The New Schedule is Here!

Without furthur ado, here’s our 2019 schedule. We get the pleasure of two Monday night games: Week 5 against the Browns at home, and week 10 against Seattle at home. Our Thursday game is week 9 in AZ.

You’d think the NFL in its infinite wisdom could schedule Thursday games coming off the bye week. As it is, the players are usually banged the fuck up for that game (there’s a math problem in there somewhere that I just don’t give a shit about so maybe it doesn’t work out logistically, but whatevs).

1: @ Tampa Bay Buccaneers, 1:25 P.M., FOX, Sunday, September 8
2: @ Cincinnati Bengals, 10:00 A.M., FOX, Sunday, September 15
3: vs. Pittsburgh Steelers, 1:25 P.M., CBS, Sunday, September 22,
4: Bye week
5: vs. Cleveland Browns 5:15 P.M., ESPN, Monday, October 7
6: @ Los Angeles Rams, 1:05 P.M., FOX, Sunday, October 13
7: @ Washington, 10:00 A.M., FOX, Sunday, October 20
8: vs. Carolina Panthers, 1:05 P.M., FOX, Sunday, October 27
9: @ Arizona Cardinals, 5:20 P.M., FOX, Thursday, October 31
10: vs. Seattle Seahawks, 5:15 P.M., ESPN, Monday, November 11
11: vs. Arizona Cardinals, 1:05 P.M., FOX, Sunday, November 17
12: vs. Green Bay Packers, 1:25 P.M., FOX, Sunday, November 24
13: @ Baltimore Ravens, 10:00 A.M., FOX, Sunday, December 1
14: @ New Orleans Saints 10:00 A.M., FOX, Sunday, December 8
15: vs. Atlanta Falcons, 1:25 P.M., FOX, Sunday, December 15
16: vs. Los Angeles Rams, TBD, Saturday OR Sunday, December 21/22
17: @ Seattle Seahawks, 1:25 P.M., FOX, Sunday, December 29

Got to say, those last 6 games look pretty tough. I hope we have significantly improved to get through that stretch with a winning record. We could conceivably be 7-3 and run into that 6-game gauntlet.

I know on the last thread that I thought we might go 8-8. That could be an overly optimistic call. If all our walking wounded can be ready by opening day we might just be able to go 8-8, but that is a big if. I think we are going to have a really exciting team this year but I think it’s gonna take most of this year to utilize talents and learn how to play as a team. We are gonna have some new faces and it should be one hell of a fun year

  3. Irish Kevin says:

I am thinking 10 wins, and lose in the wild card game

  4. rtfirefly says:

That’s more like it, no record-setting blown leads this time.

  5. unca_chuck says:

Right in the middle of that. I think 9-7 is doable.

  6. rob says:

    No worse than 10-6

  7. rob says:

I wonder if we’ll take my high school buddy’s son with our #2 pick

  8. rob says:

I think I’d rather have Josh Allen !

  9. rtfirefly says:

Peter Schrager just said he’s now 99% sure Murray goes to AZ. Has no idea where Rosen may go, but he speculates that AZ might have lost leverage at this point.

The Bosa Express is getting closer… Ford, Buck, Bosa – an honest to God pass rush for a change…

  10. unca_chuck says:

Our success, or lack of it, depends on improving our pass rush. We were in a lot of games last year that we could have tipped to our favor with a solid rush.

We are close. THe NFL is so riddled with parity that any team can make the jump to the playoffs in a given year.

  11. Winder says:

Robbie Goulde saved our asses the last couple of years and I do believe he is pissed off because of the tag. For us to do well he has to be 100% committed. He is already distancing himself by not showing up for team activities. We tried to get NE’s kicker but that was just a leverage move and we really didn’t have a shot. Maybe there is still time to find someone else and trade Robbie to the Bears.

    • rtfirefly says:

I’m intrigued about the Stanford P, who was just in for the Niners’ Norcal Pro Day. He also booms kickoffs, so I’ve read. I could see us spending a 6th or bringing him in as an UDFA.

I know he’s not a K; we’ll have to address that next year. But I wanted to mention him.

  12. unca_chuck says:

We can’t use a draft pick on a punter. Gould will be fine. He’s a pro. It ain;t like he’s gonna quit on us because he wants to be back in Chicago. Unless they give us Khalil!!!

  13. Khalil Mack says:

If I have to go to the 9ers, I will win the Super Bowl.

  14. unca_chuck says:

we only have 6 picks. Go UDFA for a punter

  15. rtfirefly says:

    Pat’s early odds:
    Bosa – 50%
    QW – 25%
    Allen – 5%
    trade down – 5%
somebody who will freak us all out – 15%

    • Winder says:

Lol. Since Baalky is gone it’s probably less than 15%. But we still have the dud factor.

  16. unca_chuck says:

I think the opportunity is there for the Niners to trade down with the Giants. They desperately need a QB to develop under Manning. Allen or Sweat will be there, and we can get some more picks. I’d put the trade-down scenario at about 20%. The freak-out factor as Winder said, should be lower!

    For what it’s worth.

    • Winder says:

No matter what happens the NFL sure knows how to stretch this crap out. I still love the way the players react to where they are going though. Lynch has to get this one right.

    • Huh? says:

Excellent analysis, Chuck. It almost made some sense. Thank you!….??

