Game Day!! Morning Maryland Mayhem Madness

No idea how this one goes. But I think our defense can stop their offense enough to give us a squeaker of a win.

33-31 Niners.

(UPDATE – I was tired and a little buzzed when I wrote this last night)

I guess to commemorate the game tomorrow, they are showing Super Bowl XLVII on the NFL Network. Great movie but I hate the ending.

  1. Winder says:

If the weather turns out as nasty as predicted this one might be low scored. Haven’t got a clue as to how we are gonna be tomorrow but i know we won’t give up. looking forward to this one.

  2. Flavor says:

33-31? Shit Chuck these are still 2 good defenses. I’ll be shocked if the total gets that high

  3. Winder says:

Staley and Brieda are both out. It is gonna be another swamp game but colder than usual. i don’t really like our chances today but i have thought that about a few games this year and been wrong.

  4. unca_chuck says:

Someone is going off today. I just hope its us. Baltimore’s defense wins by forcing teams to pass all the time. Because they are down big. They give up 4.7 yards a rush, but teams don’t run when behind.

Light rain, 40 deg, 13 MPH winds? Yeah, maybe this won’t be so high scoring. And I may have been drinking some when I wrote this last night.

Pettis, Breida, Ford, and Staley are all out for today’s game. If we don’t get the run game going it will be a long day.

Gould is in, and Kittle’s off the injury report, as well as Sanders and Samuels, so let’s hope he gets a kick or 2 and it matters and we score. I’ve felt like this will be a loss all week, but who knows?

    • Winder says:

chuck- if it’s not raining hard it just might have some scoring to it. I believe in our team and i know we are good enough to win. But we have proven running QB’s give us nothing but trouble. But even if we lose I think the division is gonna come down to the Seattle game and we just got to win it other wise we play and extra game more than likely away.

  5. unca_chuck says:

Someone will be visiting Hamsterdam after this game.

    (for all you Wire fans)

  6. unca_chuck says:

    Awful weather. 20-17 SF.

  7. alleykat69 says:

    Sloppy track..21-17 Niners

  8. Grumpy Guy says:

    Nice play by Deebo. 7-0.

  9. alleykat69 says:

    DEEBO FOR 6!!!
Yeah Baby great catch great throw 33 yard beauty to help shut this crowd down!!

  10. Winder says:

    Nice start

  11. unca_chuck says:

Deebo made up for that drop in spades.

  12. alleykat69 says:

Nice shutdown drive, great play by Warner on the pass defended! Keep it up 👍

  13. alleykat69 says:

Jimmy G has to hold on to that ball, plenty of time to cover it up!!

  14. unca_chuck says:

    Yep. Mistakes kill.

  15. unca_chuck says:

Jesus Jimmy. Get a grip. Bad pass kept Sanders from getting the 1st as well.

  16. alleykat69 says:

Had Sanders for a 1st down, shit throw left him short to force the punt! Almost a pick too, G gets to lackadaisical at times..

  17. alleykat69 says:

Shit Action Jackson could run for 200 yards in this weather if he wants too..

  18. unca_chuck says:

We should have gone for it.

  19. Irish Kevin says:

The team with the least mistakes, turn overs and penalties will probably decide this game.

  20. unca_chuck says:

    Jackson is killing us.

  21. unca_chuck says:

    2 stupid mistakes.

  22. alleykat69 says:

Stupid Ass Penalty on AlShizzar hitting Jackson late!

  23. Irish Kevin says:

It does not appear any NFL team has an answer for Jackson

  24. unca_chuck says:

How do you not watch Jackson? We bite on the fake every time.

  25. alleykat69 says:

    Fucking easy score for Jackson..

  26. unca_chuck says:

Armstead and Al Shaair both ran inside on the 10 yard run. There was no one to block for the LT.

    Set the fucking edge.

We HAVE to be disciplined on defense.

  27. unca_chuck says:

If we don;t score here, we may not be in this game anymore. The defense was just on the field for most of the 1st quarter.

  28. unca_chuck says:

Yeah, baby!!!!! Hell of a run.

  29. alleykat69 says:

How about that run! Mostert with great blocking and turning on the burners 🔥for 6! Great game!

  30. unca_chuck says:

    Need to get a TO.

  31. 12th man says:

Big picture its 14 apiece and they got an easy 7 off the fumble.
    Niners O is clicking

  32. Irish Kevin says:

Well if the Niners can keep scoring it should wear down Jackson, what has been the closest game the Ravens have played

  33. unca_chuck says:

    Missing Alexander here,

  34. Irish Kevin says:

Twice they had them stopped and twice roughing the passer

  35. alleykat69 says:

Their still hanging tough, holding them to 3 was big, I like their overall play under extreme conditions..

  36. Irish Kevin says:

Like I said earlier, turnovers and penalties will/could decide this game

  37. alleykat69 says:

Mostert’s the lead back today! Running hard and explosive quickness!!

  38. unca_chuck says:

3 time outs and we burn 30 seconds on that play.

  39. Grumpy Guy says:

This will probably come down to who scores last.

  40. unca_chuck says:

Fuck, that was ridiculous. Shanny is playing like a pussy there.

  41. Grumpy Guy says:

KS playing to drain the clock and end the half on the Field Goal – but you run the risk of running out too soon. A sack now probably ends the half for us.

  42. unca_chuck says:

Terrible clock management. That’s all on Shanny.

  43. alleykat69 says:

No chance! Fucking terrible clock management by Shanny!

  44. Grumpy Guy says:

Got a little too cute with the clock management. Now the Ravens get the ball to start the second half. The defense is going to have to make a play to keep this close.

