Yes, the biggest blown 9th inning league in the 125 year history of the team. They were 2,208-0 when leading by 6 or more in the 9th. Til today.
Up 9-3 in the top of the 9th, the team could not even get an out before Cincy tied it. Bivans came in and really had no clue. Not sure why whoever the interim manager even was didn’t pull him a little faster, but I think it was pretty obvious Bivens didn’t have it. He gave up the longest home run into the cove that I’ve ever seen. Then again, Smith came in and nuked the joint. And the rest was errors, walks and general rookie ball crap.
I guess the lockout is a blessing.

Yes turned out to be well pitched game by Whis and even Seymour and beyond. Timely hitting good baserunning (Cavanaugh is on the move) solid D. Stros need these too, chasing Rangers for first and others for WC. Alvarez sure is amazing.
Cavanaugh play was night before. He did have 2 hits scored and drove one in as bottom of order (Koss!) did some damage.

Good to see WhizzyHut do better. Those last couple of games, it was no surprise he was getting hit, his pitches just had no movement at all. This game, more movement. The team really needs him to be decent.
Someone here mentioned this: with Chappie and Schmittie both out for the year, why not Devers at 3rd? He was a starting 3rd-bagger for 8 years. Devers at 3rd, give 1st to Eldridge, and a better bat than Koss at DH. Unless Rafi has decided he really likes playing 1st……. Oh, and yeah, Mayer. It’ll be good when he’s healthy, he has talent.

And of course on cue a booming leadoff triple followed by a Sac Fly 2-1 Stros and yes I’m calling another loss cause that’s what they do best!!
So, if Adames back is so bad he can’t make a routine DP throw to the second baseman, why the hell is he even out there? Vitello took him out AFTER that fiasco inning was over, yet apparently there was an earlier lob throw by Adames per Flemm — so they waited to take him out until a second feeble Adames lob led to a tying run.
If his back is hurt, put Adames on the IL and be done with it. Is Vitello afraid of Adames for some reason? For F’s sake, take the reins and manage! Proactive, not reactive. If Adames is out for a while, the team OPS will go up, and the defense will improve, even with the challenged gloves they have for the infield. At least the other available infielders can friggin’ throw the ball.
Bericoto’s drop? You’re going to get that with a rookie. Comes with the territory and unfamiliarity with the ballpark/sun/wind/whatever. Keep playing him the next 40+ games.
If the Giants don’t use their remaining ABS challenge on called strikes here in the bottom of the 9th while trailing, they are insane.
