Game Night! Green Bay of Pigs

Hey, we got flexed into prime time so disregard the sidebar game time. But I’m sure you all know that. Great to hear from 12th that the stadium is rocking these days. The game I saw, Pittsburgh, was loud, but there were a fair amount of Steeler fans there. Great fans for the most part, and it ended up being a solid win after all the turnovers.

And, here’s to hoping we learn something from the Raiders and not lay a gigantic turd. Losing 34-3 to the Jets? Ouch. Just when you think you can trust Gruden and the Raiders,  them, they grunt out an effort like that.

We got no help from the Iggles as they were stifled by the suddenly resurgent Seattle defense. Just left Seattle on Friday, driving my daughter’s car down with all her stuff as she relocates back to the Bay. Astoria and Cannon Beach in Orygun are pretty damn beautiful. Great little break from the action.

The Rams are fighting for their playoff lives tomorrow. At home against the Ravens no less. I guess it would be nice to see if someone could slow the Ravens down, but I highly doubt it.

Anyhow, I think our offense will do better than Green Bay’s defense, so we win going away. A win would further give us breathing room for home field aqws we would have a 2 game lead and head-to-head, and with the Saints looking like they are about to lose, we would be that much better down the stretch.

Carolina just missed a 26 yard FG!!! Jeeeebus.

  2. alleykat69 says:

And my fantasy kicker Lutz hits the game winner!

  3. Winder says:

The football Gods are having some fun today. Hope they shine on us tonight. No matter what happens from here on out this season has been so much better than I expected. 49er football is fun again. I think we win but i think it’s gonna be a close one.

  4. unca_chuck says:

    Pats/Cowboys. Can both teams lose?

  5. unca_chuck says:

NE gets the phantom tripping call to ice the game for them.

  6. Irish Kevin says:

Here we go, big test of the D and the O, can they get the running game going

  7. unca_chuck says:

Yeah, we need to get the run game going. Our D is better than theirs so we should win.

Mistakes and penalties need to be off the table.

  8. Winder says:

I haven’t paid much attention to the Packers this year so I really don’t know much about em. From what I hear is that their run defense is a weak point. Maybe we can get our run game back on track.

  9. Irish Kevin says:

    Nice start

  10. unca_chuck says:

    Hell of a start!!!

  11. Irish Kevin says:

Looks like it is going to be a fight after all

  12. unca_chuck says:

We need to go downfield. At least try.

  13. Irish Kevin says:

Don’t let Rodgers get in a rhythm

  14. Irish Kevin says:

The D rules!! Come on get the O rolling and put this game away

  15. chipower9 says:

Jimmy G needs to learn how to fucking get rid of the ball quicker. His decision making process makes cold molasses look fast.

D looks great tonight. Pound the fuck outta Rodgers.

  16. unca_chuck says:

Yeah, he’s slow, but the WRs need to get open faster as well. Once Kittle got involved, the passing game opened up. They threw a slant!! Ive only been talking that strategy up for 25 years now. Since John Taylor retired.

  17. unca_chuck says:

Yeah, getting those last 10 points is much better. And we get the ball.

  18. alleykat69 says:

The best thing above Deebo is he keeps Pettis supplanted on the bench!
    He’s coming on strong!💪

  19. unca_chuck says:

Criminy. Ugly start to the 2nd half.

  20. Irish Kevin says:

    Keep the pressure on Rodgers!!

  21. Irish Kevin says:

    Come on FG only!!

  22. unca_chuck says:

Jesus. 15 against 11 on that drive.

  23. unca_chuck says:

Those were terrible calls. Esp the 2nd one.

  24. unca_chuck says:

The offense needs to put this game away. The D has done their job.

  25. unca_chuck says:

    There you go, motherfuckers!!

  26. Irish Kevin says:

    Way to answer

  27. alleykat69 says:

Great misdirection call and a fantastic route and throw by both Jimmy G & Kittle!!

  28. Irish Kevin says:

The Niners had better not go 3 and out on runs, we are talking A Ridgers here

  29. Irish Kevin says:

Even a FG will put this away

  30. Grumpy Guy says:

Dominating killshot drive to ice the game.

  31. unca_chuck says:

Nice. Run it down their throats. Bam.

  32. Grumpy Guy says:

The only questions left are the Ravens, the Seahawks, and whoever the AFC puts in the Super Bowl.

  33. Winder says:

Never thought this would have been another Carolina game. This game does my heart good. since I really dislike fucking Green Bay. Niners are special.

  34. unca_chuck says:

Dammmn. A great win against a solid team. Next game is the possible Super Bowl preview.

I’m not really sold on N’Awlins. They’ve dodged a ton of games they could have lost.

  35. Barleyfreak says:

    That. Was. Fun.

  36. 12th man says:

Wow, what a game. As expected I lost my voice, as did every Niner fan there. What an atmosphere! Rivaled the stick.
This team is honestly for real. The D is crazy and the O hung 37 on the Packers.
Hell of a time to be a 9er fan!

  38. Irish Kevin says:

San Francisco’s defense held Rodgers to 20-of-33 for 104 yards and one touchdown for a passer rating of 75.8. Green Bay’s quarterback averaged just 3.4 yards per attempt, the worst in his 15-year NFL career. The Packers went 0-10 on third and fourth down in the first half on Sunday – the most attempts without a conversion by any team in an opening half in the last 20 seasons, according to NFL Research. Green Bay converted on just 1-of-15 third down conversions on the night.

Rodgers did not complete a pass over 10-plus air yards (0-for-8) for the first time in a game he finished in the Next Gen Stats era (since 2016). San Francisco has allowed only four deep completions (20-plus air yards) all season, fewest in the NFL.

Rodgers was replaced by rookie quarterback Tim Boyle as the game continued to slip away from the Packers.

  39. unca_chuck says:

So much for the Rams. Damn. They are getting pounded.

This game is gonna be a tough roadie. I have more faith in us beating the Saints.

    • alleykat69 says:

I think they might do what they did with TB&Cinn and just stay back East for those 2 games to avoid jet lag.. Hey one day extra rest for the Ravens matchup but fuck not sure if it matters their playing lights out football! But wtf were 10-1 and not chip liver so this should be a brawl of 2 great teams!

  40. Winder says:

It is a pure joy to watch the Rams get hammered.

  41. alleykat69 says:

What an Ass Whipping the Rams are taking, and it feels great!!
    35-6 laugher in the 3rd!!

  42. Grumpy Guy says:

Conference finals should be 49ers and Seahawks, Patriots and Ravens. Any of those teams could win it all with a little luck and having the hot hand at the end. Next week is pretty much a playoff game for both the 49ers and Ravens, with home field advantage implications for the actual playoffs. It’s going to be a war.

  43. unca_chuck says:

At least the Seahawks have the Vikings to contend with. Not an easy one for them. Home field, the division, the bye week. A lot at stake

I REALLY wanted the Saints to lose to the Panthers yesterday, but the kicker boofed it.

    New thread is up.
