This one I think IS a bloodbath. As good as we played, I wonder if the offense crashes back to earth after 2.5 quarters of some good football the other night. The defense came around for a little bit once we started getting pressure on ol’ one-leg, but Jared Goff is young and spry and has a much more talented receiver corps to throw to.
I don’t see how we can even stay in the same area code, let alone win. Sure, we will hang in there for a little while, but in the end we will get toasted.
44-17 Rams.
Control Gurley or our Defense gets no rest.
Best chance we have is TOP.
Move CJ around and stifle their Dline.
If not?
Track meet/blowout.
They can be run on. Can we sustain it is the key.
The Rams lead the league in rushing (don’t look now but we’re third!). Stop Gurley, and the one thing we can defend is the run, and we have a chance.
Talk about being careful what you ask for. Forcing the Rams to pass is like forcing me to drink beer.
It’s fun for a while but it usually ends up a big fucking mess . . .
Extra hits on Gurley once he’s down in the pile like in “Longest Yard” might be the best solution!! Then have CJ Fire 🔥 a couple back to back in Aaron Donald’s nuts 🥜 and we might have a chance!
Lol, I was thinking something similar. Highly doubtful we win so why not just play a MIke Singletary(sp) type of game and just hit every stinking Ram in the mouth on every play. I mean make em feel it.
Breida is tied for 7th in the league in rushing on fewer carries than any of the leaders. He’s 8 yards behind Saquon Barkley on 21 fewer carries.
We do one thing really well anyway. Kyle’s outside zone is dynamite, and that’s with an UDFA and no McKinnon.
As is pretty obvious in this NFL, teams are fairly close in talent. Coaching can get you some wins, but most games come down to a play here and a play there. And a call here and a call there.
Last game? The Sherman call, and the pick.
I mean, the hope is we play a good game at home and keep it close. but after this last loss it’ll be hard for the guys to stay in this one I’d think.
Coming that close on the road, much like the Minn game, has to hurt.
The plan should be the same though. Run to keep the ball out of Goff’s hands.
Saleh needs to redo some things about this pass rush. He has the bodies. But we have given up 20 sacks to 12 caused. Created 3 turnovers to giving up 11.
These numbers are awful. These are all bottom of the league. Either Warner of Foster need to blitz just about every obvious passing down, and on first down.
Shanny on the other hand needs to manage the flow of the game better. Quicker pases would help The Beater. C holds the ball too long anyway. 7 step drops on 3rd snd 10 usually result in sacks for us. Quicker passes, or BLOCKED rollouts would help. Juscuyzyck has been very good catching passes (cough, fumble, cough) and getting good yards. Use him more as a safety valve. I like the deep shots, but Beater isn’t Dan Marino. Limit those to recognized coverage breakdowns. And either overthrow Goodwin or don’t throw it. If CJ throws the pass earlier and deeper, Goodwin gets a TD on the 3rd and 3.
Funny thing about this season is, our best statistical game was our worst loss.
To the motherfucking Cardinals. Who were just embarassed by the Broncos last night.
And now, the morning after, AZ has a new offensive coordinator. Like it will help.
And Rosen was injured with 1:48 left in the game, awaiting an MRI.
Couldn’t hurt. Almost like I’d like to see a new DC here.
Ahhh. didn’t see that. Why the fuck was he still in there for the waxing? They should have put Ichabod Crane back in there.
Carlos Hyde traded to Jacksonville for a 5th Rd pick.. Jesus the guy couldn’t hang in his home state very long.
Hmmmm. Seems od. Hyde was doing fine. THey want Chubb starting I guess.
Yeah, they do want to give Chubb a lot more carries plus it’s a salary dump. Good move for the Browns at this point.
forgot about the 5th rounder they got. I think Jax got fleeced
New thread is up.
