Game Day — Train Wrecks R Us

Well, Little to look forward to but the carnage. Word is, THIS game will decide the fate of our coaching staff. Funny, it isn’t the turd they laid last week in Cleveland.

Apparently, Tomsula and Co were slated to return after the decent performance in Chicago, but after talk of overconfidence and their shit play, they are not committed.

My Only hope is this extends to Trent Baalke as well. So, what do I want to happen? Who cares? This is just like that car crash you don’t want to look at, but do.

Jay Cutler’s playing on glue again. He throws a screen to a d lineman 4 feet away from him. So much for Adam Gase and his revamped offense.

  2. unca_chuck says:

Giants all of a sudden coming to life.

  3. Winder says:

I don’t think we have to worry much about looking good out there today. I hope we win but I also hope we lose, that’s a really fucked up place to be.

    • unca_chuck says:

Yup. I never root against them but it would be prudent for them to lose their remaining games so this coaching staff/front office gets their walking papers.

  4. unca_chuck says:

Giants tie Carolina! Hell of a game. Down 28 in the 3rd, they come back to tie. 1:45 left.

  5. Nipper says:

I am hoping for a win but then again I’m like that. Another meaningless win is so delicious.

  6. Nipper says:

“Hold Jed York Accountable” Banner flying above the stadium?

  7. Irish Kevin says:

Chuck I posted a video on FB!

  8. rob says:

Can we pull this off today ?

  9. Irish Kevin says:

The Corner and the safety were arguing about who should have been covering

  10. rob says:

Tartt was a bit off there
    Nice donte

  11. Irish Kevin says:

I still believe the Niners are the only team that teaches their WR’s to sop a yard short of the first down marker to catch passes!!

  12. rob says:

    Bowman and Purcell at DE

  13. snarkk says:

Vance McD has worse hands than Vernon. Please cut his ass in the offseason, the guy is hopeless catching the ball. Or convert him to a backup lineman…

  14. zumiee says:

Niner receiver had alligator arms on that pass over the middle, causing the interception. Not the QB’s fault.

  15. unca_chuck says:

Wow. is it still empty liekk that, Kevin?

    3rd and 6, 4 pass.

This offense is horrendous. Defense doing its Jeckyll Hyde thing

  16. unca_chuck says:

Jesus. This is one ugly game. Fucking joke.

  17. unca_chuck says:

    6 penalties? Wow.

Can’t see this coaching staff surviving.

  18. snarkk says:

It will take two very good drafts, wise FA acquisitions over two seasons, and an entire organizational change to get this team back to playoff quality. I don’t see that happening…

  19. unca_chuck says:

    Gabbert reverting to form.

  20. unca_chuck says:

And that isn’t even the picks

  21. unca_chuck says:

The Niners have a ton of cap space next year.

No team is very far from relevancy.

    • snarkk says:

This team has so many holes, one offseason can’t fix it. That’s assuming the fixer knows what he’s doing, even with cap space. Baalke isn’t going to fix this in one season. He should be shown the door with the entire front office…

  22. unca_chuck says:

Amazing how fast a bad line ruins a QBs confidence. Bold in was wide open.

  23. snarkk says:

I’ll admit, I hope now that the Niners just crater into an embarrassment the rest of the season. They have to hit a low so low that Jed has no choice under withering criticism but to clean the Santa Clara stable of the stench, and start over from top to bottom…

  24. Irish Kevin says:

6 mins left in the 3rd quarter and people are leaving in mass!

  25. Nipper says:

On TV there sure are a lot of empty seats in the lower sections. Fans are yawning in the stands. People look cold and disgusted.

  26. unca_chuck says:

    Stoopid Lemonier.

  27. snarkk says:

Nice of the Niners to lay a steaming pile in the home game they celebrate Montana, Rice, Lott in the building. Good timing. Rice could still probably get open better than the current WRs. When is the last time the Niners had a really good receiving group? When TO was around? Seriously, the Niner offense has pretty much been crap since Mooch was around. How is it that Crabby goes across the Bay and turns into a near All-Pro, where last season he couldn’t get a pass thrown into his area code?…

  28. rob says:

    God hates us

  29. Flavor says:

bummed we don’t get the Pitt/Denver game over this shit sandwich we’re forced to eat…..

