Game Day – How West is Won

Another week, another slew of injuries. Kittle is questionable with a calf injury after playing the whole GB game. His value this year seems to be more as a blocker, but whatevs. Seattle is last by a big margin in defense, so we’d better start fast.

Don’t let them hang around and just overwhelm them.

Winning the division starts here and now.

Busy all weekend, so this is up now.

  2. Winder says:

I honestly don’t expect much from us today. We got no run game and Jimmy is just to predictable IMO.

  3. unca_chuck says:

Par usual, this team plays too much like the Harbaugh teams that are forced to come back when they start slow. Over and over. One mistake and they are out of luck.

Shanahan for being this offensive guru isn’t doing shit these days. We get a couple more games like these last 2 and they WILL turn to Lance. Garoppolo isn’t hitting the easy mid-range throws and it’s like he doesn’t get the sense of urgency to play well early.

  4. NJ49ER says:

Would love to see Shanny put Trey into some rollouts and take some shots down the field.
Have to unpack the box and spread the Defense out.

  5. LA Glory says:

Winning the division? Bahahahahahahaha! The only thing the Whiners are winning today is another smack down by Russell Wilson. The Rams own the west and the Dodgers are on their way to winning another championship while the little Giants will have their hearts broken with a wildcard loss on Wednesday.

  6. Grumpy Guy says:

Yardage in the first quarter.. SF 167, Seattle, minus 3.

  7. Winder says:

Cant give Wilson so many chances with only a 7 point lead.

  8. Irish Kevin says:

Not having a FG kicker is going to be huge

  9. Irish Kevin says:

Using up the clock without a FG kicker is the wrong thing to do

  10. Winder says:

Now is the time for Shanny to show his offensive geniusness.

  11. Lurker John says:

I’m sorry, guys, Kyle Shanahan is a joke. He may well be the most overrated coach in the NFL. This team is going nowhere.

  12. Lurker John says:

The Giants are a team with heart. The 49ers have none of that.

  13. Lurker John says:

If they didn’t have Deebo, they’d literally have no offense.

  14. Winder says:

    This is just sad.

  15. Irish Kevin says:

I don’t know how many years are on Kyle contract, but with the talent he has, he is doing nothing with it!!!

  16. The Seahawks says:

    We suck

  17. Lurker John says:

At least as of right now, Lance has horrible throwing mechanics.

  18. Irish Kevin says:

This is what happens when you don’t pass the ball, Kyle has Deebo, Kittle, and Aiuk, terrible use of talent

  19. Trey Lancealot says:

SF should just forfeit before every Seahawks game. But that would spoil all the fun!

  20. Winder says:

    That was pretty nice.

  21. Winder says:

    Maybe it’s Lance time.

  22. Lurker John says:

Lance is as raw as raw can be, even after OTA’s, camp, preseason and 4 regular season games. The way he throws the ball does give me a lot of confidence in his long term prospects.

It’s pretty clear right now that the Niners blow, so Shanahan may as well start him next week and start letting him go through what will surely be substantial growing pains. SF doesn’t have a chance against AZ anyway and Garoppolo is absolutely nowhere as an NFL QB, so let him play. What do they have to lose?

    • Lurker John says:

And that’s does NOT give me a lot of confidence in his long term prospects. His mechanics are a disaster and he’s inaccurate as hell. Not a good combo. Let him play anyway. The 49ers are going nowhere.

  23. Irish Kevin says:

Kyle needs to quit using Deebo for end arounds. Deebo, Aiuk, Kittle and take your pick for a 3rd WR, if your QB cannot get the ball down the field with that talent…

  24. The NFC West Cellar says:

Now you fools can just look up and watch a real football team like Arizona show you what first place is all about.

  25. NJ49ER says:

Queue the desparation when you go flea flicker with a relative newbee RB too.
Gadget plays are something I was hoping NOT to see.

