99 Losses or Bust
We seem to be in the holding pattern of 1 win, 2 losses as this bland flavorless season continues it’s slow march to oblivion.
Looks like the 1985 team of Jimmy Davenport is safe in the knowledge that they will continue to be the one and only 100 loss team in the 144 year history of the NY/SF Gothams/Giants.
I mean, 5 more wins out of 21 games shouldn’t be that hard. Right?
Hey coach. Think he’s done? Naah, he’s fine. 3 walks, a WP, a base hit.
Bring it on.
Another marvelous job of managing by V
You spelled mangling wrong.
Brought in Smith too late. Again.
We hit grannies
We win
Mac said we used our allotment of grand slams for the season already.
Kennedy?!?!?!?
Oh well. I’ll eat me hat he gets a hit.
Your hat is now safe for use with another chump Giants PH …
Kuiper with the perfect call, Giants leave them loaded what’s new!!
Buddy Kennedy? Never heard of the guy until he came up. OPS for the season at Sac well over .900, but. He’s 27, and his career looks like a very very AAAA guy. He comes in to PH with bases juiced and 2 down? What about Haase? He’s a slam artist — he can play outfield for Gilbert. At least Buddy hit it hard in making the out.
I assume Buddy’s gone when Ramos gets healthy, but these days, who knows? Doesn’t much matter, actually.
Kuip alluded to the Giants LOB . . . Then the camera scanned to the scoreboard, specifically on the number 13. That’s pathetic.
25 LOB the last two games, yeesh.
Yeah, it’s disgusting Mac.
I had fleeting hope for a rare 1-2-3 from Beck after the second out, but no, of course not. Chapman with another error, naturally followed by a triple (misplay by JH Lee?) and the error runner plates for the 6th run. Ho hum — sheezus this team stinks.
The banality of evil — we’ve heard that — how about the banality of the Giants losing?…
Eldridge!
MOVE HIM TO 4TH IN THE LINEUP!
Nah. Makes too much sense.
Might pressure his poor little 6′ 7″ psyche too much…
lol
he has such a great swing.
Yeah Haase probably the best option to hit guess they didn’t want t burn a catcher if they rallied lol.Thing is what do you have to use 2 guys that should not be up here at all in Kennedy&Bertcino with 1 hit by Bertie ( though granted it was a GW HR 200 avg Kennedy a goose egg
Hey Bryce going yard !!Dead Center Cut!!
Lee took a bad route it looked like.
At least they are leaving Eldridge in.
Hey coach, how about the kid in the 4-hole instead of the rally killing K machine?
Eldridge is a life raft of interest in this maelstrom of losing.
Double and two walks tonight, the kid definitely has a batter’s eye. Then, he rips that shot over the wall in center. Batting average .292 before that dinger. He might have a shot at ROY is he gears up and rakes. Stretrch got ROK after playing only about half a season…
And in the end another predictable loss as they now lose the series..As Loo says ..I hate this fuckin team!!
Please, please, please Estes – key on Vitello’s line ups! Specifically Adames batting 4th and Devers 2.
If we stick somehow with paying some attention to this team the rest of this lost season, the only way to do that IMO is we gotta look for the gems in this field of turds. Eldridge growing into a dangerous major leaguer, obviously. Schmitt hopefully continues his evolution into a real player. After that, I dunno. Maybe a gem or two will show up along the way. McDonald develops into a #3? Fox plays himself into a find? Oy, it’s looking a bit bleak …
Vitello is not helping with the LU. Why was he tough with Chapman, putting him as low as 8th in the LU at one point, but conversely, sticking with the “black hole of Calcutta” Adames 4th in the LU? Adames is feast or famine.
Then, as Unc alluded to – he puts in his College all star, Gilbert in for Cox, whom had a triple tonight and plays as good or better CF as Gilbert. Besides, we know what Gilbert can do already . . . Not much.
Edit: Lee is another bat that should be higher up in the LU then 5th, which is normally slotted for someone with power and capability to knock in runs.
Giants OF is a disaster area for productive offense. JHLee is striping it well, no doubt, but he’s not a power guy. He hits like an infielder. Should be always in top 3 of the LU order somewhere. OF guys generally hit for power, hit for HRs, doubles, triples and drive in a ton. JH Lee is a slap hitter.
Yeah, Gilbert if OH for Forever against LHPs — a joke…
Roupp looks pretty good
Schmitt, Adames, Devers.
0 – 13 tonight. 2 BBs. 5 Ks.
Sweet…
