Week 7 – Feeling a Little Hoarse

Sorry. Anyhow, the injury parade rolls along even during the bye week as Trent Williams and Javon (damaged goods) Kinlaw will miss tomorrow’s game against the Colts. Kinlaw’s knee tendonitis was known before he was drafted and it is why some teams shied away from him in the draft. And his predecessor DeFoBu is playing at a pro bowl level for the Ponies. This is worrisome as this team has plenty of healthy players that get injured, let alone ones who are already damaged (hello Dee Ford) goods before playing a down for us. 5 years of this and we’ve had one season of relative health.

But hey, everyone gets injured in the NFL, and one bad injury can sideline an entire season. Just ask Russell Wilson and the Seahawks. We’ll see how they do the next 3 weeks without him. But given the competition in the NFC West, the hope is we can stay ahead of them for the foreseeable future as he tries to get his finger back.

Us? Christ. Who knows. We have a couple ‘easy’ games on our sched in the Colts and Bears before we get back into the meat of the West. The hope is Shanahan has come up with some plays that will actually work. We have Mitchell, Sermon and Hasty back, so the run game should get back on track. Something that pretty much drives the Shanny offense.

Still and all, will that get the ball out of Jimmy’s hand faster? Will it speed up his progressions? He looks so indecisive these days, and the sub-par pass pro doesn’t help. Will we see Nate Sudfeld tomorrow? Like sands through the hourglass, these are the days of our lives.

Defensively, well, Carson Wentz has played pretty well for a little but, but please. Any kind of pass rush and we SHOULD be able to win fairly handily. But there is nothing easy about this season. Fucking Detroit almost took us down. And that was when we were healthy.

I doubt anything will surprise me in the Colts game. I wouldn’t put any money on it.

  2. alleykat69's avatar alleykat69 says:

Should be a torrential rain game so running the football will be heavily involved between 49er’s Mitchell &Colts Taylor. Not expecting a high scoring game 17-13 Niners and just get out of the game with no more injuries!!! Be nice if they can get some production out of Aybust Shanny’s personal whipping boy to help out Deebo who will probably get double teamed a lot..maybe Dwelley gets involved sure can use other options..

    • Winder's avatar Winder says:

Yeah, we might not score that many points. Looks like it will be like the Washington game couple of years ago. i don’t know how well the SC stadium drains. It might even be like an old Kezar mud game. That might be fun to watch.

  3. alleykat69's avatar alleykat69 says:

Like horse racing when I would look at the racing form either at Bay Meadows are Golden Gate Fields looking for that horse 🐎 that’s a good mudder that’s what I’m hoping out of Elijah Mitchell to be in the slop and have a Jim Brown type performance..

  4. unca_chuck's avatar unca_chuck says:

Yeah, shaping up to be an ugly nasty stormy night of football. We are supposedly born to run so we’ll see.

We can’t get beat by Wentz can we?

  5. unca_chuck's avatar unca_chuck says:

As usual, it’s all about turnovers. Without mistakes, we should be fine.

  6. unca_chuck's avatar unca_chuck says:

    Pretty windy / nasty now.

  7. zumiee's avatar zumiee says:

    “a good mudder”

Abbott and Costello did a routine about “the mudder who ate her fodder.”

  8. Irish Kevin's avatar Irish Kevin says:

Here in Sacramento, windy, rainey sloppy mess! Pretty much what the game is going to be

  9. willedav's avatar willedav says:

too bad game was not scheduled for 1:25 start. Not raining at all in south bay (17/280 part of San Jose) and hasn’t much at all…yet.

  10. Irish Kevin's avatar Irish Kevin says:

This must be a dream come true for Kyle, he gets to run the ball beacause passing will be to risky for HIM

  11. Irish Kevin's avatar Irish Kevin says:

I can hear his post game interview, yeah JG just couldn’t grip the ball good enough to pass.