  30. snarkk says:

Niners will never get anywhere without an elite quarterback. It just doesn’t work any other way in the NFL, unless you have an absolutely dominant defense. Look at the top teams, all have an elite or near elite QB. So, drafting a QB should be the #1 priority. Draft linemen thereafter, and get some in the FA market. Thing is, no FA in their right mind will come to this dysfunctional outfit without a thorough house cleaning after the season ends…

  31. unca_chuck says:

How is it we have no o e better at RTthan Pears?

    He’s fucking awful.

    Gabbert looks like shit

  32. unca_chuck says:

Gabbert hasn’t hit s guy in stride all day

  33. unca_chuck says:

    Hey. He did there

  34. unca_chuck says:

    Goff is in play, snarkk

    • snarkk says:

I hope. Let Gabbert get clobbered another year while the organization rights itself, hopefully, and Goff wears a Sharpie and carries a clipboard. Get a coaching staff in here that can coach the kid up, and keep him upright…

  35. unca_chuck says:

Hey now. That blocked FG looms

  36. Nipper says:

    The Game is over! Yippie!

  37. Nipper says:

    Another loss……sniff….BOO HOO……like goes on …….yeah I know…. death, taxes, bills……Bull shit.

  38. snarkk says:

Seriously, the Niner post-game radio guys are diggin’ the Niner D like they just held the ’90s Cowboys to only 24. McCarron was in his first NFL start, and Eylert wasn’t playing. This Niner D is definitely better than the O, but it’s got a ways to go. The Offense needs replacement of just about every player on the starting 11. Maybe Staley could stay. The offense just does not have the talent to get anything done…

    • rob says:

On offense I like Hyde , Miller, Staley, Boone, Kilgore,T Smith, Boldin
      Maybe Tiller
      and both our QB’s
To me that leaves RT as our biggest need .
We should look at a TE as well

      • snarkk says:

Boone will go elsewhere. Smith can’t catch the ball. Greg Cosell who watches more film than anyone on the planet said on KNBR this week Boldin is no longer a viable NFL wideout – I agree. I would can every single one you mentioned, except Hyde. Tiller hasn’t been playing long enough for a good look, maybe he can compete. I forgot about Hyde, since he’s been out so long. This offense is the worst in the NFL in many categories. It has to be tossed out…

  39. Flavor says:

    hahahaha YAAAASSSSS!!!!!!!!
Cam Inman ‏@CamInman 3m3 minutes ago
Torrey Smith: We love our fans to death. But we played in an empty stadium. I don’t blame them.

  40. Nipper says:

Jed York, your Niners owner. That says it all.

  41. Flavor says:

why would THIS GAME decide the fate of the coaching staff? That makes no sense at all. I’m no Big Sweaty apologist but he’s running out a team full of stiffs and rookies. He needs to stick to no longer farting during pressers and find someone who can counsel him on when to throw a fucking challenge flag. But other than that, I haven’t seen anything that points the finger directly at him as the problem. I’d fire Balkke 10 times before I’d fire Big Sweaty…….

  42. snarkk says:

I just heard Krueger on KNBR go through the list of all the OLmen Baalke has drafted, and only two are really around much now. Really an indictment of Baalke’s ineptitude. And, the guy hasn’t drafted a single wideout worth a crap. It’s like the Giants inability to develop an outfielder. Baalke is signed through 2016, BTW…

    • Flavor says:

I could care less if he was signed through this millennium. Baalke needs to go. His hubris is annoying, his drafts are darts shot deep into the night. I’m done with this dumbass.

  43. unca_chuck says:

I’ve said before that Tomsula isn’t the only problem, but this coaching staff isn’t endearing itself to anyone when they come out like they did last week. That game was a bigger indictment of this coaching staff than anything else this year. Throw in all the blowouts, and these happened with the team at better strength, and you have a team that isn’t prepared week to week.

