For funzies, let’s take a look at last year’s draft.
Round 2 (No. 61 overall) – Drake Jackson, LB/DE, USC
Round 3 (93) – Ty Davis-Price, RB, LSU
Round 3 (105, special compensatory) – Danny Gray, WR, SMU
Round 4 (134) – Spencer Burford, OT, Texas-San Antonio
Round 5 (172) – Samuel Womack, CB, Toledo
Round 6 (187, from Broncos) – Nick Zakelj, OT, Fordham
Round 6 (220, compensatory) – Kalia Davis, DT, UCF
Round 6 (221, compensatory) – Tariq Castro-Fields, CB, Penn State
Round 7 (262, compensatory) – Brock Purdy, QB, Iowa State
Jackson? Meh. Showed flashes at times. But D linemen not named Nick Bosa usually take a year or 2 to get comfortable in the NFL so he’s not toast. Yet.
Davis-Price? Another useless 3rd round waste RB pick that will do little to nothing.
Gray? A doghouse denizen. No idea what he brings.
Burford? Turned into a bona fide starter.
Womack played fine for where he was drafted. Special teams standout.
Davis and Zakelj are still on the team.
Brock Purdy? Gee, not sure about him.
But stop me if you heard this before. Top picks bad. Bottom picks good. And the very bottom turned out pretty good, eh?
Here are the OOFDAs
Tay Martin, WR, Oklahoma State – 6’3″/186
Segun Olubi, LB, San Diego State – 6’2″/220
Jason Poe, OL, Mercer
Leon O’Neal, S, Texas A&M – 6’1″/210
Taysir Mack, WR, Pittsburgh – 6’2:/190
Dohnovan West, C, Arizona State – 6’4″/300
Kevin Atkins, DT, Fresno State
Qwuantrezz knight, CB, UCLA
Sam Schlueter, OL, Minnesota
Jeremiah Gemmel, LB, UNC
Taylor Hawkins, DB, San Diego State
Jordan Mason, RB, Georgia Tech
Poe, Hawkins, and Knight are still on the team, Olubi is on the Commanders, O’Neal is in Canada, Mack is out of football, West, Gemmel, and Atkins are in the XFL, Scheluter is on the Jets.
Mason of course was the prize of this OOFDA group. He’s a stud runner who a lot of us were high on. And he flew past TDP on the depth chart.
Uff da I more certain than ever that a majority of sports expurts are full of shit.
Not really sure how good our draft was but I see a lot of potential. If nothing else our special teams will have a makeover this year. I think with Laborn we have another RB in our UDFA’s that will be a big contributor this year.
If I was as bad at my job as these scribes are, I’d have been fired 30 years ago.

You have to be kidding me!!!
This guy does not have mush faith in either Purdy or Lance

I wouldn’t worry about Lance or Purdy. Purdy has proven his worth and Lance still has the potential to shine. Darnold might do fine in our system and should be a good insurance policy. There is so much bullcrap floating around out there. I am gonna believe Lynch when he says Lance is part of this years team.
Yeah, I’m with Winder. All these reports and accounts of Darnoldd winning the starting job, Lance being traded, andf the team is disappointed with him are all worth the ether they’ve been posted on.
Nothing is happening. Are they listening to trade offers?
Sure.
But they are: “Here’s a late 3rd, a late 4th, and a bag of footballs.”
There is NO WAY Lance gets traded without getting meaningful playing time. The whole thing is a big albatross around the front office’s neck, and they aren’t going to cut their losses at this point. Even if he sucks in camp and gets demoted behind Darnold (doubtful), he will still get playing time.
One of the first bands I got into as a kid. My first Day on the Green was Chicago/Beach Boys. Terry Kath was amazing. Great show,
I saw them at the Fillmore. They opened up for Santana and Big Brother. They were pretty good.
Damn. Missed Jim, Janis, and Jim Morrison by a few years. First concert was 1974.
Didn’t realize it was lip synched. still like the music though.
Every once in a while Spotify reminds me of someone I haven’t thought about in ages.
This is one of them.
Happy Birthday Trey Lance!
You will be the man leading this explosive offense so don’t worry about the haters I have confidence in you!
I really like that draft pick LB Dee Winters could be a real steal,he’s fast 4.49 speed a sure tackler 14 tackles for losses last year plus a pick 6 against Michigan.Alittle undersized at 6’0 237lbs but should still fill out. Could push for playing time over Oren Burks and others for that OLB position next to Warner &Greenlaw if anything a great depth piece
