You don’t win the Super Bowl in August, but apparently you can lose it then, to re-coin an old baseball adage.
The 49ers injury carousel is spinning wildly as Keadon Black and Mike Evans have both missed practices, both with muscle strains. Evans’ quad strain could be a 3 month deal, and Black’s adductor the same.
Yay!
Pearsall is out for the year as we know, and Mikail Kamara was cut after blowing out his knee. Christian Kirk has a calf injury.
ALL these injuries are nom-contact injuries. What is the fucking deal? Are they starting out too fast? If so, how many fucked up seasons do they have to endure before they understand that maybe pushing it from day one isn’t such a good idea?
They’ve wasted so many seasons with injuries it defies belief.
Yeah chuck I don’t even know what to think anymore. I guess everyone we draft has soft spots and we find em right away.
Yeah it’s fucking out of control as usual every season they can’t get it going with injuries! Black abductors muscle,Evans tight quad, Stribling, tight hamstring? Height was out dehydrated? It’s not the staff is totally pushing them they were off last Thursday? And light workouts without pads sometimes it’s just for sure the most injured team in football always! Maybe Winders right that they draft soft players.Fuck I don’t know, well atleast theirs time to get these guys healthy Including Shanahan ?????
A lot of players have said they go real hard real fast in practice. From the start.
I’ve also heard that y they don’t pay enough attention to pre-practice warm-ups but that one may just be idle talk.
All I know is that this team in 7 of the past 9 seasons under Shanahan has been in the top 5 for injuries.
Key Training Camp Injuries:
All this injury stuff every year defies the media excuse that it’s just “bad luck”. You don’t have bad luck every year, because if it happens repeatedly over time, and you have the highest “playing time lost due to injury” statistic over a long period of years, luck has nothing to do with it.
Yeah, we’ll never really know what goes on but the little bits that come out of camp are that they seem to want to push the players from the get-go.
And they don’t pay enough attention to pre-game or pre-practice stretching and warming up.
Or it could be nonsense, but there’s something fucking wrong here.
Breaking News i guess..Niners are signing Obgo Okronoko Rams,Texans,Eagles DE/LB for atleast depth on a depleted DL atleast he’s healthy for now until he gets to close to the substation!
Wondering why they can’t practice inside Levi but I guess it’s lawn preservation for game days, concerts, etc just don’t want to trash the field..Think most NFL teams do this?
The practice field is right next door. It’s grass.
Maiocco said he noticed the twam greatly increased stretching before practice, they also changed how many consecutive days they practice hard and added a walk through rest day. As far as I can tell its made zero difference.
Good to hear?
20 players on injury report as of now. Plus coach.
Weeeeeeee!
Yeah and we still have two inter-squad practices to do yet. Unfuckingbelievable.
joint practices not inter-squad.
23 when you include the PUPs. Supposedly they are minor and we are being super careful. “Even I’m surprised at this point,” the Electrical Substation parody wrote on its official X account after the latest round of injuries were announced.
But we did sign Kion Smith, 6’5″ 300 lb OG from Miami. That makes me happy.
Saw a pic in Chron of Roger Craig, headed to HOF induction, with 2 of his sons. I coached basketball games vs. daughter (at 2 different schools) Rometra who wound up playing D1 ball at Duke then USC after transferring from Menlo School to powerhouse Archbishop Mitty. She has masters degree and has been a fitness biz leader, yet no mention…hmmnn
I am glad Craig made it this year he was one of the unsung hero’s of Walsh’s WCO. It drove defenses mad for years. Both SD and us used a lot of TE that fooled a lot of D’s also.
When you have Kellen WInslow . . .
Great great TE. Saw a few of his games with Fouts.
Shanahan philosophy of full go practice to blame. Warner broke a teammates ribs and had to be separated from CMC after 2 hard hits. Crazy!
Went to this game. it was incredible. All passing, little running, both defenses were overmatched.

All those names
Here’s the whole game. Late pick by Joe sealed the game for SD
Roger Craig was on stage but did not speak live at his enshrinement ceremony at the HOF. They played a tape of him speaking, in which he talks about the dementia. You can easily find the tape on YouTube. Very sorry to hear the dementia news. Being a running back in his era was a recipe for later life health disaster. I think it still is. If I were CMC, I would give it up after this season to limit the long term damage.
Wow. After reading all that stuff in the chron, Xoot posted this . . .
So sad to hear.

Yeah i think that is this.
