The Post – Super Bowl Winter Blues

There’s a big block of calendar space that yields nothing in the way of football news, unless:

a) The AAF floats your boat
b) The NFL’s payoff of Kappy and Eric Reid is sticking in your craw
c) There just isn’t enough air time for Mel Kiper and his majic hair helmet.Gimme MORE!!

Our needs are many, (pass rusher, shutdown CB, safety, WR, O line) and there are several avenues in how to deal with them, but we have 2 months before the draft, and a month before free agency. Sure, the combines are coming up, but really, we are in the doldrums.

Winder, keep those videos coming!  Those old names crack open old memories . . .

Here’s the pre-game show from the 1970 playoff game with some other cool stuff.

PS, Ray Scott, the announcer in this, is Twinfan’s father.

Wow that was fun, I had never seen that one before. But I do remember that team and how good they were. Still funny to see all those mud games. Lots of great players in that video

    • 12th Man says:

I was at that game, how about you?

    • Jimmuh Johnson says:

Of course I was there—I coached my Cowboys into destroying your futile dynasty and started my own in Dallasss. You got lucky with building a super team in ‘94 and if Jerruh J hadn’t been so nuts and let me go we would’ve won four in a row. And then Green Bay came in and slapped yer teams down, boy

  2. Winder says:

Fuck it, I just like to watch how everyone played the game back then. Some very tough men that played through a shitload of injuries. Doesn’t matter if they are 9ers or not.

Winter Blues it is Chuck. Walter Trout / Eric Gales show in the books.
Coco Montoya and Tinsley Ellis in early April.
Still working on KWS and Buddy Guy too.
Along with stat crunching in Indy on the horizon.
Winter can’t end soon enough….It blows.

Nailed 3rd row seats for Coco/Tinsley too. Can’t wait for that one to get here 😀

Love Coco Montoya. Saw him a few years back in Sacto.

Got Gary Clark Jr and Neil Young to look forward to end of March.

  6. Winder says:

Not the best year but still fun to watch

  7. NJ49er says:

    A little slide work on a nifty Gibson…. 😀

Here’s a Bay Area native I’ve seen several times, and will see again, when the timing is right –

This song (Ride) is off his Method to My Madness album which is very good –
He’s got a new release coming next week (which I did a pre-order on) to get an autographed copy 😀
Hence I’m reminded how much I love his stuff.
The new release, (3/1) is Killn’ It – Live (which is their first too).
He puts on a great show so I’m sure this one will be fun.

      • NJ49er says:

Robin Trower has a new release coming later in March as well –
Sure am lucky to have these Old Rockers keeping me young too 😀
Can’t beat the Yamaha equipment I’m playing it on now too.
The 60’s/70’s Hi-Fi I thought was the sh!t then, is now Dolby (fuk’n awesome) Surround Sound 😀
        Life is GOOD…..

      • NJ49er says:

Great title from Robin too…Hoping it means Lombardi #6 😀
