So far in this sportsless landscape (golf? NASCAR? zzzzzzzzzzzzz), the NFL has been waiting on the sidelines hoping for things to calm down while baseball and basketball deal with the ramifications of sheltering during games, and all the logistical nightmares that go with it. Actually baseball is fighting over money, but that’s beside the point. Stupid fuck idiots, the lot of’em.
Thing is, with restrictions being mildly lifted, Ezekiel Elliott, and ‘several cowboys and Texans’ per a CBS report have tested positive for the Coronavirus. Elliott himself is asymptomatic and doing fine. None of the players were at their facilities, and the teams know and follow the protocols, but therein lies the rub. Open this stuff too early and the feared second wave hits. Baseball and basketball with most certainly have to deal with this contingency where they would have to shut their games down a second time.
Football is waiting against all hope that there is some kind of hope that the season will not have to be shortened, pushed back, or God forbid, cancelled. Seeing as this just took hold after the (FUCK) Super Bowl, we’ll have to see if they can dodge that bullet.
chuck- thought you might be interested in this. i know I am. i bet NJ would be too.
This used to be the go to bar back in the day. Divey, seedy, and a bit dangerous at times, it was a mainstay. My sister lives on the block it is on. The bar faces the Rio Del Mar beach.
As far as the virus goes. i don’t think there is so much of second wave yet. My guess it maybe at the most 10% of Americans have been tested(if that). It doesn’t look like we are gonna get a full season at this point and maybe none at all. Which really sucks for us.
49ers signed coach Kyle Shanahan to a three-year contract extension through 2025.
Shanahan still had three years remaining on his previous deal, but the 49ers were not going to let a Jim Harbaugh situation develop. Harbaugh continually outproduced his original deal but an extension never came, leading to bitter acrimony between the two sides. For his part, Shanahan delivered on the injury-interrupted promise of his first two seasons with a Super Bowl 2019-20. One of the best schemers in recent NFL history, Shanahan managed and manipulated last year’s offense to perfection. Still only 40 years old, Shanahan is looking set for a decade-plus tenure in San Fran.
Yeah, that’s fine. Shanahan has certainly got the team going in the right direction.
I’m more concerned about Kittle at this point. His agent appears to want over $15 mill a year. We may just franchise him.
I think we should give Kittle what he wants. He is the heart of the team and considered by many to be the best all around player in the nfl. We just have to figure out how to do it.
Problem is we have a lot of deals expiring in the next couple years and we need to keep the team reasonably together. Don’t want to hear all this WR talk for Kittle. The Rams got to where they were by signing star players to huge deals and forgetting the rest,
I don’t see Kittle harming the team but if we can do i would make sure we keep him. It might be a bad year to do it since the cap probably won’t be any higher due to the virus. Put the tag on him for a year then figure it out.
They’ve been talking like a deal is imminent, and will happen before the season starts, but that was before the weirdness hit.
I expect the dumb Niners to give me $39 mil a year. It’s not like they did that for Pornoppolope after just five games. And why are you dropping f-bombs over the super bowl. That was a great game…
..,for the Chiefs.
Too bad your mom didn’t have any kids that lived.
Deebo Samuel broke his foot. Out 3-4 months.
