Saturday Night’s Alright for Football . . .

Get a little action in. Here we go with the prelude to ecstacy. Strangely enough, the Rams are still in the playoff hunt, so this isn’t a walkover game like it could be. Thing is though, they were in the playoff hunt last week when they were slaughtered like the Lambs they are. Earlier in the year, we ran the ball down their throats, and the 20-7 score was not indicative of the domination.

Now however, we are banged up, and our pressure, once so dominating, has faded these last few weeks. Pressure is IMPERATIVE as we all saw what a good quarterback on a bad team can do as Matt Ryan scored 2 late TDs with relative ease to beat us on the last play.

A fast start is also imperative, as I think we can pretty easily crush their spirit and do what we did last time. Give them hope however, and we can very well end up like last week’s outcome.

27-10 Niners.

How many teams neutralize Aaron Donald like Dallas did?
That’s the part of the comparison we need to duplicate.
Our O-Line is what determines how far we go for stretch run.

  2. Winder says:

With so many defensive injuries it’s gonna be up the offense to pull us through. They better give DJ Jones a nice fat contract next year.

  3. Winder says:

A 49er/Ram game that actually means something. Doesn’t get much better than that.

    • Winder says:

Sorry to hear that. The fucking world is full of stupid assholes that destroy everything including themselves just because they are pissed.

  4. alleykat69 says:

Real tragic story that’s not to uncommon when your dealing with young cocky adults.Throw in some alcohol, a woman are 2, jealously and it can create a bad situation! Still condolences to the Beathard family during this heart breaking time..

  5. Winder says:

    Rams making it look easy.

  6. alleykat69 says:

Your mommy can, since she slapped the doctor the minute you were born, she’s use to shit..

  7. unca_chuck says:

Defense is bad.No pressure once again. We are biting on every fake. Every screen works.

The pick so far is the play of the game.

  8. unca_chuck says:

We better get healthy by the time we go to Dallas.

  9. unca_chuck says:

We are playing like a young inexperienced defense. We bite on every fake, leave the edge wide open for backside runs, and we over-pursue every screen.

  10. unca_chuck says:

At least the offense is settling down.

  11. alleykat69 says:

Warner what a read for the Pick6!!

  12. Grumpy Guy says:

Thank God. I was beginning to think no one on defense remembered how to make a play. Now get the half over with and get in with the slim lead. At least Jimmy did not let the game get away, but Saleh needs to figure shit out.

  13. alleykat69 says:

Can’t believe Warner was snubbed along with Buckner &AA to the Pro Bowl.Though I think Buckner is an alternate?

  14. Grumpy Guy says:

Damn it. Can’t turn the ball over. But at least the defense kept them from scoring. Now we need to get a good long drive and settle the offense down.

  15. Grumpy Guy says:

Good field position twice in a row, and we can’t do anything with it.

  16. unca_chuck says:

    That’s too bad about Beathard.

  17. unca_chuck says:

Gawd. Both lines suck right now. And it is why we are losing.

  18. Grumpy Guy says:

Losing Richburg was a dagger to the heart. Our guards are not very good, and he was the one holding it together. Play like this next week and Seattle clobbers us anyway, regardless of what happens tonight.

  19. Grumpy Guy says:

If I’m KS I consider using Brunskill at center next week. It’s time to get desperate.

  20. unca_chuck says:

They have to do something. Dallas manhandled this D line.

  21. Grumpy Guy says:

Back in front: But can the defense hold them?

  22. unca_chuck says:

Need the defense to make a goddamn play.

  23. Grumpy Guy says:

All those sacks earlier in the year. Tonight: Nada. The pass rush disappeared when Ford and DJ and Blair went down. Bosa can’t do it alone.

  24. Grumpy Guy says:

Tied. Well. Now we have to play for the game winning kick. That means move the chains, AND don’t Fuck Up the clock management.

  25. unca_chuck says:

    Harris for the loss.

  26. Grumpy Guy says:

    Fuck. Another sack. 5 now.

  27. Grumpy Guy says:

If we go three and out the Rams will plenty of time to win it.

  28. alleykat69 says:

OL taking a beating! 5 Sacks! Would help if Jimmy G could roll out more to be alittle more mobile..

  29. Grumpy Guy says:

    Bourne!

  30. alleykat69 says:

Well that was huge! 3&16 they get it to Bourne for 17..