  45. Grumpy Guy says:

I’m not sure Gould would have made that from 40. He is just not right. We might have been better off keeping McLaughlin in there for another couple of weeks.

  46. 12th man says:

Shanny a bit too conservative at the end there with the clock. This game is living up to its billing, Mostert the monster, wow!

  47. unca_chuck says:

Fuck. Stay on your assignments!!!! The edge is gone when he runs.

  48. unca_chuck says:

    Yeah, baby!!!!!!!!!

  49. alleykat69 says:

Mostert is a savage running the ball for us! He’s a great mudder!

  50. unca_chuck says:

Kittle isn’t fast. Dumb play. Terrible PI call.

  51. unca_chuck says:

Wow. Bad decisions by Jimmy G. Bourne was open.

  52. unca_chuck says:

Fucking bad calls by Shanny as well.

  53. unca_chuck says:

    Jesus. Fucking horrible. 4 penalties.

  54. unca_chuck says:

Warner for the save!!! He’s a STUD!!

  55. Irish Kevin says:

I realize bad weather and L Jackson appears to be unstoppable, but if the Niners don’t get a TD it favors the Ravens. Too much running right now to try and use up the clock. Quit playing not to lose.

  56. unca_chuck says:

Don’t like that call at all.

  57. alleykat69 says:

Fuck if your going for it which you should don’t burn precious TO!!
And now their stopped Fuck !!!!!!!

  58. Irish Kevin says:

A great example on why you should be passing on 2nd down, why wait till 3rd and short or 4th and short to try the pass, The D is going to bring it.

  59. Irish Kevin says:

And now the clock favors the Ravens.

  60. Grumpy Guy says:

That “Who scores last” thing I was thinking earlier is going to kill us today. The clock just isn’t breaking our way.

  61. unca_chuck says:

    Yerp. Mistakes kill.

  62. alleykat69 says:

Doesn’t hurt to have the best FG kicker in the league setting up for a chip shot! And burning all their TO’s was totally stupid! Shanny did a terrible job on that all day!!

  63. Irish Kevin says:

Hopefully Kyle learns that he needs to score in these kinds of games, running the ball and using up the clock does not work without a lead. Bad weather, and the Ravens home field.

  64. unca_chuck says:

My 10:03 was the right score, wrong teams.

  65. alleykat69 says:

Fuck Shanny and his clock management today!!!

  66. unca_chuck says:

Shanny has to do a better job of clock management and play calling.

  67. Grumpy Guy says:

Give the Ravens credit. They’re a damned good team. We just might, just maybe, see them again in January.

  68. alleykat69 says:

Tucker is money 💰 always has been!
Still you can’t say the 49ers are still an elite team playing hard for 59:57 minutes in their house under tough conditions…

  69. 12th man says:

Great game back and forth, certainly could of gone either way. Ravens made their long FG and Niners didnt.
No team wins every game but the Niners proved their worth today and have no reason to fear anyone, including a rematch with the Ravens if that comes to pass.

  70. alleykat69 says:

If they managed the clock better at the end of the 1st half and got a closer FG attempt they would still be playing into OT..

  71. allleykat69 says:

I failed second grade English three times

  72. Winder says:

This game is gonna make us stronger.

  73. unca_chuck says:

Yeah, they played tough again in bad conditions. The hope is Shanny trusts his offense to get down and score instead of playing it safe.

  74. Irish Kevin says:

Why wasn’t this done in the 4th quarter,

The 49ers immediately responded with a 5-play, 75-yard drive that culminated in a Raheem Mostert touchdown. Garoppolo connected with Samuel, Jeff Wilson Jr. and Emmanuel Sanders as the 49ers muscled into Ravens territory. On 1st-and-10, Mostert took the handoff and dodged several defenders en route to the end zone for his fourth touchdown of the season.

  75. Grumpy Guy says:

I wish we had the 4th and 1 play to do over. As soon as I saw the shotgun I was dubious. Why not go play action to Mostert there, have Garoppolo roll out and either run it for one lousy yard or pitch it to Kittle in the flat?

But yeah, we took them down to zero on the clock. Played them way tougher than the Pats or the Seahawks, and did not crap the bed like the Rams. No reason to panic over this one.

  76. unca_chuck says:

Yeah, I didn’t like that seeing as how well we were running. But also, even play action there would freeze the LBs for a moment and maybe open up a drag route on a roll out.

    • unca_chuck says:

      Just read yours Grump. Yep.

I’m curious as to why Skittles didn’t get more opportunities. He was a monster blocking, but he should have been available for some peel-off plays.

      • NJ49er says:

They shut him down with Man coverage Chuck. CB (Peters?) on him all afternoon.
Sloppy weather and tight coverage wasn’t a great recipe for him as a receiving threat today.
To his credit, he’s a monster in the running game. Mostert had some nice help from him all afternoon.
Surprised that Sanders wasn’t more of a factor but, weather had a lot to do with it today,
Need to rebound in NOLA. Weather won’t be a factor of course but…Saints got extra rest and home field advantage for this one.
Rev up the D and get this Offense out of 1st gear for a change.

  77. Grumpy Guy says:

I’d like to see a statement game next week from this team. Take our frustrations out by beating the crap out of the Saints.

    • Winder says:

Since Brees isn’t really mobile i think they will have a very hard time with us. I am looking to see how Jimmy G responds he played a pretty damn good game against Balt.

  78. alleykat69 says:

If lowly Atlanta can go into the Saints house and lay down a “Mardi Grã Ass Whipping” I see no reason the 49ers won’t kick their asses as well.I can see Brees getting sacked 6 times a couple of picks and the 49ers rolling 42-17..

  79. unca_chuck says:

    New thread is up.
