Nobody Circles the Wagons . . .

. . . like the Buffalo Bills? Buffalo? All in all this is a fucked up year. The Cleveland Browns are 8-3? Tennessee is 8-3? The Bills are 8-3? Dolphins and Colts 7-4? I give the Raiders a little more cred than those guys as they are the only team to beat the Chiefs. And they are 6-5.

To me, most of the AFC is a mirage. You have the Chiefs and the Steelers, and the aforementioned teams who have been beating up on the likes of the Jets, the Jags, the Bengals and the Texans, who are a combined 7-26-1. And I’m not even including the Chargers, who have continued their tradition of losing in various and insane ways.

Us? I don’t really know either. I didn’t think we’d stand a chance vs the Rams, but Shanny appears to have a corner office in Sean McVay’s head. And the defense played an outstanding game. Offensively we were all over the map.

At some point one would think that Nick Mullens could string together a coupe good games. And whatever slim playoff hopes they have, we really can’t afford to lose to anyone. At least we are getting some of our starters back on offense. If we can somehow get past the Bills, we have 2 eminently winnable games against the powerhouses of the NFC Least in the No-Skins and the Cowboys. Of course we need help to get past AZ, Minn, and Chi, but Chi has no QB and that shit will play out as it will.

Why the fuck not? If we get Jimmy G and Kittle back healthy, we might just become the dark horse contender.

Hyuk!

As far as our slim playoff hopes are, the best chance we seem to have is the Bears falling to Deetroit, and the Cards crashing and burning against the pissed off Rams in our new home stadium in AZ. The Vikings have the 1-10 Jags so that looks to be a cakewalk. Seattle? They get the Giants in yet another walk-through.

There’s also the battle of the Pretenders where the 8-3 Browns play the 8-3 Titans. Both teams have solid run games. Which means you stop that and you beat them. The 11-0 Steelers play the No-Skins so their march to perfection in this imperfect year looks to continue as well.

the only way Jimmy and Kittle come back is if we are in the playoff hunt. Otherwise it really doesn’t make much sense to bring anyone back just for the last couple of weeks

Raider down 13-7 to the Jets.

It would be so Raiders to beat the undefeated Chiefs and lose to the unvictorious Jets.

Holy shit. They just flashed a stat on the Lions game. Post season wins since 1958 (the last Detroit championship [over the 49ers].

    Pats – 37
    Steelers – 36
    Cowboys – 35
    49ers/Pack – 32
    .
    yadda yadda yadda
    .
Deetroit has 1. Ouch. That’s some extreme futility for a long long time. Musta been a Barry Sanders playoff win.

Biscuit fumbles on the 5 with 1:45 left and Lions down 30-27!

    Lions take the lead!!

If you look at the old NFL films the last decade the Lions were relevant was in the 50’s. I was to young to remember the 58 game against Detroit but i remember my dad talking about it. A real sad day for the 49er organization and the fans. Pretty much like the 72 loss to Dallas.

Yup. I was at the ’72 playoff game. Fuycking heartbreaking. Mainly because after the TD, Brodie his Washington on a 40 yard bomb to put us on their 40 with 25 seconds left. But it was called back by a holding penalty, Similqr to the Catch game when Wric Wright saved a TD by hourse collaring Drew Pearson on a deep crossing route. He was gone if Wroight didn’t tackle him. Next play Archie Reese caused a Danny White fumble and the rest i history.

Giants beat the Seahawks? What the actual fuck?

  8. unca_chuck says:

Sean McVay is 6-0 vs AZ his last 6, 5-2 vs Carroll his last 7, and 0-4 vs Shanahan.

We have played the Rams pretty good since Shanny’s been here. The first year we got our asses handed to us but since then we have played em good. Some of those games were real close and decided in the last minute or two.
