99 Losses or Bust

We seem to be in the holding pattern of 1 win, 2 losses as this bland flavorless season continues it’s slow march to oblivion.

Looks like the 1985 team of Jimmy Davenport is safe in the knowledge that they will continue to be the one and only 100 loss team in the 144 year history of the NY/SF Gothams/Giants.

I mean, 5 more wins out of 21 games shouldn’t be that hard. Right?

35k plus in attendance? Must be those crab sandwiches!

Easy grounder to Adames. Pfffttt! Big E per the official scorer, despite K&K saying that it was a difficult play; and equally important, right before that – praising Adames as an excellent fielder and athlete, blah, blah, blah.

Sheesh, cut the horseshit K & K – he’s been a fucking disaster for this team. Buster, you need to do something FAST! This team is going down the drain quickly. After tonight’s impending loss, they are under .400 again.

When will they have Atheist Night at the yard?

    Or Pastafarian Night?

Personally I’m into Dudeism. The Church of the Latter-Day Dude.

I like Italian food, so I am down with Pasta night.

the dude would never attend an event like that. In fact, it sounds like something that might be organized for the Little Lebowski Achievers, with Nancy, or these days, Melania presiding via video conf. And I hate the fucking Eagles, man.

Missed the last half or so and ending of the inevitable loss.

I did experience the pop up by Adames with, I think JHLee at 3rd with one down. Adames was coming up to bat as I was cutting onions for dinner, and I thought, “pop up”. Sure enough, swinging on first pitch, another Adames pop up and JHLee can’t score. He ended up stranded. No crying for that or the onions.

Adames is a friggin’ bust, that cannot be denied. There was also some terrible defense going on while I was listening, but I don’t remember exactly what it was. It cost them at least a run, but that’s nothing new. Boy Howdy is this team terrible.

When is Buster going to make some moves?…

Had to check standings. Giants back to 15 games underwater.

Tied with KC for 2nd worst record in MLB. Just above the Rockies. Eldridge’s walk -off heroics are disappearing in the rear-view. He’s the only thing worth paying attention to…

Now and then they have a great game or two and look like they’ve turned the proverbial corner?, maybe? … But with this team, it’s 2 steps forward and 3 steps back. That ain’t gonna do it. Doubtful they’ll turn it around for this year, but they certainly can be putting the pieces together for next and next and next year…. Yes, Buster, that means making some bold moves, again….

After 2 years battling 2 shoulder injuries former 2 way pitcher/ hitter like Bryce Eldridge 1st Rd pick in 2022 Reggie Crawford is back playing in Arizona Complex League and hit a HR Friday.
Long ramp up ahead and he will only be a hitter now like Eldridge.Good luck Reggie stay healthy!!

Latest Vitello Dart Throw LU for today..Webb on the Bump..

    1. Chapman 3B
    2. Arreaz 2B
    3. Eldridge 1B
    4. Devers DH
    5. Schmitt LF
    6. Adames SS
    7. Lee RF
    8. Susac C
    9. Gilbert CF

  11. xoot's avatar xoot says:

Schmitt with a slick sliding catch on the OF grass! Guy works his ass off to stay in the LU, that’s for sure.

  12. willedav's avatar willedav says:

Schmitt slump continues. He and Lee have similar OPS just above .800 however Lee gets on base quite a bit more often. Schmitt’s 15 HRs therefore have a cost–he’s made about 20 more outs in similar amount of plate appearances and only has 7 BBs all year.

  13. xoot's avatar xoot says:

big bomb from Chapman. Maybe he’ll work out in the lead off today.

  14. blade3colorado's avatar blade3colorado says:

If Ramos comes back, I want them to either “ease” him into the lineup (pinch hit) or do this:

    A. Schmitt deserves to start, i.e., I could give 2 shits if he is slumping right now. He has been mostly awesome all year. So, in my mind – Adames, whom hasn’t done jack all season, goes to the bench and Schmitt starts at SS; or,

    B. if the team wants to placate the fragile ego of Adames and continue to shovel money into his bank account, let him play SS, but let Schmitt continue to play left, with Ramos as the reserve.

    • alleykat69's avatar alleykat69 says:

Blade..V will never bench Adames it’s just the reality with that asinine contract unfortunately..

But I’m all in with Ramos Fizz getting back soon, he was somewhat on fire when he got hurt and yeah he’s like most Giants that K a lot but he’s got power when he connects are hits ball to right a lot also..

Nothing wrong with Schmitt in LF,Lee back in CF,and Ramos in RF, 2 strong arms on the corners is nice..

      • blade3colorado's avatar blade3colorado says:

Yeah, of course I know that. Giants need to grow a pair before that ever happens. Just tired of watching him batting in the middle of the order and FAILING.

  15. alleykat69's avatar alleykat69 says:

Can always count on Adames to kill a base loaded 2-0 count and weakly hitting to SS to end the inning with RISP ,gawd damm he’s in a 1-26 and hitting 6th???

  16. willedav's avatar willedav says:

Great outing through 6 for Webb. 5 baserunners in 22 guys faced. 0 BBs 59 strikes in 86 pitches per mlb.com. Lesson for Roupp McD and all the yutes on how to survive and thrive.

  17. xoot's avatar xoot says:

Webb fucked around and ruined the start of this season with the wbc. Recuperated and rested now, he looks pretty good.

  18. blade3colorado's avatar blade3colorado says:

What a little league type fuck up by Cox. Giants and fundamentals?!?!?

  19. blade3colorado's avatar blade3colorado says:

Fucking Cox must be taking tips from Adames.

  20. snarkk's avatar snarkk says:

Just more baserruning jackassery by the Giants, now by Cox.

Where are the coaches? Do they not tell a PRer how many outs just to make sure the player has been paying attention? Why wouldn’t Pettis just say that to Cox as he goes in? Maybe he did? If there is a worse base running team in MLB, I’d like to know which one it is.

Now a throw gets away and the Cubs run scores — a gift. When will this comedy ever end?
