Game Day. What is and What Should Never Be

Much will be made of this game, seeing as the Bears coaching staff could have pretty much been ours had Jed apparently  not stepped in it.  Bears fans are encouraged by their 5-6 record while we are, well, where we are.

Jay Cutler is apparently reborn with his stellar 5-5 record. Whatever. The song remains the same in this one. If the road defense remains vastly incompetent, then we will lose big. AZ, Atl,  and GB certainly have better offenses than Chi-town, and we were able to throttle them. If the D can keep us in the game, and it could be our first roadie. As usual it comes down to the line play. Protect Gabby and get some pressure on JC.

  1. Irish Kevin says:

That was a terrible stat, the Niners have not scored a TD in the 1st quarter all season!!!

  2. unca_chuck says:

    Wow. No offense so far.

  3. unca_chuck says:

Wish we would open up aggressive.

  4. Irish Kevin says:

What the hell is wrong with pass longer than 2 yards or a screen? Throw the ball down the field!!

  5. unca_chuck says:

    -11 yards of offense

  6. Irish Kevin says:

Well thank you D for breaking the 0-4 TD’s in the 1st quarter

  7. unca_chuck says:

    Wow fucked that up

  8. Irish Kevin says:

Are we the only ones watching the game Chuck? Where is everyone?? Ha ha

  9. Nipper says:

In Geneoushire NIner games are forbidden. Sir Spit doesn’t allow his subjects to watch anything but Jerry Springer.

  10. unca_chuck says:

Yeah, how quickly they turn. A 3rd down conversion!

  11. unca_chuck says:

Sweet. Nice drive. Nice :TD down conversions.

  12. unca_chuck says:

Wouldn’t be a game without a bullshit call. The guy was still falling.

  13. unca_chuck says:

HATE that 3 man rush. Acker did nice.

  14. unca_chuck says:

Wow gave away a TD there . That was a live ball.

  15. Flavor says:

what was dumbass Tomsula challenging there?

  16. rtfirefly says:

Seahawks are winning the game at the LOS, but they have an extra six men on the field in stripes.
Drive 1: 1) 3rd down deep in their own territory: Incomplete pass, Defensive Holding AWAY FROM THE BALL, auto first down
    7-0
Drive 2: 1) COMPLETED PASS, Unnecessary Roughness, D back hit the receiver (WITH THE BALL) too hard, 15 yards
    2) 3rd down, FG position: Wilson sacked, D lineman has him by the legs and Wilson’s stopped, whistle blows, D lineman starts to let go, Wilson TRIES TO RUN WITH THE BALL, D lineman GRABS HIS LEGS AGAIN, NOTHING MORE, Unnecessary Roughness, auto first down
    14-0

Nothing like taking Minn’s ball control, running offense out of its game. Now it’s 21-0. What’s the point with calls like that?

  17. unca_chuck says:

Tine out off the 2 min warning?

  18. unca_chuck says:

    Ball out. Same fucking play.

  19. unca_chuck says:

Hate that call but those are the rules these days.

  20. unca_chuck says:

Play action would have been nice there.

  21. rob says:

    What’s wrong with lynch ?
Purcell is making a good impression

  22. unca_chuck says:

    All ducking day to throw.

  23. rtfirefly says:

Two more phantom calls on the Vikings’ first drive of the second half. I’ve seen some horribly bad, one-sided officiated games in my life – this is one of them. 28-0
It’s gotten so bad that Fox switched to the Niner game. In the 3rd quarter!

  24. Irish Kevin says:

Offensive line is just sucking today!! These 3 yard passes just are not going to win a game!!

  25. rob says:

Play fake on 2nd there CHUCK ?

  26. Irish Kevin says:

That announcer is an idiot, calling out should have been a flag?? Just the fuck up!!

  27. snarkk says:

Looks like the Niners like the number 13 for points every week. This offense sucks balls…

  28. rob says:

I sure hope we can keep both kap and gabbert

  29. rtfirefly says:

Niners are lucky they don’t have the Seahawk ref crew (and I do mean Seahawk ref crew). They would have called TWO roughing penalties on that Cutler sack. End to end.

  30. snarkk says:

Hey, we could be Cleveland fans. They’re down against Cincy 37-3…

  31. Irish Kevin says:

If I see a run on the first play, I am turning this shit off!!

  32. snarkk says:

Competitive game between two crap teams. Niner D showed up, abeit against an also ran offense. Offseason, this offense needs to be blown up — but, only after Baalke is sacked along with the coaching staff…

  33. Irish Kevin says:

One more time, the offensive line sucks

  34. Irish Kevin says:

Where are Bodin and T Smith???

