THose last 9 games we can make some hay. . .

  2. Winder says:

I think Chicago might take the division this year. I am not counting that one as a win. Playing in KC and GB is tough and I truly doubt we take the Vikings. I am still undecided about the Chargers. I think we take the Raiders, Giants, Lions, both AZ games, split with Seattle, the Bucs, and the Bronco’s. that make 8-8 at the moment. I don’t think we have the horses to beat the Rams this year. Remember, it’s only year 2 of a total rebuild.

  3. unca_chuck says:

We almost beat the Rams with Hoyer. I think we can take them at home,.

    • Winder says:

      That would be sweet.

    • Winder says:

To beat the Rams we are gonna have to play fast. With the additions of Suh, and the two CB’s we aren’t gonna have a whole lot of time to develop plays. They really shored up their defense. To beat them our running game is gonna have to be good.

  4. zumiee says:

    Five prime-time games! Very cool.

  5. Winder says:

There is someone on espn that is predicting us to go 10-6. For that to happen I really think the ball is gonna have to bounce our way. I don’t like espn much and take no stock in what they say but the guy make a couple of good points about the KC game. I think he’s totally wrong about the Bear game though. I tried to get the link but it wouldn’t let me.

  6. unca_chuck says:

It’s all about the defense. I think the offense can be decent to good enough to put up points. I’m unclear about the defense. ESP CB and pass rush.

  7. NJ49er says:

Well…here’s the first step to avoiding prosecution I guess?
    Can Foster dodge the DA?

  8. unca_chuck says:

I just think if we had a consistent pass rush, we’d be on our way. 10-6.

  9. 12th Man says:

    The current W-L line:
    http://www.sportingnews.com/nfl/news/2018-nfl-win-totals-betting-lines-over-under-vegas/11rkiluxul8yt10bmkjvetd7ow

    NFC West:
    Cards 5 1/5 games
    Squawks 8 1/2 games
    Niners 8 1/2 games
    Rams 9 1/2 games

    • Winder says:

That looks about right to me. I think the Rams and over is probably the best bet right now.

      • 12th Man says:

        My 2c.

Im not sold on the Rams as “improved” yet. The dream team thing has a tendency to flop, largely because of team chemistry competing with player ego’s. I thought the Rams should have just tweaked what they had but instead they made large changes in key areas and with known oversize ego type players, overreacting to Jimmy G.

        It’s a risk.

A young and inexperienced head coach will have a hard time reigning in some of those guys, especially if they lose a game or two early on.

I’m also not convinced the Squawks have the horses to go over .500 this year but expect them to play hard, a lot of prior winning and pride up there.

Niners have a shot at the wildcard, and maybe the division, even at 9 or 10 wins if the health gods are kind. The Niners went the “tweak” route, which as a strategy is the safer bet if you agree the squad was close to competitive. Certainly over the long haul it has a higher percentage of paying off than swinging for the fences ala the Rams. Swing and a miss is more likely.

Looking forward to seeing the draft and watching it all progress over summer and pre-season. Some very good games at home this year, would be nice to see a few more wins.

  10. unca_chuck says:

I’m with you, 12th. The Rams squeaked out a lot of close wins last year, including our early game, and took a lot of people by surprise. They aren’t sneaking up on anyone this year.

We may not be all the way back yet, and let’s see what happens with the draft, but I think we can hang with the rest of the west at least.

  11. Robert De Luca says:

    from NFL.com
    • The San Francisco 49ers will have Chewbacca, stormtroopers, and R2D2 announce picks; by that point, Chewbacca himself ought to be a decent late-round pickup.

  12. Winder says:

I just hope all you guys are right. I would love nothing more than to see the Rams fall flat on their faces

  13. NJ49er says:

Jimmy goes throwing/passing Camp-ish before the Draft.
    The Media takes notice.
Jed must be drooling on himself….

    • NJ49er says:

5 Primetime games coming in ’18 AND pre-Draft Media coverage?
Uncle Eddie would be P-R-O-U-D 😀

  14. Berger says:

Anybody watch Kyle Lauletta of Richmond or Kurt Benkert of Virginia play QB. Not sure if I spelled their names correctly. I like Lauletta better than any QB in the draft and Benkert is right there for a round or two lower.

    • Winder says:

I have a feeling that Lauletta is the QB NE is gonna take. He was being talked about a couple of months ago but then it just stopped. I haven’t heard his name mentioned at all.

  15. Rob says:

about a day and a half until thursday !

  16. I don’t understand, Kaepernick and the York’s disgraced our team and started an Anti-American campaign in the NFL and you people continue on like nothing happened.

  17. unca_chuck says:

Because, we’ve all moved on, fucknut. Does Kaepernick play for the 49ers? Did he play for the 49ers last year? No. The 49ers released him. Remember? Now be a good boy, and tell mommy to warm up your oatmeal.

    New thread is up.

  18. Mr, Unca-Chuck, you don’t have to be so rude and use name calling just because you disagree with someone’s opinion. You seem like a very angry man when you do those types of things and your site seems unwelcoming to differen’t opinions.
