Fuck. Plenty of blame to go around in the 4th quarter melt down. Maybe Skip Bayless is right and we go after Tom Brady. I kid, I kid. Shanny fucked up the time management at the end of the 1st half. Burning 1:45 to ensure the tie rather than go for points to close out the half. Even still, if not for the OPI on Kittle, the Niners get a field goal.
Game calling was bad down the stretch as well. Shanny went away from the run with the lead intact at 20-17. 5 yard run on 1st down, followed by 2 inc’s. Punt. To that point Jimmy G was 9-12 and 195, but the wheels fell off and we
The defense, which was holding down Mahomes, and had forced 2 picks, suddenly looked old and slow. Sherm got flat toasted on a 38 yard pass. Tyreek Hill got wide open on a 3rd and 15 flail that Jimmy Ward simply blew. Tavarius Moore’s terrible PI play on Kelce on 3rd down that would have held KC to a FG. He turns around, he possibly picks it off. At the worst, defends the play.
Jimmy G flat missed a wide open Emmanuel Sanders on a deep middle route when it was 24-20 KC. He also missed the play completely on a pass designed for Kittle late in the 1st half (and he was open) that Jimmy threw underneath to Coleman short of the 1st down and we settled for a FG.
What is so maddening is the game was in our hands. 20-10 lead and we get a pick with 11:05 left. KC’s defense ended up making the plays in the 4th quarter as we crapped out. Fat Bastard gets his elusive ring, and we go wanting yet again.
Fuck.
Why was Moore even out there? He and Wilson had been on the bech for the last 5 games.
Yep, we were out coached and outplayed. Time for introspection, Time to reclaim the motivation and leave all the bullshit behind. i think we can do it. I can’t get to interested in the draft until i see who we let go and the FA’s we pick up. I bet there are a lot of players who would like to play for us now. I am actually jazzed about the possibilities that might come our way though. The long fucking off-season is now here. Let the haters hate it’s kinda funny.
We are back among the best ! Young team with still and the sky’s the limit ! Offseason we should look at DB and O-line IMO !
The secondary is our biggest concern. Sherman plays well, but can be exposed. Witherspoon is playing his way out, and Moore/Harris are 3rd stringers at best. We need LB help as well. More speed.
The Giants are gonna suck, so this is gonna be a looong summer. I’m encouraged by the team’s progress, but disappointed at this outcome.
Lots of people need to learn lessons here.
And we need to avoid the Super Bowl slump of the losing team missing the playoffs.
Sherman got bitch slapped by Sammy Watkins who had 2 steps on him for the 38 yard play. He wasn’t good enough like several others last night.
Yeah they definitely need to draft a CB first in the draft, with Sherman’s age, a useless Witherspoon, they are quite thin in quality secondary help…
Such a huge disappointment. Really felt we were the better, more balanced team. I gave Shanny a lot of sh*t yesterday and today, I still think he deserves a lot. I mean I think he is a great coach. I would be happy to see him our coach for the next 10 years. But he had better learn from his play calling errors. Dude has now been outscored 40-0 in the 4th qtr of the SB as a play caller. That’s pretty anti-clutch. Not good.
This has been the best season for a long time. I enjoyed it much more than the Harbaugh years. There is a lot of good to build on. Lynch so far has proven much, much better than I thought he’d be. We are still a young team. But getting to, let alone winning the SB is always a herculean task. We should be good next year, but no guarantee whatsoever we go to the SB, or finish 13-3 and get home field. Or even make the playoffs in the tough NFC West. There is even the SB hangover curse waiting to kick us out of the playoffs all together. That’s why not winning when you have it hurts so damn much. Pretty bummed.

May not even make the playoffs in the tough NFC West. There is even the SB hangover curse waiting to kick us out of the playoffs all together. That’s why not winning when you have it hurts so much. Yeah, Shanny went pass-happy for no reason. It has burned him twice.
Maybe Lynch should stay on the sidelines in all games. Then he can yell at Shanny when to use the right timeouts at the right time!
I’m wondering what the NFL version of a ‘Dive’ looks like.
I think we witnessed Shanny taking one last night.
They all need to learn from this loss. Shanahan especially. Jimmy G played bad after he took a shot to his head late in the 3rd quarter. Neither announcer even commented on this play.
That should have been called.
Compare that with this brutal hit on Tom Brady.
I’ve grown numb to NFL Officiating. It has pretty ruined the game for me.
They control the game with these idiots parading as ‘Officials’ while the HDTV cameras expose everything to the rest of us.
Their OL was pretty much given a pass in terms of holding all game.
As noted already, the hit to Jimmy’s head was clear as day too.
Not going to put this on the Officiating however.
We choked.
Shanny hasn’t shown me much in big games, to even consider him in the same zip code with Bill Walsh yet, and, he may never get there.
Doesn’t make sense to me, especially when he claimed to have learned from the Pats meltdown in ATL.
I gotta wonder even harder, about those Ohlone Indian burial ground reports in Santa Clara.
Maybe we are cursed?
The problem with the 49ers is the bar to meet expectations is impossibly high. Just look at all that Steve Young had to endure.
Yeah, what annoys me about Shanny is the only person he seems to fool is himself. With the ball at mid-field with 1:30 left, you’d think he’d try to move the ball methodically down the field instead of going pass-happy.
Sure, it’s looking back, but once again, if Shanny just gets 2 or 3 1st downs and burns some clock, the game is over. Instead, he plays into KC’s hopes of stopping the clock with incompletions and going 3 and out.
And yoiu have to wonder what was going on with Jimmy G. He had Kittle open a lot and didn’t look his way very much.
We flat-out didn’t play good when we needed to. In my mind to put it all on KS, and Jimmy doesn’t make sense to me. Lot of mistakes in this game. i think KS and Lynch is still the best thing to happen to this team since Walsh and McVay. The product they were able to put on the this year was nothing short of amazing. I doubt anyone was more bummed over this loss as i was but the fact is we were just a couple of plays going our way to winning it all. I Can’t wait to see what we do this year.
Yeah, as I said there’s plenty of blame to go around, but the play calling was bad. The only way KC was going to get back into the game is if we threw incompletions and didn’t try to run.
In Shanny’s 2 Super Bowl losses, he’s been outscored 52-0 to close those games.
Ooops. New thread is up.
I don’t know how the Dodgers keep doing it but they just took the NL Crown 3 months before the season starts.