  44. unca_chuck says:

4th and 1 from the 6 and DeMarco Murray, the $42 million man, is watching from the sidelines. Chip is barely using him. It’s like the only reason they signed him was to get him out of Dallas.

    • Flavor says:

it was an idiotic signing. He’s not quick enough to work in Chip’s schemes. Makes you wonder how smart you have to be to be the guy making the big decisions in the NFL…..

  45. unca_chuck says:

The Eagles did give Chip all the authority. He’s made some weird moves to say the least.

  46. unca_chuck says:

What I think is funny is people think that all this team is missing. Is Harbaugh.

Like he could coach this team of 3rd stringers and scrubs to the playoffs.

Last year’s team had boatloads more talent that this year’s , and with the injuries he got to 8-8. Take away half that talent and throw in a shitload of injuries this and you get a mess.

Some people think this team has the talent of the 2012 team.

    Laughable.

  47. unca_chuck says:

And like clockwork, Constant fear starts up with his usual lues and bullshit.

He’s so smart he still can’t admit this team wasn’t as talened as the Super Bowl team.

And that was before the injuries. Dipshit. Revisionistaa the lot of ’em.

  48. unca_chuck says:

Eagles hell bent on giving this one away.

  49. snarkk says:

Seriously, this next draft and FA period has to be used to fix this talent bereft offense. I’m tired of a team that cannot score, and cannot make basic offensive plays that most of the NFL can do in its sleep. I’m not asking for the ’88 Niners offense. Just a credible offense with good play calls that maybe comes in at around 15th or 12th in the league in offensive yards, and points scored. The defense isn’t too far away from being pretty good. But, you can’t win if your offense sucks balls…

  50. snarkk says:

I love these post game statements about lack of execution. Bring in the old John McKay line about how yes, he’d agree on some executions. Lack of execution is just a cop out for lack of talent. If you aren’t very good, you don’t execute very well, aka you have a crappy team. When the ’80s and ’90s SB teams had poor execution, they only won by two TDs…

  51. unca_chuck says:

Baalke has had one good draft, one horrible one and 3 below average ones.

He’s done nothing to improve the offense. But a lot of that is coaching as well.

Ginn is tearing up the league with Carolina. He couldn’t catch a cold here. We refuse to do a lot of deep passes. Even when we had a decent line. I think Ginn caught one deep pass in 3 years here, and it was called back.

    • snarkk says:

I just looked — Ginn has 37 receptions for a 17.4 yards/catch average, and 8 TDs. That’s mind blowing compared to his crap stay with SF. Crabby is tearing it up in Oakland. As I said above, I’m sick of crap Niner offenses that attempt ball control, but don’t have the talent to actually do it, and have virtually no imagination in play calling…

      • Lurker John says:

The coaches suck, the GM sucks, the owner sucks. Something can be done about 2 of the 3. If nothing is done after this season, then I’ll have some serious doubts about York’s motivations. He’s alienating an entire fan base and embarrassing the greatest franchise in the NFL. He needs to either sell the goddamn team or grow some balls and start making some quality moves. From Baalke on down, gone, save for maybe Tom Rathman. Get them the fuck out of Santa Clara. They’ve tried and it hasn’t worked.

Tomsula and his gang are overmatched. I mean what kind of sad sack team gets overconfident after beating a shit Bears team then gets drubbed the following week by a shit Browns team? They have zero to be cocky about. That ultimately comes down to the coaching staff, and this one is not able to keep their players on an even keep and prepared from week to week. Time to can the whole bunch.

  52. Lurker John says:

Ginn is having a good year, but he only has 43 catches and 730 yards after 14 games. The 10 TD’s are impressive, but I wouldn’t say he’s tearing up the league. Antonio Brown is tearing up the league.

  53. unca_chuck says:

Compared to what he did here, he’s tearing up he league.

Why is Palmer still in there?

  54. ewisco says:

the thing about a good train wreck is that you can’t take your eyes off of it while it unfolds. with the 9ers, not wanting to watch so much. and it’s all on baalke.

