! ! ! ! Can’t get any lower. Still I feel I’m sinking ! ! ! !
Outshined by Chris Cornell and Soundgarden. The theme song for your SF Giants 2026 team.
In a season full of pitching debacles and crushing losses, they managed to pull one out for the ages.
Yes, the biggest blown 9th inning league in the 125 year history of the team. They were 2,208-0 when leading by 6 or more in the 9th. Til today.
Up 9-3 in the top of the 9th, the team could not even get an out before Cincy tied it. Bivans came in and really had no clue. Not sure why whoever the interim manager even was didn’t pull him a little faster, but I think it was pretty obvious Bivens didn’t have it. He gave up the longest home run into the cove that I’ve ever seen. Then again, Smith came in and nuked the joint. And the rest was errors, walks and general rookie ball crap.
I guess the lockout is a blessing.
For Dolly . . .
Beri bomb!
Wonders never cease. what a comeback inning.
great job Walker you only put two runners in scoring position. Thanks Tony.
Bericota Wow unbelievable 445 ft bomb π£ heβs been money these last few days!! Run from the MLB drug testers faster then Milkman Cabrera tried..
Fuck it I want power in this OF , my new Outfield is Bericota LF, Lee CF,Ramos RF
It looks like we got a real ballplayer in Bericoto that putout at second was as pretty as it gets.
We still got a lot of time to give this one away.
yes, as Cox misplays catchable ball deep to CF.
Buster and Minasian should be burning up the cell towers and text thumbs seeking a pitcher or two or more for Ramos now.
Eldridge stung that but ball held up. Since leaving ATL (3-9 with HR) he’s 1-20, with 5 BBs. See how Braves handle him second time around.
Yeah your right Winder , never too late for the BP to blow another game 6-5 now!!
our Killer Closer comes in and we pray.
buzzkill
Holding a 4-run lead is just too much to ask of this bullpen. And now they’re losing.
Nobody on this team can close. This Pen is absolute merde.
Trade Ramos for arms for this and next season.
This is absolutely ridiculous. This debacle today is not on Vitello. He played the Pen right with the guys he has been given. And, they stink and we’re not even near the Dog Days…
Do Giants pitchers know they can try to keep a runner close at first with some throw overs — that is not totally forbidden, yet. And, have the Giants ever tried a pitch out this year — or is that not happening because they throw too many walks anyway?
The pitch to Heim that he flipped past Chapman to tie it was on outside corner at the knees to LH–totally away from how D was playing him to pull. The wild pitch to move him into scoring position was bad enough, but make enough mistakes and A’s get revenge.
And, too many hit me fastballs down Broadway. They Pen guys aren’t closers, they are barely pitchers — they are throwers.
There really is no safe lead for us. i don’t think I have ever seen a BP this bad on any team. I can’t remember the 62 mets bullpen but i bet it was better than ours.
What a freaking joke our bullpen is. Shitty relievers, wild throws, etc., etc. If it isn’t one thing, it’s another. Team has a such a hard time putting together all facets of the game. They’re exhausting . . . Sort of like whack a mole.
if they drop Bericoto back to Sac after all his exploits, instead of just playing this guy until he proves he’s just a flash in the pan, the entire FO should be fired.
This team is too horrendous not to fully vet this kid and see what he can and can’t do. That arm of his is no joke. And, you don’t hit 445 foot jacks two days in a row in that yard without some talent. Keep playing Cox too, if not just for his speed. He’s a good fielder. That flub today was caused only by his unfamiliarity with the dimensions of the yard — because they hardly play him — not by bad glove talent…
Any chance at all Martial Law could take over the whole Giants Organization?
Hard to believe there’s a worse bullpen than the Giants, but the Nats might be it. They’ve been blowing late leads all week to Philly, and they had that massive collapse vs. the Giants awhile back. Maybe they’d be desperate enough to take on one of our crappy relievers?
I like your thinkinβ Mac.
Or 2 or 3….
Kinda miss that Sabean era bullpen. He unconventionally signed a few key relievers to longer contracts than relievers normally get, and between that pen and the starting rotation he put together… beautiful. Relegated the offense to being “just good enough”. Compare that to today’s rotation and ‘pen…. eek. Buster of all people should know this. Geez, maybe there just aren’t that many good relievers out there?
Before stumbling on the 2010-14 bullpen, Sabes reigned over multiple years of Vinnie Chulk, Munter, Taschner, Tyler Walker. In a nearly 20 year tenure, you’re probably going to see some ups and downs.
the risings of Wilson and Romo from the 24th and 28th rounds of the Giants’ drafts surely helped.
I’m sure they were working overtime to really nail those picks.
Buster knows that history better than anyone. I’m still surprised that he let 10th round windfall Tyler Rogers go. Wish he hadn’t.
Maybe he looked at the $$$, Rogers’ quirkiness, ties to the previous regime, and felt ok aboutΒ letting go someone he neverΒ fully bought into,Β facts and numbers be damned.
facts and numbers combined with what looks like an infinitely durable arm. Eventually, I suppose, he won’t be able to bend down so far ….
Whis on mound to start RCs game hosting Vegas right now on local Sports Channel. 80 degrees in Sac at game time.
