Game Day!!

Preseason games usually aren’t a big deal, but this is the debut of Trey Lance and the future of the 49ers. We even have a representative, 12thMan, at the game. Can’t wait for our on-the-scene coverage. I’m sure the place will be packed, as this is the opening game of Lance’s career.

I guess it is fitting that I’m in Montana right now. And this is the start of another 49er dynasty. Let’s GOOO!!!!!!

    I’m in a 1994 Rice.
Busy here but not packed yet but a ton of tailgating going on outside.
Everybody talking about Trey of course.
    Will update as we go!

One things for sure, it’s awesome to be back live.

    Going to be fun

Nice to have a “At the game reporter” and of course it all starts with a tailgate party!! Keep up the good work 12th Man!!
Man that was a beautiful 1st throw on the run by Lance, to bad Aycuk dropped it..

  4. Irish Kevin says:

Wow backup QB and our D gets torched for an easy TD

  5. alleykat69 says:

    And here comes Trey Lance!!!
80 yards perfect Bomb to Sherfield!!!
    Man is he special!

  6. unca_chuck says:

    There you go. Throwing dimes.

  7. 12th Man says:

Ok stadium stuff. Masks indoors not out. Limited menu food is free this year for season tix holders, Inc peanuts and popcorn.
Stadium is 2/3 full, probably doesn’t look it on TV but inside is packed.

Nothing to complain about with Trey, IMO he’s made the most of each opportunity.

Jimmy G looks about the same to me.

    D is a mixed bag.

A lot of starters not playing much.

  8. Irish Kevin says:

The WR’s had better get their shit together, both drops catchable

  9. Winder says:

    Lance looks fucking great.

  10. unca_chuck says:

The back up O line is awful.

  11. 12th Man says:

Richie James is playing his way off the team.

Trey was in accurate on back to back plays, he also didn’t see a couple of easy plays. This during 2 min when the pressure is on. The line was aweful.

I doubt he plays second half.

  12. Winder says:

Yeah, with all the backups it’s hard to tell what’s really going on. The last 2 minutes before the half looked pretty bad all around.

  13. alleykat69 says:

Richie James I have never liked, just reminds to much of the other bust Dante Pettis!

  14. unca_chuck says:

Yeah, he can’t eve return punts anymore. Jennings gets his spot..

  15. alleykat69 says:

You can forget about Hurd making this team as he doesn’t play again with another injury ( wrist ?) anyway Sherfield blew by him with his solid game as a potential #3 WR and a special teams standout.
Solid game by Nasmi Webster as well, looks like a player that belongs and outstanding speed on kickoff returns maybe punt returner as well.

  16. 12th Man says:

Looks like the beat writers saw it pretty much the way I did. Trey is talented but a little raw. For his first game in a year it went pretty well but if I had to choose who to start today it’s Jimmy.
Trey has 4 weeks to build on this experience and try to knock Jimmy off.

    • Winder says:

I don’t think there is any pressure for Lance to overtake Jimmy he has all year to hone his skills. I doubt Jimmy will stay healthy for very long so he should progress as quickly as he can. I think he’s gonna be a star in this league and for us.

  17. alleykat69 says:

Josh Rosen cut today as he apparently got beat out by Nate Sudfield as the #3 QB .A bad practice today didn’t help his cause supposedly. Not a surprise at all..

  18. unca_chuck says:

There is a God.. Tim Tebow cut by the Jags.

  19. 12th Man says:

PFF Trey evaluation, which I agree with.

QB TREY LANCE, SAN FRANCISCO 49ERS (48.8)

Trey Lance’s debut performance brought far more hype than negativity, but he got worse as the game went on, and a couple of late mistakes may have been concerning to Kyle Shanahan and the 49ers brass. The performance likely took a sledgehammer to any prospect he has of starting Week 1.

Lance undoubtedly has supreme talent, and his deep touchdown to Trent Sherfield in the game showed that, as did some of his other impressive throws. He comes into the NFL very short on experience, and while that didn’t manifest itself in college in many critical mental errors (his 2019 season featured a turnover-worthy play rate of just 1.7%, lower than Justin Fields or Trevor Lawrence that year), he has fewer than 400 career dropbacks to his name.

While he didn’t throw any interceptions against Kansas City, two passes should have been picked off, and those are plays that negate a lot of positives in the regular season. Lance will be starting soon for the 49ers, but the timetable certainly wasn’t shortened by those plays.

Trey was throwing to 3rd string guys behind a 3rd string line by the end of the half. I’m not that concerned at all. Fucking Ryan Leaf tore up the preseason his first year and didn’t amount to a pile of shit.

    • alleykat69 says:

Well actually a pile of shit had more value then Ryan Leaf.. You can scoop it up put it in a brown paper bag, place it on a doormat, light in fire 🔥 as your ringing the doorbell to an unsuspecting home owner and walla a stamped out pile of steaming shit 💩

A very hysterical pastime activity for us as kids AK.
Did it quite often on Halloween, especially when several old farts wouldn’t give out candy.
Flaming bag-o-poop delivery service was atop the list of retribution.