  17. alleykat69 says:

    test for chuck’s site

  18. alleykat69 says:

I’m getting a little stoked that it’s finally a couple days away! Feeling a little like the top dog “GM Kevin Costner in Draft Day”!
It would be great if Lynch shows some cojones like Costner did and rule the draft in the end!!

  19. unca_chuck says:

Yeah, Still a ton of uncertainty around this draft and what will happen. The biggest -if- is about AZ and their QB situation. They’ve been (maybe) shopping Rosen in advance of getting Murray, and Kliff Klavin wants his guy. Maybe. Or it is all smoke and mirrors to get the Raiders/Giants to trade up to get him.

Raiders? Same deal. Do they really want to start over at QB? Carr is or isn’t their guy, and he and Gruden certainly have their differences, but a ground-zero approach their last season at the Mausoleum would be pretty harsh for the fans. Not that Prince Valiant or Chucky give a shit about the fans.

The Giants are even more desperate. They keep saying they are fully behind Eli. But seriously they need a new QB. Eli has no weapons now and a porous line. He looks to get slaughtered. Actually, that may be their strategy. Go 1-15, get the #1 pick next year, and draft Justin Herbert from Orygun. Sucks for Eli, but oh well.

We could very well fall into the mix for the Giants and the Raiders (as well as Washington) who are in need of a QB to trade down with to garner more picks. The phones will be burning up. Those guys that paid $22 k to sit in the 49ers war room should get their money’s worth.

    Gonna be fun.

    • rtfirefly says:

The Giants are in the #TankForTua, no doubt. They’re one of the frontrunners in the race to the bottom. They need to overhaul both lines for starters. QB can wait a year.

  20. Winder says:

Robbie Gould want to be traded. That is really bad news
ESPN’s Adam Schefter, Gould has “pulled his contract proposals and “told the team he will not negotiate or sign a long-term deal.” Gould has evidently been hurt by the 49ers’ offers. A kicker power play is the rarest of NFL maneuvers and unlikely to be successful. Although he has been truly elite over the past two season, converting 96 percent of his field goal attempts, Gould’s already limited trade value is hurt by the fact that 2019 will be his age-37 season.

  21. alleykat69 says:

All I know for sure Lynch has to get off his hard on approach of drafting Stanford players just cause he went there! He’s 0-2 with high picks Garnett & Thomas and now he’s jizzing over that WR from Stanford( cant pronounce his name)as well, when theirs plenty of better talent then him at the position !Dont fuck up your 3rd draft are you might be out after this season.

    • Winder says:

I think Baalky drafted Garnett but he did draft Foster which at the time seemed like a steal. I really can’t blame him for that one.

    • unca_chuck says:

Garnett was Baalke. D linemen often take a while to develop. At least that’s my hope,

The guy on the hot seat is Saleh. He needs toi do more with what he has,

  22. rtfirefly says:

Wow! Frank Clark to the Chiefs! Russell Wilson’s massive contract paying dividends already. That’s 14 sacks we no longer have to face twice a year.

  23. unca_chuck says:

Damn. We should have got him.

  24. unca_chuck says:

    Good news, though.

  25. Seaddle Seahawks says:

You guys are relieved that one guy from Seattle left the team? It just proves that you not only can’t beat the Seahawks because they’re simply the superior team with a better fan base but also because the 49ers are wimps who can’t even take care of one guy like Frank Clark.

  26. Jed York’s Cabana says:

That’s right, Chuck! You are right to mock the Raiders ownership and management for not caring about their fans. It’s not like I fleeced the city of Santa Clara and built a rushed shithole next to a worn out theme park in the middle of nowhere. I care so much about Niner fans that I only quadrupled season ticket prices at Levi’s Heatstroke Stadium.

Btw, the new Las Vegas stadium looks beautiful. Maybe I should have paid more attention to Mark Davis before I built that shipwreck in Santa Clara.

    • rtfirefly says:

The only Black Hole you’ll find in Lost Wages is the abyss where the money your new spectators will throw all their money, while your new real fans, the bookies, will gobble it up.

    • unca_chuck says:

That stadium will be a ghost town within 4 years. They’d have been better off in Carson.

  27. Winder says:

I actually wish the Raiders the best of luck. But the way they handled McKenssie(sp) was circus like in my opinion, the guy was a good football mind and took the franchise out of the shitter. We will find out what Gruden is all about in the next couple of years. I still think that Mayock(sp) is more or less just a strawman but at least he’s Gruden’s strawman.

  28. unca_chuck says:

Gruden looks to be little more than a glorified Mike Singletary at this point.

I’m real curious what happens with Carr and the draft.

    • Jim Harblaughhh says:

He won’t lead the Raiders to multiple championships the way I did with the 49ers…oh wait, I did the same thing Mike Singletary did, which was absolutely nothing

    • unca_chuck says:

Well, I wouldn’t go that far, skippy. Harbs did get us into the NFC Championship game 3 years in a row. Aluminum Mike dropped trou.

You ain’t even a very good troll.

Andy Isabella with 3500+ Yds & 30TDs paired with Wes Welker is tasty too IMO.
Guessing Belichick has him on his radar too.
Lot’s of WR options to consider.
Be nice to deal for another Pick in the top 4 RDs too.
Hope Lynch can pull it off.

  32. rtfirefly says:

I believe we’ve met with 14 WRs, tied for most in the league. 2nd round is looking likely at the least. We’ve met with a bunch of TEs as well. 5th? 6th?
