Last Call (for some)

Last tune up game before the season starts. This will be the scrubbini special as the I’ll-never-call-them-the-fucking-LA San Diego Chargers come to town. I’m sure they will follow suit and not suit up most of their starters as the NFL deals with the new normal of starters basically playing one quarter in the 2nd game, and one half in the 3rd game.

We of course will get a big dose of the Beater tonight as he auditions for a backup spot elsewhere in the league. I really don’t think we carry 3 QBs no matter what Shanny is saying. If it comes down to that we’ll be fucked regardless and can pick up Kaepernick on the cheap.

If anything, this’ll be a battle for the 5th WR spot, or the backup RB spot. Bourne, Matthews, and Rick James are the bubble guys, along with RB Jeff Wilson are the guys who are on the bubble. Pettis is safely in, and I’d thik Rick James’ solid punt returning gets him in. The injury to McKinnon may leave the door open for Wilson if they shut down grounded Jet for another year. then again, Hurt is dealing with a back issue, and Trent Taylor is a ? as well, so maybe Bourne squeaks by as well.

The D looks pretty set, so let the scribbinis play! Cut down day is looming.

i guess we find out Saturday who makes it and Sunday for the PS. I still think we carry 3 QB’s only because it would be very disconcerting for most of the team to throw Speight out there and still try and be competitive. But what do I know.

    • NJ49er says:

Good strategy might be to hold an extra QB in hopes of doing a Trade?
      Speight is expendable IMO.
Hoping they find a deal for Beathard.

I’ll be the starter by October. Your number one and two QBs are too addicted to porn star girlfriends to care much about playing football, anyway. FYI, Nick Mullens does not have ea big dick.

    • unca_chuck says:

Gee. One-trick pony breaks out his one trick. Call me when you get some new material. You are worse than Jim Gaffigan.

      • Jim Gaffigan says:

I’m still a million times funnier than you are. And they’re already calling your QB Jimmy the Gaffe because he’s about to have a miserable season. Don’t worry, Blake Bortles is still available

Good one. zzzzzzzzzz. I see it took you 45 minutes to come up with that gem. So sorry your blog was a failure. As well as your life.

Yah, the hope is we can fleece Denver, Indy or some other desperate team.

    • NJ49er says:

We’re connected at the hip with Denver. Beathard? Maybe.
It won’t happen but….I’d try to fleece Indy for Jimmy. His entire career is hype and…we bought it.
      Couple of future 1’s?
      Try….

    • unca_chuck says:

I don’t think we travel that road yet, NJ. Inday has a very good young team, and if they get Jimmy G and win the Super Bowl i think we’d look pretty stupid.

I still haven’t watched the game. How did the Beater look?

    • rtfirefly says:

I couldn’t see it; my Internet got upgraded today, prior I had a rotten connection. 6 of 9 I believe with a drop by Bourne so it should’ve been 7-9.

But they were serious dinks and dunks (I did follow along the play by play), no yardage to speak of, and you never got the sense the Niners were really moving the ball.

      So, CJ as usual.

      • 12th man says:

He played well. His TD to Bourne was no dink or dunk but was a well placed ball and Bourne was spectacular catching it. CJ also ran it and threw the key block for the Wilson 41 yd TD. In short he looked better and tradeable.

      • rtfirefly says:

        OK, 12th. I stand corrected.
