Saturday Night’s Alright for Football . . .

Get a little action in. Here we go with the prelude to ecstacy. Strangely enough, the Rams are still in the playoff hunt, so this isn’t a walkover game like it could be. Thing is though, they were in the playoff hunt last week when they were slaughtered like the Lambs they are. Earlier in the year, we ran the ball down their throats, and the 20-7 score was not indicative of the domination.

Now however, we are banged up, and our pressure, once so dominating, has faded these last few weeks. Pressure is IMPERATIVE as we all saw what a good quarterback on a bad team can do as Matt Ryan scored 2 late TDs with relative ease to beat us on the last play.

A fast start is also imperative, as I think we can pretty easily crush their spirit and do what we did last time. Give them hope however, and we can very well end up like last week’s outcome.

27-10 Niners.

There is not enough Tequila in all of Christendom to survive many more weeks of this shit.

  12. Grumpy Guy's avatar Grumpy Guy says:

But on the fucking whole, I vastly prefer winning on the last play to losing on it!

  13. rtfirefly's avatar rtfirefly says:

My nerves can’t take much more of this. Can’t we win an easy one for a change?

  14. Grumpy Guy's avatar Grumpy Guy says:

It won’t get better next week. Play like this on both sides of the line is not going to get it done against Seattle. KS better dig deep in his bag of magic shit.

  15. Winder's avatar Winder says:

Another incredibly nerve wracking game. We needed this one bad and I guess the football Gods thought so too. I thought the Rams out played for the most part. This team doesn’t have any give up to em.

  16. unca_chuck's avatar unca_chuck says:

The lack of pass rush will be the death of this team. I don’t know how healthy we can get before it really matters.

  17. unca_chuck's avatar unca_chuck says:

    Both lines are in trouble.

  18. Winder's avatar Winder says:

yeah we are gonna need to dig deep to get the best out of everyone. Everyone knows it’s gonna come down to the 49ers against Wilson and so far Wilson usually wins that one.

Niners-Seahawks has been flexed to Sun. night on NBC.

  20. rtfirefly's avatar rtfirefly says:

We will be the #1,5 or 6 seed.

    Beat Seahawks and we’re #1.
    Tie Seahawks and we’re #5.
Lose to Seahawks and it depends on the Vikings. They own the tiebreaker over us due to common games. Our loss to the Falcons blew that one.

So, if the Vikes at home beat the Pack and the Bears, a loss to the Seahawks drops us to #6 and instead of spending wildcard weekend going to Dallas or Philly, we’d go to NO or GB.

GOOOOOO PACKERS tomorrow night!! That would guarantee us #5 at worst.

  21. Grumpy Guy's avatar Grumpy Guy says:

Seattle down 13 to the Cardinals with one quarter to go. But we still have to win next week.

  22. alleykat69's avatar alleykat69 says:

How do you always figure out teams?
49ers can’t seem to ever win in Seattle, yet Arizona kicking their asses 27-13 have now won 5 of their last 7 up there..

  23. Grumpy Guy's avatar Grumpy Guy says:

One game lead with one to go. If we had played for the tie against Seattle, just run out the clock our last possession in OT instead of giving Wilson one more chance after the 49er incompletions gave him the ball back – we’d have clinched the division today. We’d still need to win next week for #1 seed over the Saints, though.

    • alleykat69's avatar alleykat69 says:

Just like when Shanny then OC shouuld of stomped on the throats of Pats in SB! Time to win it, time to think of the standings still being undefeated but no tiebreaker scenario then..

  24. rtfirefly's avatar rtfirefly says:

Carson out for the rest of the season including playoffs. Seahawks are down to their #3 RB. Awww, too bad.

    • Winder's avatar Winder says:

The Seahawks kept some of their best players out today because of injuries. Most of em should be back next week. The Rams and AZ seem to play ok up there but we sure don’t. That has to change next week.

  25. alleykat69's avatar alleykat69 says:

Who did they hold out Winder?
Carson,Metcalf,Lockett,Hollister all played, not sure on their D who were out?
Carson’s loss is huge though, especially with no Penny, the 49ers should be able to shutdown their running game, though I don’t like Wilson chucking 40-50 passes and his usual magic against us..