  12. Irish Kevin's avatar Irish Kevin says:

Looking at scores, I am surprised I have no read any uproar over the Niners not taking Mac Jones, the thing is, the really good teams have an offensive line that can pass protect and rush block. The Niners have been building their offensive line for run blocking, sad but true

    • Winder's avatar Winder says:

Yeah, and sometimes they don’t do a very good job of run blocking either.

    • Irish Kevin's avatar Irish Kevin says:

And my point was Mac Jones would do no better than JG, Lance, or any other QB the Niners put behind center, until they build an offensive line that can pass protect, the QB will always look terrible

      • Winder's avatar Winder says:

I still think Lance has way more upside. I think Mac Jones is a young Jimmy and wait till he starts getting hammered.

    • unca_chuck's avatar unca_chuck says:

They haven’t been effective at all building their line. 5 years in and we are a mess. Most here were screaming to get a center and we got the 37 year old guy.

  13. willedav's avatar willedav says:

Jones vs. pressure will be interesting development. what I read last week he made bunch of poor decisions and wild throws. Lit up Saleh’s Jets today though 54-13.
Why would Saleh take a job like that anyway? He’s doomed over there.

  14. willedav's avatar willedav says:

Is really windy down here now. Maybe Wentz is more used to it–might blow some of his passes to his receivers.

  15. unca_chuck's avatar unca_chuck says:

Detroit stupidly doesn’t take the lead when given the opportunity.

Teams have to be around 20% this year going for 4th downs

  16. unca_chuck's avatar unca_chuck says:

And the Rams return the favor on the 50!!! Teams are retarded these days. Derp!!

  17. unca_chuck's avatar unca_chuck says:

Fucking Goff with the stupid pick on the 2. What a joke for Detroit. Goff had the game in front of him and he blows it. Again.

  18. NJ49ER's avatar NJ49ER says:

Another guy I wanted (badly) is playing LG for Indy, Quenton Nelson.
Flat out mauler. Played on the same line as McGlinchey at ND.
Sadly, we didn’t get a sniff on Nelson. We settled for another wasted Top 10 Pick.
Someone shoulda told Shanny and Lynch that RTs are not worth that sort of expenditure.

Rules I live by, and always will, protect the QB/Sack the QB.
    Maybe someday we’ll get there?
Tired of losing SBs at my age.

  19. Winder's avatar Winder says:

    Wow. Nice start.

  20. alleykat69's avatar alleykat69 says:

My guy Mitchell is a great Mudder!!!
13.0 points and a Touchdown shredding the Colts defense!

  21. unca_chuck's avatar unca_chuck says:

    Norman is fucking worthless.

  22. unca_chuck's avatar unca_chuck says:

Insane that we have nothing better than that.

  23. unca_chuck's avatar unca_chuck says:

Once again using RBs for pass plays like that is aggravating. Nice boot tho.

Neeed fucking pressure on Wentz. He’s just gonna toast Norman all game unless we hit him.

  24. alleykat69's avatar alleykat69 says:

Yeah I was posting just at the time Norman got burned. He really is worthless. They’ve done a good job shutting down Taylor but there secondary continues to look like shit..

  25. alleykat69's avatar alleykat69 says:

Lol WTF was Wentz doing with that stupid throw!!
I’ll take it as they were heading in to score , what a gift interception on a 3 foot throw ha ha ha …

  26. unca_chuck's avatar unca_chuck says:

Fuck.. Thanks, Carson. Our offense still can’t do anything. Garoppolo is really annoying these days.

  27. unca_chuck's avatar unca_chuck says:

The halloween horror show is a little early..

  28. Irish Kevin's avatar Irish Kevin says:

Kyle still in love with the running game, a RB has a few good carries and Kyle goes all in on the run!

  29. Irish Kevin's avatar Irish Kevin says:

Of course if the Niners had a QB who could throw with some accuracy, that would be nice

  30. alleykat69's avatar alleykat69 says:

Sick and tired of this secondary completely getting burned on huge chunk yard plays!! They lead the league in pass interference penalties and there mostly 40- 50 fucking yard plays!!!!