  31. Grumpy Guy says:

Goddamnit ALL THESE FUCKING GAMES are going to give me a stroke.

  32. Grumpy Guy says:

Sanders! Now get just a bit closer…

  33. alleykat69 says:

God damm it Unbelievable 46 yard 💣 Bomb!!
How can you fuck that up Rams! But it’s 😎

  34. Grumpy Guy says:

    YES.

  35. Grumpy Guy says:

Sanders beat Jalen Ramsey on that one?

  36. Grumpy Guy says:

Just get a clean snap now.

  37. alleykat69 says:

With ya Grumpy! I need to keep a crash cart with built in paddles next to my recliner!!

  38. alleykat69 says:

    Ballgame!!!!!
    It was Gould en!!!

  39. Grumpy Guy says:

There is not enough Tequila in all of Christendom to survive many more weeks of this shit.

  40. Grumpy Guy says:

But on the fucking whole, I vastly prefer winning on the last play to losing on it!

  41. rtfirefly says:

My nerves can’t take much more of this. Can’t we win an easy one for a change?

  42. Grumpy Guy says:

It won’t get better next week. Play like this on both sides of the line is not going to get it done against Seattle. KS better dig deep in his bag of magic shit.

  43. Winder says:

Another incredibly nerve wracking game. We needed this one bad and I guess the football Gods thought so too. I thought the Rams out played for the most part. This team doesn’t have any give up to em.

  44. unca_chuck says:

The lack of pass rush will be the death of this team. I don’t know how healthy we can get before it really matters.

  45. unca_chuck says:

    Both lines are in trouble.

  46. Winder says:

yeah we are gonna need to dig deep to get the best out of everyone. Everyone knows it’s gonna come down to the 49ers against Wilson and so far Wilson usually wins that one.

  47. rtfirefly says:

Niners-Seahawks has been flexed to Sun. night on NBC.

  48. rtfirefly says:

We will be the #1,5 or 6 seed.

    Beat Seahawks and we’re #1.
    Tie Seahawks and we’re #5.
Lose to Seahawks and it depends on the Vikings. They own the tiebreaker over us due to common games. Our loss to the Falcons blew that one.

So, if the Vikes at home beat the Pack and the Bears, a loss to the Seahawks drops us to #6 and instead of spending wildcard weekend going to Dallas or Philly, we’d go to NO or GB.

GOOOOOO PACKERS tomorrow night!! That would guarantee us #5 at worst.

  49. Grumpy Guy says:

Seattle down 13 to the Cardinals with one quarter to go. But we still have to win next week.

  50. alleykat69 says:

How do you always figure out teams?
49ers can’t seem to ever win in Seattle, yet Arizona kicking their asses 27-13 have now won 5 of their last 7 up there..

  51. Grumpy Guy says:

One game lead with one to go. If we had played for the tie against Seattle, just run out the clock our last possession in OT instead of giving Wilson one more chance after the 49er incompletions gave him the ball back – we’d have clinched the division today. We’d still need to win next week for #1 seed over the Saints, though.

    • alleykat69 says:

Just like when Shanny then OC shouuld of stomped on the throats of Pats in SB! Time to win it, time to think of the standings still being undefeated but no tiebreaker scenario then..

  52. rtfirefly says:

Carson out for the rest of the season including playoffs. Seahawks are down to their #3 RB. Awww, too bad.

    • Winder says:

The Seahawks kept some of their best players out today because of injuries. Most of em should be back next week. The Rams and AZ seem to play ok up there but we sure don’t. That has to change next week.

  53. alleykat69 says:

Who did they hold out Winder?
Carson,Metcalf,Lockett,Hollister all played, not sure on their D who were out?
Carson’s loss is huge though, especially with no Penny, the 49ers should be able to shutdown their running game, though I don’t like Wilson chucking 40-50 passes and his usual magic against us..

    • NJ49er says:

      Seahawks Inactives vs Cardinals –

      WR John Ursua
      CB Shaquill Griffin
      S Quandre Diggs
      TE Tyrone Swoopes
      G Phil Haynes
      T Duane Brown
      DE Jadeveon Clowney

  54. NJ49er says:

No. 1 NFC seed: The 49ers are the current No. 1 seed in the NFC after beating the Rams on Saturday and seeing the Seahawks lose to the Cardinals on Sunday. This is pretty simple: if the 49ers beat the Seahawks on Sunday night, they will be the No. 1 seed in the NFC, by virtue of winning the NFC West and holding a tiebreaker over the Packers and Saints with head-to-head wins.

