Soundgarden. The theme song for your SF Giants 2026 team.
In a season full of pitching debacles and crushing losses, they managed to pull one out for the ages.
Yes, the biggest blown 9th inning league in the 125 year history of the team. They were 2,208-0 when leading by 6 or more in the 9th. Til today.
Up 9-3 in the top of the 9th, the team could not even get an out before Cincy tied it. Bivans came in and really had no clue. Not sure why whoever the interim manager even was didn’t pull him a little faster, but I think it was pretty obvious Bivens didn’t have it. He gave up the longest home run into the cove that I’ve ever seen. Then again, Smith came in and nuked the joint. And the rest was errors, walks and general rookie ball crap.
I guess the lockout is a blessing.
For Dolly . . .
The Giants grabbing Bonds and Kent relatives for their minor leagues is friggin’ laughable. No insult to these kids, but why put extra pressure on minor leaguers like that? I’ll be blunt, it’s just stupid, but in keeping with the Giants management and relentless PR machine that constantly puts PR above on-field success.
Here’s the story on this Eddys Leonard cat. He’s been in minors for 9+ years, tonight is his first sniff of the major leagues. Crazy. Only been a Giant for 2 weeks. Not on the 40 man, so I guess maybe that is why he’s up for a warm body look see.
It is incredible that this kind of situation is going on with the Giants. From 3 in 5 at the end of 2014, to just one playoff appearance since the Cubs series loss in 2016, to this bottom dwelling massive embarrassment where they are pulling guys literally in the system for 2 weeks into a starting outfield position in a real MLB game. Massive mismanagement has to be the conclusion — simply inexcusable for a franchise with so many advantages over most others.

just watched Heliot with a FC fail to bring a runner home from third. Grounder, out play at the plate. I recognize that scene!
Arreaz 2-3 single, double has knocked in 2 runs scored 1 ,batting cleanup!Harper moves to RF, Bohm 1B,Stott to 3rd to accommodate Arreaz demands to play 2B and why not he’s been nails there all year! Gawd I miss him already..
First 2 ABs for Arraez with Phils, rbi singles with couple guys on base. batting cleanup behind Schwarber Turner harper. Phils up 4-0 on Nats, playing at home.
And of course the Rangers cut the Blade into Tidwell for 2 runs on 31 pitches in the 1st!
Tidwell starting this one out a little bit rough.
First inning 32 pitches, a walk, 2 runs scored on him.
Welcome to post-trade deadline Giants baseball. Ya gotta luv these — whoever they are !
another Tennessee stud mouse. Tidwell did well to escape without giving up a ton of runs. But he could be done within three innings. Three innings, six runs. The Giants’ new quality start.
Blade was sharper vs the bottom of the order. That ranger fescue (sp) sucks.
well Tidwell has exceeded my expectations.
I’ve always liked Hunter Pence’s approach to checked swings. He looks at the body, the turn of the hips, as well as the hands. The robo swing caller won’t be so subtle.
“Z and Kapler expected to win with that approach. Buster and Tony have no such illusions.” Yes. All the churn we’ll likely see the remainder of this season isn’t for winning (probably a lot of losing, in fact), it’s for evaluation. Fine with that til season’s end, it’s all we got.
Yeah, miss Arraez. I hold out hope he’ll re-sign with SF, but I think once people go, they ain’t comin’ back. Ricky Henderson is the only one I remember doing that: allowing his team (Yankees?) to trade him at the deadline, help another team win a WS, then re-signs with his old team. Neat trick.
My guess for offseason is Giants will create a new job along the lines of “minor league talent manager” for Vitello, save some face in removing him as manager, and let Ron Washington take over for awhile….
Flemming and Pence spent a bunch of time describing how thunderously the Philly fans responded to Arraez today. And he’s playing 2B. He may appreciate his time in SF. But he’ll have many offers this winter. If only ….
Not a bad idea, Paul. Washington knows the game inside and out. V is one and done.
Big Tiddy has actually settled down ok. Our hitting is missing is usual. Still 100 thru 5.
Like this Wasabe kid!
Well how do you like that Brubaker threw nothing but strikes
It’s gonna be a long two months
Skubal with a *quality start* for LA but takes the loss against the Cubbies. Dogs’ starting pitching is insane. Which would make it all the more enjoyable to see Cubs, Phils or Brew Crew take out LA in an early round.
Yes we can only hope.
clutch knock from Eldridge off bench. tied up again.
Props to Gilbert and Mac too for getting on base ahead of him.
Yeah, good to see that. Can they actually win this game after being down after the 6th inning?? Especially after yet another silly line for a reliever (Sanmartin), 2/3rds of an inning, 3 hits and a walk leading to a run. This bullpen is ridiculously horrible.
The two most improbably successful ABs of the season by Gilbert and McCray.
Sigh.
Lee’s more upset about that than we are. Shitty way to end.
I can’t believe it’s still possible to be gut punched by this team.
