These bye weeks are just a little bit bluer, but hey, the team needs this break. It comes at a great time where attrition is the name of the game in the NFL and we have a boatload of players on the IR.
The good news is Deebo Samuel, Elijah Mitchell, and Kyle Juicechick will be back for the Chargers game. Trent Williams is getting a much-needed break to healthy up, and Colton McKivitz is ready to step in and replace an inconsistent Mike McGlinchey. The big surprise on the line as of now is the play of Aaron Banks, He has blocked well for the run and has not given up a sack. Kudos to him.
Can’t seem to find anything recent on Greenlaw and Armstead, but getting those 2 guys back will be huge. The defense has struggled mightily on screen passes and delays without Greenlaw’s speed, and Armstead’s presence in the interior cannot be understated. Jason Verrett should be healthy (?!?) and if he is, it’ll be a good thing. Emanuel Moseley isn’t coming back, so it would be nice to have Verrett playing well. That, of course is a long-shot, but we will see.
The D did a great job of adjusting their game plan last week at half time vs the Rams when the LBs played up closer to the line, and Ryans blitzed to rattle Stafford. They took Kupp out of the game and shut out the Rams in the 2nd half. And hey, we scored in the 4th quarter!! Kudos to Kyle for using the new weapon and closing a game the right way.
As far as the game go, the most important ones are of course the Seahawks @ Cardinals, and the Rams @ Tampa Bay.
A win by Pete Carroll’s crew would put the 49ers 1.5 game back from Seattle, and the Cards would be a distant 3-6. The oppo of course would simply tighten up an already tight division. We’d be 0.5 back, and AZ would be 0.5 behind us.
Then there’s the Rams @ Tampa Bay. Both teams are struggling mightily. Brady has never been 3-5, at least not that I can remember, but whoever loses is really behind the 8 ball in reaching the playoffs.
Other than those games, the morning game to watch (hello Streameast) is Robert Saleh’s upstart Jets taking on the high flying Bills. Despite the 5-3 record, there is rumbling around the Meadowlands that Zack Wilson is not quite making it as the elite guy he’s supposed to be.

If Trey Lance had put up these numbers this season (we will never know but you’d think he’d do better than that), the howling would be incessant. And this is Wilson’s 2nd year.
These numbers are pretty awful no matter how you slice it. To add a little more fuel to the fire, Robert Saleh demoted Joe Flacco and promoted Mike White to the #2 QB for the rest of the season to give him “the opportunity there” according to Saleh.
San Francisco 49ers Forever 
Ooops. As far as the bluster part goes, we play a LOT of middling teams down the stretch, have a 3-0 division record, and look to get back some consistency with the health of the team, especially the offense, on the rise. CMC has a great stretch of days to really learn the offense, and him with Deebo and the other weapons, this team should start to score some points.
7-2 down the stretch isn’t a bridge too far. Beat Seattle and we should take the division. 11-6 won’t get us the bye but it would put us in 1st in the West.
This team WILL go as far as the offense can take it. We have the weapons, we have the talent. Hopefully Kyle is coming up with some good stuff for the 2nd half. I’m gonna give him a little break about all the stupid penalties and shit because of the tons of injuries and backups playing. For now.
Even with players coming back IIRC we don’t do so well after the bye. But we do have the momentum to build a great 2nd half of the season, We shall see, I still take nothing for granted with this team. I hope Saleh can handle the Bills today. Jets stadium will be rockin if they do.

There are SO MANY teams just doing stupid shit all over the place. Up to and including us. I assume it has something to do with the abbreviated practices, less preseason games, and not nearly as much full contact practices, but this is November for fuck’s sake and you still multiple false starts, illegal motions, offsides, and just stupid penalties, guys snapping over QBs heads, holding aon every fucking play. On and on.
And it sure looks to me that the refs have been told to swallow their whistles on holding calls unless blatantly obvious. Got to keep the offenses rolling.
Watching KC and I am sorry but Kyle is nowhere near Andy Reid’s play calling, and I love the way Mahomes plays. Kyle did a terrible thing to Trey
Yeah, my biggest beef with Shanny is in no case did I hear anything about the 49ers going read-option. Shanahan praised Lance’s ability playing a pro-style play-action offense.
So naturally he uses him completely differently than he said he would. He even said last year that he wouldn’t put him into harm’s way as an inside runner. He did, and it got Lance hurt.
The NFLPA should really be raising a stink about this.
In team news:
The practice window is now open for Elijah Mitchell, Colton McKivitz and Azeez Al-Shaair. Each player went to the IR due to a knee injuries.
Mitchell has been out since game 1 against the Chicago Bears. Al-Shaair was sidelined Week 3, and McKivitz got hurt starting for Trent Williams at left tackle against the Los Angeles Rams Week 4.
Also, the 49ers signed wide receiver Tajae Sharpe to the practice squad and released TE Troy Fumagalli.
Mitchell has to be able to stay on the field we can’t count on CmC to do it all.
Yeah, that is true of Deebo as well. This whole crew is shakey. DeVondre campbell is right. The owners need to get off the schnied regarding fake grass. They are ruining the product by skimping out on the firld of play.
Maybe when enough players talk about it something might get done. Other than that maybe if players refuse to sign FA contracts with a team that uses the artificial stuff might work.

Aiyuk is quietly having a strong year. Always liked him. Yeah, we sit at the point in the season where we can make a decent run and take the West. Just wrote a new thread about it.
