Yes, the biggest blown 9th inning league in the 125 year history of the team. They were 2,208-0 when leading by 6 or more in the 9th. Til today.
Up 9-3 in the top of the 9th, the team could not even get an out before Cincy tied it. Bivans came in and really had no clue. Not sure why whoever the interim manager even was didn’t pull him a little faster, but I think it was pretty obvious Bivens didn’t have it. He gave up the longest home run into the cove that I’ve ever seen. Then again, Smith came in and nuked the joint. And the rest was errors, walks and general rookie ball crap.
I guess the lockout is a blessing.

You really have to question Posey’s judgment in the Spring that this Pen was a legitimate Pen to go through an MLB season. Was it his judgment, or was it a budget thing from ownership? Worst Pen since the 2016 playoff was over? Since ATT/Oracle came on line in 2000? I think the latter…

It was a guaranteed loss again once V-idiot pulled the infield in the10th with one out ,if their back they could of gotten a DP and out of the inning,then McCray butchered the ball in the LF corner for 2 more..Oh yeah and to have your catcher as the ghost runner plus .080 McCray&Koss .160 it’s automatically a loss..
I looked at the replay of that game-tying grounder in the top of the 9th. Why is Basabe playing way over towards 2nd base, when the pitcher is throwing a fastball to the catcher’s target on the outside part of the plate? So, the RH hitter just pokes that outside fastball to the oppo side and Basabe is so far to the center of the diamond he can’t even get the grounder with a dive. Run scores. This S happens when you are a crap team and you have essentially no margin for error in a close game.
Seriously, you’re praying to every deity in the universe for the Giants to completely FACE PLANT if you’re in the “camp” that believes significant changes during the hot stove season will ONLY occur if, and only if the remainder of this season is a steaming pile of shit.

Frankly, after the last decade of mostly ineptitude, I am sufficiently convinced that even this scenario I mentioned in my 1st paragraph, wouldn’t be sufficient to light a fire under Johnson Jr., where he gave Buster the “green light” to turn this team around 180 degrees. The ‘Stros hit so well that this has the look of a possible sweep by Houston. Giants are basically toothless on offense and defense. They need to bring other players up. Chapman abdominal surgery today. Pfffttt! Chapman finished the year batting .235 with 72 hits, seven home runs, 42 RBI and 35 runs in 84 games.

The kid I want to see back is Bericoto. I want to see if he’s vapor or has a chance to be the real deal. Looks like he’s has the tools, just need to put them together with experience at the highest level. He’s in Sac rehabbing, but he needs to come up ASAP and McCray needs to go. IMO they don’t trade Ramos if they didn’t get a good whiff of Bericoto before he got hurt.

I’d like to see Bericoto and Cox come up to play OF. Let’s be real about Bericoto though: the sample size of 55 ABs is very small, and he had 1 BB/15 Ks. Ramos had better BB rate 5% this seaon, even though that was down from last year. He does appear to be a better OF but early peripherals (K rate ground ball rate) aren’t anything special. these guys seem cut from same cloth to me.
The point is to take a look at him. McCray is a known non-contact guy.
Agreed, I hope he gets lot of run rest of season and McCray time should be over.
Have we seen enough of him yet ? I think I have, but maybe that’s unfair. I mean, if he can’t hit, but is a decent defender AND is pretty much impervious to injury that might be an acceptable combination for a bench rider.
Bericoto is back in lineup today in LF.
None of the young OFs should be starters next year. Nor should Bader be around. But how many holes can Buster fill in the off season. This year? Parsing the choices is a parlor game. McCray sometimes looks almost as clumsy in the corner as Leonard. There’s not a lot of distinction, ultimately.
This is my biggest fear. A minor leagues worth of Bowkers and Brebbias and Kosses. Oh my.
Posey should get the benefit of the doubt with his drafts, but it’ll be a tough row to hoe for the next couple years.
We have so many holes to fill and even our supposed starters, Deverticulitis (really cracked me up, Loo) / Eldridge are 1st / DH. Chappie is already out for some of next year likely, Bader does not deserve even an inkling of a chance to play for this team, Lee is fine, Schmitt is fine at 3rd, and Adumbass isn’t going anywhere. That leaves 2nd, CF, and LF.
Rotation will be Webbie, Roupp-deee-doo, and who? Houser? Stuck with him. He’s actually pitched a couple nice games tho. Tidwell? Whizzinhurts? AAA is full of 26 year old scrubeenies.
Pen and closer? Smith is marginal at best. The rest are hot garbage. All of them. Redo the lot?
This Pen stinks to high heaven. Ditch them all is a good goal. A Pen can be re-built in an offseason, if a team is willing to spend what it takes to buy one. Starters, not so fast.

V got some questions about removing Tidwell when he did. Questions about why not give him a longer leash, we need to be seeing what these youngsters can do. V’s answer was something like “We’re trying to win games here”… I guess he knows that winning some games between now and end of season might be the only way to save his job. Not going to win many games with 2 or 3 “hitters” who can’t hit and an entire bullpen who can’t pitch.
