Yippie. I guess. Last time they did this it was on Market St. 6 blocks from where I worked. When I was working in an office. Crazy security. You could count up to 10 guys stationed on top of the buildings going down market to the Ferry building. nd it was only 40 miles away from the stadium.
Odd.
But whatevs. For all the stink Santa Clara raised about the stadium, they’ll gladly take all that NFL money to the bank. Wonder how the package deals work out, though. Do they stay in SF up until game day? It may be since all the pregame BS in up there. Shit, I just hope we are one of the teams playing.
Anyhow, the story line of “everyone in the building hates Trey Lance” seems to have morphed into “Trey Lance has made huge strides practicing with Patrick Mahomes.” Yeah, and I have land on the moon for sale. We used to hear how great Alex Smith was at throwing deep passes every fucking offseason yet neither Nolan, Singletary, or Harbaugh ever tried.
Thing is, all signs are pointing to Purdy being on schedule with his rehab. I guess. I really want the powers that be to slow-roll Purdy’s recovery. Mainly to give Lance a real shot at running the team. Passing, I mean. None of this RPO shit that will get him killed. Said it before and I’ll say it again. Pete Carroll played it right with Russell Wilson. He made him a pocket passer that could escape trouble and use his speed to elude pass rushers and get big chunks of yards. Because his WRs were on mid to deep routes ALL THE TIME. This opened up the flats and the edges of the defense and gave the 49ers fits for 10 years.
This is how Shanahan HAS to play it. End of story. Sure, he can have a check-down in CMC, or even Kittle at times, but the offense NEEDS to be built around a strong passing game. Not the RPO crowd-the-line bullshit. Open this up and let Lance do his thing.
Form today’s OTA
I can’t tell a fucking thing with that. I am all for Lance to make it if he can throw the long ball accurately and consistently he will probably start a few games at least. I like purdy because he got game and to me that confidence shows on the field. I would like to see what Darnold can do in this offense. When it comes down to it I don’t care who starts as long as we win.
If we can avoid injuries I honestly think we have one of the better Niner teams we have ever had.
It’s all about the playoffs. This team HAS to start fast and keep shit rolling. These early season fuckups are killing us. This team needs to stomp on some throats and just steamroll the west and the rest.
But, as usual, it all leads to the quarterback.
I have a lot more faith in the offense what with CMC on the team, some solid WRs now, and a run game that is legit. Would love to see Gray do something, but that might be asking too much.
yeah from what I understand is that Grey doesn’t block very well and that means limited field time. That is what happens to all the speedsters we’ve had since Shanny took over. If you are a WR on this team you have to block well.
And before that, we NEVER ran deep routes. Going all the way back to Mooch.
The new throwing motion will make him more accurate, plus he can wait a little longer cut the ball loose since it will come out quicker.
Hmmm. Looked to the video a couple times, and it does look like he’s throwing a lot more over the top rather than the 3/4 sidearm throws earlier. Is the ball getting out quicker? Could be. I always heard “get close to your ear hole”.
And yeah, that’s a good thing. Like I keep saying, I hope he gets another chance to run with the 1st team in a few games before Purdy comes back.
Looking at this from a couple years ago, he sure seems to bring the ball way down by his hip before he circles it around to throw. If anything, he doesn’t being the ball down nearly as low. Oh, yeah. Fuck the NFL. Click the link to watch on Youtube.
And for funzies, here’s the 2012 NFC Championship game. It popped up after the other vid.
Kaepernick looked so good for a little while. He’s checking down, we’re throwing medium deep, his runs are mainly off passing plays where people are either covered or there’s a protection breakdown, it all was clicking.
Jimmy G another surgery on his left foot and will miss all of OTA’s guess he had the surgery in March just after he signed with the Raiders good work medical staff) WTF Dumbass Raiders got fleeced again, sure glad he’s their problem now then are’s.Mr.Glass is just to injury prone to be effective anymore..
Jeeez. Jimmy G gets another surgery. Crazy. He’s got nothing on Crystal Todd Shell.
Once again, though, Jimmy G waits unnecessarily long to get the surgery done. He broke his foot December 4th. The Niners season ended January 29th. Why wait until March? And keep it under wraps?
I guess the reason is $$$$$$$$. Disclose another injury before signing him, and bye bye dollars.
More ineptitude from the raiders, I suppose. Mainly because I think Carr is a better QB than Jimmy G. If the Raiders had ANY kind of defense (who needs Khalil Mack?) they’d have won with Carr.
Apparently the Raiders knew about the surgery and still signed him.
I started watching some Giants games again. I’ve seen over a half dozen games now. This is a talented team. They have gloves, bats and depth at every position. The starting pitching s suspect. If the pitching holds up, this should be a playoff team.
Unfortunately, the manager manages by statistics. At least he isn’t switching out players as often as last year, so he has improved a little. I would consider it a failure if this teams not in the playoffs. A failure by management and Farmhand Zaidi for not acquiring another decent pitcher via trade. How is Harrison doing in the minors?
IRing Stripling is the best move they made . . . Wade has been a big surprise at 1st. Especially defensively. He and Conforto (and Estrada) are hitting very well. Just got to get Haniger going.
Pitching seems to be settling down after a terrible start by the pen.
Wade leads the majors in on-base % at .430.
Giants putting up a football score. 14-1.
We needed a game like that.
They are playing the young guys! Bailey, Wisely, Schmitt all hit well. And of course JD Davis and Haniger.
Don’t know exactly what it is but I think the kids are having too much fun and the rest of the guys want to join in. 3 straight in Brewer land. impressive
Yeah Winder the Giants really got a boost with the rooks Schmitt &Bailey as the team has started to take off! The farm system wasn’t to good last year but this year so much better.
A nice mix of veterans,Conforto,Haniger( coming on after a slow start due to oblique/and Montezuma Revenge ) JD Davis been solid,Wade and Estrada phenomenal playing. And now the pitching staff/BP are playing well also overall!
So evidently the Raiders knew about Jimmy G surgery when he signed he signed his 3/72.75 M deal and Jimmy signed an injury waiver in his contract.
QB’s contract could be terminated for any reason related to wavier..
Well Jimmy seems to come back from injury OK so theres that. Whether he can stay uninjured is the point
