Drop-Kick Me, Jesus, through the Goal Post of Life

The fun with Robbie Gould continues as Gould sits on the sidelines and pines for the Bears. Funny thing is, the Bears are depleted of draft picks due to the Khalil  Mack trade, and they are into Cross-bar Parkey for about $5 million in dead money after his release, AND they would likely need to pay Gould some pretty big dollars once they did trade for him.

He’s not going to sign a deal here. The question remains, will he sit for the season rather than play? He’s made somewhere in the neighborhood of $35 million in his NFL career, so, gee, I don’t feel that bad for the poor guy.  It just seems like a total weasel move to pull this kind of shit. he ain’t a WR, a pass rusher, or star corner, FFS.

Again, kicking isn’t easy, but it isn’t the clusterfuck the Bears made it out to be.

Where’s this guy?

Wonder how many Bears players want to drop kick Parkey thru the goal posts after that playoff loss?

I just saw a pic of Gould golfing at Tahoe, so he’s not glued to Chicago.

It is just another fucking distraction we don’t need. We will be able to pick up someone to kick but I bet we hold our breath most every time. It kinda sounds like somewhere along the way Gould is feeling a little butt hurt. Maybe Lynch told him to stop whining and play some ball.

I don’t get it. Esp from Gould’s perspective. He gets mad that the contract negotiation is dragging out and then demands a trade. If we give him the moon and he signs, then it isn’t about his family and being in Chicago, is it? If you want to be in Chicago so bad, retire.

Beyond that, the Bears are in a world of hurt and would have to give up a player to get him. They have no draft picks next year, and they are in a ton to Parkey. No one else in the area seems to want to trade for a kicker.

I just don’t think he sits the whole year, Mainly because there’s no guarantee that Chicago or any other team would sign him next year if he sits.

      Take a future 2 Chuck.
That usually bumps up the value anyway, simply for waiting it out.
Takes his Cap number off the books too.
Saw this coming TBH, He never relo’d the family when he got the original deal from us.

    Phil Dawson is available.

    Loved this shit after school.

It’s a whole different world now. When I was a school kid I was always outside. I would watch tv once all my friends went home, usually when it was dark. My family didn’t want me hanging around the house. We either played baseball, football, or shot some hoops. In between smoking cigarettes. They were 35 cents a pack then and between all of us we could usually did up enough for a pack.

  7. Winder says:

Thank goodness the Robbie Gould saga is over. Hope he still has his leg and can win us a couple this year. So far being a Niner he’s hit 96% of his FG trys. That is pretty fucking good.
