Wow – There’s Losses and There’s That

I’d have to go back to 1977 to come up with a game that was blown so spectacularly. Or even the 1957 Western Conference playoff game. Or those Super Bowls. Or NFC Championship games. Or worst ever. This one was special because there was only a select few ways to actually cough that one up.

And of course we did.

This should result in some major changes to the coaching staff as special teams and the defense were severely lacking today. Shanahan for his part called one of his better games. I didn’t like the run on the goal line, it should have been the Juice push, but the rest was enough to win.

And fuck Ronnie Bell. Cut his ass tomorrow. Moody is just flat not trustable. Control the game for 59 minutes and 59 seconds. And lose.

Sigh.

Partially torn tricep injury is Hargrave’s injury out for the season!! Fuck NFL is taking major hits with all clubs this year!Niners avoided the injury bug last year but it caught up to them this year…

Heard Hargrave had something going on. Didn’t know it was season-ending. Jesus

On top of all that, we are the talk of the NFL these last two weeks for all the wrong reasons.

Juaun Jennings putting up Jerry Rice stats last seen by the GOAT in 1995. I had a feeling Jennings would shine given an opportunity, him and Purdy were a silver lining in an otherwise God awful game they had no business losing.

This year’s team is complacent, not hungry. With the injuries and the general malaise it could go either way for the year by week 4.

Ronnie Bell is at less than 50% on career catches, have they seen enough yet? Give Cowing and opportunity.

Better light a fire before Sunday.

If we can’t beat the Pats at home, we are dog meat.

Jaylen Daniels putting ofn a fucking show. Holy shit. Their last drive took half the 4th quarter.

21-23 254 and 2 TDs. Cincy about to be 0-3. Like the Rams should be.

They won’t go anywhere. But we have a lot of work to do and a lot to fix.

Any team at 1-2 are still in the hunt for playoffs including the Rams any team 0-3 are done. It’s the Seahawks at 3-0 and a 2 game lead the biggest concern for sure in the NFC West..

  5. alleykat69's avatar alleykat69 says:

What a game by Jayden Daniels 21-23 93% and made every big play when needed in Bengals house no less for a desperate Bengals team now 0-3 and are cooked!Only the 1998 Bills team made the playoffs. And also shout out to WR Scary Terry McLaurin a class act dude that has gone thru so many QB’s,OC’s in his career he deserves so much better!

17 game season, anything can happen.

Something that shows up way too often is the Niners giving up a 2 score lead in the 4th quarter and that’s been regardless of who the D coordinator has been.

The D has a nasty habit of allowing the deep pass which is unforgiveable when you have a 2 score lead late in the game.

Kyle’s late game time management and playcalling have always been a bit suspect, not only with the Niners.

As for special teams it’s been bad and now it’s an utter disaster.

One more poor performance from ST and I believe Kyle needs to make a coaching change. I think it’s too soon to evaluate Sorenson but that clock has started ticking.

I also think it’s time to bench a player or 2 and take a risk on the rookies. Whether Kyle believes they are fully ready or not, some of the current players are losing games (Bell, Campbell) and next week is a must win game.

Need I mention the gift he gave to Belichick in the SB with a commanding lead?

He just goes conservative and often fails to play keep away when it matters most.

  8. alleykat69's avatar alleykat69 says:

Shanahan is so stubborn,he doesn’t believe in rookies playing, so he gives Bell 30 snaps since he’s been with the team 2 years now and he can’t catch a ball even tossed to him on the sideline.Cowing gets no plays cause he’s still learning the system.Wtf?? Is the same thing going to happen with Pearsall when he gets back? You draft 2 potential playmakers and you go with Ronnie “Cement Hands”Bell in crunch time?

    • 12th Man's avatar 12th Man says:

Exactly right Kat, if Puka Nacua played for the Niners he might be still on the bench!

Take the risk with the rookie because the guy he’s playing hasnt been any good, for 2 years!

Here’s something I came across today.

Brock Purdy has the most games with a 130 or more QB rating in his first 3 years in NFL history.

Now QB ratings haven’t been around all that long comparitively but even so there are so many QB’s in that era like Mahomes, Allen, Burrows and on and on.

At some point this kid needs to be given some props. He doesn’t have the physical talent of more than half the leagues QB’s but his mental ability may well be top of the league.

Tough to say but he’s been wildly successful and I’m not adding ” for a late pick”, he’s been wildly successful period.

Shades of TB12 in your analysis 12th huh?

Let’s hope he’s capable of staying in that conversation for a long time.

Yeah very similar traits Chuck, Brady had a little more arm but nothing crazy.

  11. alleykat69's avatar alleykat69 says:

I was amazed by Purdy’s pocket presence when a play broke down he ran around Twice ( once for like 12 seconds)to get a play off either running 10/41 yards are a pass completion not to Bell of course..

He will never be compared to running QB’s like Jackson,Allen,Hurts& now Daniels but he’s still nimble enough to make plays..

The DC needs to go to a 5 man front. There is no way that Sam should have got off that 90 yard pass. From the end zone no less.
