Here We GO!!! NFCCG or Bust!

This is looking a little tougher than I originally thought, but I still think we have the horse to get this done. Philly in their house will not be easy, but first things first. The Cowboys have a short week and a day of travel to deal with. We are rested and ready.

That being said, this team needs to start faster than they have recently. The last few games have been slow starts followed by better play. The Niners need to get on top of these guys early to force the action and make them play catch-up.

As usual, it is about the pass rush. Dallas did a lot of quick passes against the Bucs and that looks like the best way to thwart our pass rush. The DBs are in for a challenge as they have been getting a little burnt around the edges lately. But those longer plays need to be stopped by getting in Dak’s face and hurrying his passes.

The offense took a little bit, but if we can come out clicking, we should be able to draw blood first. The team is hopefully not gonna come out slow and caught unawares like Seattle and the Raiders. Purdy has a solid grtasp of how to move the ball. The run game would really help the cause.

Yeah, this one seemed to take forever to get here. Go Niners

Thank god that Maher continues with the yips atleast.I believe with the last regular season game and now it’s been 6 straight missed extra points!

  4. Irish Kevin says:

    Thank you Robbie

  5. Irish Kevin says:

Wow they really don’t trust their FG kicker, helps the Niners as long as the Niners stop them on 4 th down

  6. Irish Kevin says:

    Fuck!!

  7. Irish Kevin says:

The Defense gives it away and then takes it back

  8. Irish Kevin says:

Kyle is reverting to pre Purdy, being to conservative

  9. Irish Kevin says:

    Kyle needs to pass first

McCloud just made up for his muffed punt he should have fair catched into a 51 yard kickoff return! Damm no points out of it, that’s depressing!

  11. Irish Kevin says:

That was a battle, I still say Kyle was playing not to lose. I don’t know what the stats say but to me there is just as much of a chance of a fumble as there is an interception.

Purdy made no TD throws, but he made no mistakes.
That’s critical in these big games.
Let the D lead the way, and let the offense wear down the opposition in the second half. Onto Philly. That is doable…

  13. Winder says:

They came to play. Tough game. See ya Dallas

How long does it take to grow fingernails back?

No shit. What annoyed me was Shanahan letting 17 seconds run off at the end of the 2nd quarter. We were getting in position to score a TD and instead nearly blew the FG shot. Wish I could have seen the coverages better. Dallas really seemed to take away a lot of our passing game.

  16. Irish Kevin says:

And I posted he is playing not to lose

  17. Winder says:

We should play like our motto ‘all gas no brakes.’ We have the ability to attack and we should never stop attacking as long as we stay healthy. We won that game cause we didn’t turn the ball over. Purdy played a hell of a game.

I had no problem with the what the game plan went until that 2nd quarter time waste. The Niners definitely needed those 3rd and 4th quarter runs to get to the end zone. It took a long time to establish the run but once it got going, we got into the end zone.

But Shanahan HAS to fucking realize that playing to not give the opposition opportunities is playing to lose. If that last play takes one more second, I’m not sure we win the game.

Dallas was taking all our short passing game away all game, so I was happy to see him stick to the run. We burned a lot of clock and were able to keep Dallas off the field and out of the end zone. All the more reason to keep the pressure on late in the 2nd quarter.

Still and all, a solid game. This team is gonna need a lot more points next week I fear.

Shanny can’t rest on his defense forever. And the pass rush needs to improve. I felt we didn’t blitz enough early enough. Dak did us a couple huge favors. Even th0ugh they only got us 6 points.