    • rob says:

You guys are on to something here with ginn and crabs.
It was the offensive coaching that was the problem even under harbaugh. Not the players or even Baalke

  55. rob says:

The 49ers surrendered just 242 yards to the Bengals, Cincinnati’s lowest production of the season and the best stoppage of the year by the sharply focused 49ers. They held the Bengals to 14 first downs and 1.9 yards per rush.In the first quarter, the Bengals went for it on 4th-and-1 from the 49ers’ 27. It’s the type of risk-taking that can put a team in charge of a game, but 49ers linebackerNaVorro Bowman, with help from inside linebacker Gerald Hodges, stuffed ballcarrierGiovani Bernard for a 1-yard loss. The 49ers were not surprised. They knew the Bengals like to go for it in that situation, but the 49ers still took it as an insult.“Yeah, I mean, it’s somewhat disrespectful to the defense,” safety Eric Reid said, “when we’re on the field and you go for it on fourth down. We stood up.”Bowman and Hodges combined for 22 tackles

    Rob

  56. Lurker John says:

Per CBS, Tomsula likely to return next year. Unbelievable.

  57. unca_chuck says:

I can’t even begin to think they’ve made that decision yet. If so, well let’s hope for 2017?

  58. unca_chuck says:

I admire your optimism, ROB, and I agree in part with the defense But Baalke has failed to get impact players on offense in 5 years of drafts and free agency. Draughn is about the best thing he’s done besides Boldin.

  59. unca_chuck says:

The inference being I’d Tomsula is safe after this season, then certainly Baalke is.

2018 or bust. Maybe a couple seasons of empty seats and angry fans will get something done. Then again, we are likely fucked.

  60. Lurker John says:

I think Baalke has a job for life. Bringing back Tomsula with Baalke at the helm would send a message loud and clear to the fan base. I mean, there’s planes flying over every home game denouncing York, and he doesn’t have a clue about these things? Does he care?

  61. unca_chuck says:

Yeah, it’s hard to figure now that Jed is in hiding. The only solace i can find of his recent actions is that he demoted Marathe. He’s been Jed’s little sidekick for years and years.

If he can toss Marathe aside, the hope is he can do the same with Baalke. I just hope it is sooner rather than later.

  62. Nipper says:

Meanwhile on the other blog, Skeebs is gleefully enjoying the sparse crowds and the angry banners flying overhead in Santa Clara. There’s nothing like a loss to excite his blog to new life. One has to get enjoyment some way in this totally futile season. Go JED!

  63. Nipper says:

Sir Spit by the way is seriously thinking of becoming a Raiders or Chargers fan. He’s jumping ship as only he can do………the only question will he land with a splash or a loud thud? Ouch!

  64. unca_chuck says:

He’s been saying that for 5 years. He promises to leave yet writes another 500,000 word screen on why he won’t post anymore (PLEASE LOOK AT ME!!!).

What I find hysterical and moronic to the extreme is the fact that the Revisionistas feel that all that is missing from the team is Harbaugh. As if he could coach this team to the playoffs. Harbaugh had 3x the talent of this team last year, and coached them to an 8-8 record. With this team he’d be, well, somewhere around 4-10. To think otherwise is stupid and childish. Good coaches fail with lousy teams. Too many players got old or left. The team wasn’t replenished with talent. This is on Baalke.

But the lollipop brigade keeps up with the whining for Harbaugh as if he walks on water.

    New thread is up.

  65. unca_chuck says:

Oh buwwit, do the world a favor and shut the fuck up forever.

You have the mental capacity of a gerbil. Harbaugh coached a decent team to an 8-8 record. The talent left and retired. In your head this is a super bowl contending team missing a head coach. How stupid are you?

Very. If you had a little awareness you’d see the team is yet again beset with injuries. Throw in the aging of the roster and absolutely no depth and what do you get? A team that isn’t good. In your ducked up brain St Jim would cure all this.

Get back on the short bus, skippy.