I agree with Lurker John, Shanny is running out of time and has few new wrinkles to offer.
He lives and dies with the ZBS and teams are sitting on it.
Pete owns Kyle and, Kyle can’t find an answer to unload the box and spread the field.
Leave Trey in there to settle down and see the game at full speed.
See if Jimmy is worth something elsewhere while he’s stll upright.
    Miami tired of Tua yet?
    Maybe Houston?
Once (IF) they get some ammo for Watson.
I’m tired of the 3 & Outs and it’s only been 4 games.

    • Irish Kevin says:

Like I said with the talent Kyle has the Niners should not be struggling on offense

      • NJ49ER says:

        Absolutely not Irish Kevin.
I’m starting to feel like it’s Groundhog Day in Santa Clara.
The epitome of doing the same thing over and over again and not making progress.
AZ is going at 110MPH and we’re tripping over our ding dongs.

      • NJ49ER says:

Starting to think the Jimmy ‘calf injury’ is between his ears ans Shanny is looking for a miracle.
Trey needs to settle down and take his lumps at this point.
Jimmy just doesn’t look like he’s in command to me.
Shades of ‘game Mgr 101’, no urgency or killer instinct that jumps out.
Until we get one of these 2 QBs to learn how to go for the jugular, it ain’t gonna be much fun to watch in this Division.
        That goes double for Shanny.
He’s being out coached when it matters most, inside the Division.
Stafford, Murray and Wilson play to win and make it obvious.
Ho hum Jimmy not so much.

  26. unca_chuck says:

Yeah, this was fucking disheartening to see this team struggle against a mediocre defense. The offense went right to college bullshit plays when Lance came in. For Shanny being mr mojo risin, he sure didn’t do much. They need to design routes longer than 3 yards for Lance. The initial protection was decent enough, and something should be available. gave them a

Jimmy can’t even hit the short shit now. We have a bunch of weapons, but this is JUST like the Harbaugh/Singletary era where teams just play us tight to the line because there is NO deep threat at all. So the run game doesn’t work, the jet sweeps don’t work, and the short passing game doesn’t work. And any negative play kills a drive.

The PI call was horrendous though. Extended their TD drive and gave them time and points.

Whatevs. The Giants kicked the Dodgers ass and the Rooster can suck my dick.

    • NJ49ER says:

Been my gripe all along Chuck, unpack the box.
I just hope this Trey Lance expenditure isn’t going the RPO route.
He won’t last long if he isn’t taught to play in the pocker and deliver on time.

Roll the pocket if you have to but look downfield more.
That flea flicker garbage with Jimmy was a waste of time. He doesn’t throw an accurate deep ball very well.
Watched Zach Wilson deliver a dime into double coverage against TN today that had to go for 50+ yards in the air for a TD.
Trey appears to have that going for him too. Would definitely like to find out.

  27. unca_chuck says:

The way teams run their mobile QBs on us is to send all the WRs on deep routes and empty out the short zones. The clears out the edges for big runs.

And whatever the fuck is wrong with Jimmy G, fuck. A calf? Really?

    • NJ49ER says:

      Ho hum Jimmy.
Makes me wonder what Shanny is trying to do with Trey when Jimmy continues to look like a scared rabbit.

  28. unca_chuck says:

They have time to figure this out, but man, we need to do a lot of shit better offensively. We are terrible as of now.

  29. JimMEH G says:

As expected, two inevitable things happened today. I shit the bed. Mom blew me and ate it.

  30. NJ49ER says:

Jimmy already floating a 2 week absence before he gets tested.
Swell….. and Ho Effn Hum already.
    Man up Jimwad.
Now Trent WIlliams is dealing with a shoulder issue.
    WTF?

  31. Irish Kevin says:

Kyle did not seem to learn anything from the GB game, in the last SF drive JG threw all passes to get the TD. And they were passes down the field. That should have given Kyle confidence in JG in the passing game. So what if the Packer game was a loss, it showed JG is capable of getting it done

  32. unca_chuck says:

Fuck Jimmy. He’s got the guts of a sea slug. When did he get hurt? Jogging off the field at half time?