      Seahawks Inactives vs Cardinals –

      WR John Ursua
      CB Shaquill Griffin
      S Quandre Diggs
      TE Tyrone Swoopes
      G Phil Haynes
      T Duane Brown
      DE Jadeveon Clowney

  26. NJ49ER's avatar NJ49er says:

No. 1 NFC seed: The 49ers are the current No. 1 seed in the NFC after beating the Rams on Saturday and seeing the Seahawks lose to the Cardinals on Sunday. This is pretty simple: if the 49ers beat the Seahawks on Sunday night, they will be the No. 1 seed in the NFC, by virtue of winning the NFC West and holding a tiebreaker over the Packers and Saints with head-to-head wins.

No. 5 NFC seed: The 49ers will either be the No. 1 seed or a wild card. Fun! If they lose to the Seahawks and the Vikings go 1-1, the 49ers would be the No. 5 seed in the NFC.

No. 6 NFC seed: However, if the Vikings win out, they would have a tiebreaker over the 49ers for the No. 5 seed (common games, with the 49ers going 2-3 against Atlanta, Green Bay, Washington and Seattle and Minnesota going 3-2), dropping the 49ers to the sixth seed.

  27. alleykat69's avatar alleykat69 says:

    49ers haven’t won in Seattle since 2011!!
Damm their way overdue to handle them.
Their mindset better be strong 💪 and know it’s all about going thru SF to the SB and getting the extra rest…#1 seeds have a huge advantage of getting to the SB, nobody wants to go to Green Bay in Dec facing Rodgers in his house, so I think they win and win big, especially now that Seattle has no running backs left, it will all be on Wilson (scary thought) but it should be too much to overcome..

  28. Winder's avatar Winder says:

alleykat- The players I was talking about were on defense. i didn’t watch their game but I knew Clowney was out plus a safety and CB. But I also thought that Ansah was gonna be out also and that is pretty much their pass rush. Also Wagner was a questionable start today.

    • alleykat69's avatar alleykat69 says:

      Thanks Winder, NJ
Did not know their extensive injury list on defense which now got larger with on offense with both RB’s Carson ( hip crack) and Prioulsse (sp?.broken arm) their down to their 4th string guy Homer, and will have to add a back are 2 for the 49er game.

Just another amazing end to a game. Levi was the loudest I’ve heard it, and although it’s hard to compare, I think on par with the Stick. Levi finally has home field advantage. I also saw all 3 Niner owners on the sideline during warmups, only ever seen Jed before, never Denise or Dr. York just socializing.

One interesting tidbit, the D line coach tore into Solly for a good few mins on the sideline after a play. He was really pissed.

Jimmy certainly hasn’t played his best since NO, but one quality he has is when the Niners were behind and the crowd was less enthusiastic, you can see him getting pumped up to go out and try to score. He doesn’t have any bad body language regardless of how the game has gone. He expects to win.

I still have nightmares about Alex Smith, letting his shoulders and head drop and looking defeated after an INT or a Three and Out.

Remarkably, the Raiders still have a fair shot to make the playoffs. Here’s what they need to happen:
    1) Steelers lose
    2) Titans lose
    3) Colts win
    4) Raiders win

    Got it? OK
    1) Steelers play the Ravens. Check
    2) Titans go to Houston. Houston won the first game handily at Tenn. Also, the Texans still have a longshot for the #3 seed. That’s the difference between playing the Bills or playing one of the above teams on Wildcard Weekend. Check.
    3) Colts play the Jaguars. Check.

Aha, the Raiders. The Raiders go to Denver, historically a place where Raider dreams go to die. I’ll be rooting like crazy in the day games for the Broncos to win. Give the Las Vegas team the sendoff they deserve.

Not fair! I return out of this window to Yahoo! and see that this exact same thing is a headline. LOL, NOT FAIR! I got it from The Rich Eisen Show a couple days ago, I think (?). In any case, I double-checked all the tiebreak stuff myself. I didn’t just cut-and-paste the latest Yahoo! headline.