No. 5 NFC seed: The 49ers will either be the No. 1 seed or a wild card. Fun! If they lose to the Seahawks and the Vikings go 1-1, the 49ers would be the No. 5 seed in the NFC.

No. 6 NFC seed: However, if the Vikings win out, they would have a tiebreaker over the 49ers for the No. 5 seed (common games, with the 49ers going 2-3 against Atlanta, Green Bay, Washington and Seattle and Minnesota going 3-2), dropping the 49ers to the sixth seed.

  55. alleykat69 says:

    49ers haven’t won in Seattle since 2011!!
Damm their way overdue to handle them.
Their mindset better be strong 💪 and know it’s all about going thru SF to the SB and getting the extra rest…#1 seeds have a huge advantage of getting to the SB, nobody wants to go to Green Bay in Dec facing Rodgers in his house, so I think they win and win big, especially now that Seattle has no running backs left, it will all be on Wilson (scary thought) but it should be too much to overcome..

  56. Winder says:

alleykat- The players I was talking about were on defense. i didn’t watch their game but I knew Clowney was out plus a safety and CB. But I also thought that Ansah was gonna be out also and that is pretty much their pass rush. Also Wagner was a questionable start today.

    • alleykat69 says:

      Thanks Winder, NJ
Did not know their extensive injury list on defense which now got larger with on offense with both RB’s Carson ( hip crack) and Prioulsse (sp?.broken arm) their down to their 4th string guy Homer, and will have to add a back are 2 for the 49er game.

  57. 12th man says:

Just another amazing end to a game. Levi was the loudest I’ve heard it, and although it’s hard to compare, I think on par with the Stick. Levi finally has home field advantage. I also saw all 3 Niner owners on the sideline during warmups, only ever seen Jed before, never Denise or Dr. York just socializing.

One interesting tidbit, the D line coach tore into Solly for a good few mins on the sideline after a play. He was really pissed.

Jimmy certainly hasn’t played his best since NO, but one quality he has is when the Niners were behind and the crowd was less enthusiastic, you can see him getting pumped up to go out and try to score. He doesn’t have any bad body language regardless of how the game has gone. He expects to win.

    • Grumpy Guy says:

I still have nightmares about Alex Smith, letting his shoulders and head drop and looking defeated after an INT or a Three and Out.

  58. rtfirefly says:

Remarkably, the Raiders still have a fair shot to make the playoffs. Here’s what they need to happen:
    1) Steelers lose
    2) Titans lose
    3) Colts win
    4) Raiders win

    Got it? OK
    1) Steelers play the Ravens. Check
    2) Titans go to Houston. Houston won the first game handily at Tenn. Also, the Texans still have a longshot for the #3 seed. That’s the difference between playing the Bills or playing one of the above teams on Wildcard Weekend. Check.
    3) Colts play the Jaguars. Check.

Aha, the Raiders. The Raiders go to Denver, historically a place where Raider dreams go to die. I’ll be rooting like crazy in the day games for the Broncos to win. Give the Las Vegas team the sendoff they deserve.

    • rtfirefly says:

Not fair! I return out of this window to Yahoo! and see that this exact same thing is a headline. LOL, NOT FAIR! I got it from The Rich Eisen Show a couple days ago, I think (?). In any case, I double-checked all the tiebreak stuff myself. I didn’t just cut-and-paste the latest Yahoo! headline.

  59. Winder says:

Pretty sure Lynch is gonna be a seahawk again. So that means we have the opportunity to exorcise a couple of long standing demons. If we don’t win this game we deserve to be the whatever seed.

  60. alleykat69 says:

Yeah with Seahawks depleted backfield theirs a rumor Marshawn Lynch is flying up to Seattle and could suit up for the 49er game. Desperate times meets desperate measures!
I say bring it on, even if it’s more for motivation then production he will supply..

  61. unca_chuck says:

Again, it’s all about the pass rush. No rush, no win.

  62. NJ49er says:

    Seahawks may be adding Turbin

  63. alleykat69 says:

Bringing back Lynch is more just for the fans.If he gets a 1st down they will go crazy, but it won’t be substantial as he’s in “out of shape mode not Beastmode.”

  64. NJ49er says:

Seahawks bring back Robert Turbin, Marshawn Lynch after losing numerous running backs to injury

Michael Robinson is on his way . . .