  35. Irish Kevin says:

They should go no huddle from the 2 min mark forward!!

  36. unca_chuck says:

Bears are leaving us in this game and we aren’t taking advantage.

Oh well. Reminiscent of the “play well enough to lose” era.

  37. unca_chuck says:

The one drive we went up-tempo they scored.

  38. unca_chuck says:

D needs to make a stand.

  39. Irish Kevin says:

    Nice, very nice!!

  40. Irish Kevin says:

Well that victory didn’t last long!!

  41. unca_chuck says:

New and interesting ways to blow games.

  42. unca_chuck says:

Wow. Gutless D. You cannot give up a 10 yard run there.

  43. Irish Kevin says:

Unbelievable!! This should have been a win, or at least go OT

  44. Irish Kevin says:

Special teams this year, not good! This loss is on them!!

  45. unca_chuck says:

How about a block for the win?

  46. snarkk says:

A race to crappage today between two crap squads, looks like the Niners will win the race…

  47. unca_chuck says:

    Who wants it less????

  48. snarkk says:

Whoops. The Bears weigh in with more crappage!…

  49. Irish Kevin says:

Oh my gosh!!! Neither of these teams want to win this game!!!

  50. snarkk says:

Seriously. The NFL quality of play now is pretty horrible across the board. The 80s Niners would destroy this league now…

  51. unca_chuck says:

Navorrow with the call of the game

  52. snarkk says:

A Niner win here is worse than worthess — it means they give up a little higher pick in the draft…

  53. Irish Kevin says:

    3 and out?? Seriously!!!

  54. rob says:

    Big play d
    Nice effort 51

  55. snarkk says:

Is extra crappage play between two crap teams actually a good thing?…

  56. unca_chuck says:

Wow. Unreal. Game over if lemon ire gets that.

  57. unca_chuck says:

    They finally go deep!

  58. unca_chuck says:

    Blew that coverage

  59. snarkk says:

    Well, there goes Goff…

  60. Irish Kevin says:

Did I just see pass protection?? Whew a road win, and a win for Gabbert on the road at an outdoor stadium!!

  61. unca_chuck says:

Yeah, Tomsula takes one fron the silver fox. So much for Chicago. They arent a playoff team anyway.

  62. unca_chuck says:

Guess you have to say this was a BIG fail for Vic Fangio.

    • snarkk says:

I’d take Fangio as DC over the current Mangwini…

      • rob says:

        Not so sure there

      • unca_chuck says:

Give him some players and he looks good. That’s true of anyone, but really? Losing at home to the worst NFL offense? Sure we’ve had lapses but they are getting better at limiting the damage. Th Beats has great field position all day. The Niners were lined deep the whole game.

  63. Lurker John says:

No NFL team is just going to tank games so they can get a higher draft pick, so you may as well enjoy the wins. 52 yards right on the money. Pretty good.

  64. Nipper says:

Wow! A win on the road. How novel!

  65. Winder says:

It was a good win for the team. There are lots of games where the field goal kicker misses. I remember in “81” the Ram game at the stick their kicker missed I believe 4 times, that was one of the sweetest victories I can remember..
And, Kudos to Stanford. Rosebowl bound.

  66. unca_chuck says:

I wonder if skeebers lost his hard on for Fangio and the Bears yet.

    Didn’t quite last 4 hours.

  67. rtfirefly says:

    22-0

    • unca_chuck says:

Dubs bench helped big time tonight. When they needed it.

Poor Bullit excuses wins while Fangio eats shit. Our would-be head coach looks like he’s missing the playoffs. Boo hoo.

  68. unca_chuck says:

Carolina still undefeated? Falcons, Giants, Falcons, Bucs. You’d have to think Atl gets one of those.

Still and all they have a pretty good shot at a 16-0 season. Playoffs? Don’t know.

  69. unca_chuck says:

ROB, do you really think Kappy would want to come back here? I give that about a 3% chance of happening. He’s riding the bullshit express right now and the FO has done all they can to show him the exit.

Stay here and go back to the bench? There are too many teams in need of a starter. No matter how he’s percieved now.

  70. 12th Man says:

I don’t understand why they are still putting Ellington back there for KO returns. He dropped another one today and did nothing all game, not making the 20 most times. He had one decent return during OT.

Did nothing as a WR either.

  71. unca_chuck says:

Hayne should be called back. Patton and Ellington are very iffy. Can’t believe these backups White/Smelter can’t get on the field.

  72. unca_chuck says:

    New thread is up . . .
