! ! ! ! Can’t get any lower. Still I feel I’m sinking ! ! ! !

Outshined by Chris Cornell and Soundgarden. The theme song for your SF Giants 2026 team.

In a season full of pitching debacles and crushing losses, they managed to pull one out for the ages.

Yes, the biggest blown 9th inning league in the 125 year history of the team. They were 2,208-0 when leading by 6 or more in the 9th. Til today.

Up 9-3 in the top of the 9th, the team could not even get an out before Cincy tied it. Bivans came in and really had no clue. Not sure why whoever the interim manager even was didn’t pull him a little faster, but I think it was pretty obvious Bivens didn’t have it. He gave up the longest home run into the cove that I’ve ever seen. Then again, Smith came in and nuked the joint. And the rest was errors, walks and general rookie ball crap.

I guess the lockout is a blessing.

For Dolly . . .

    Sweeper completely fooled Devers.

time to pull this guy probably should have pulled him after he hit the fist batter

It all started with a HPB at 0-2.

    Serves him right.

We can all rip this Pen, and it’s deserved.

But, score just 3 through 8 frames, and you’ve a good chance in MLB of losing the game…

    another one bites the dusrt

Oh well. Bullpen blows another one.

    Happy Juneteenth, all.

    So much for that momentum.

For Roupp, “the Lord giveth and the Lord taketh away”. Job 1:21.

So far this season, he’s doing a lot of “taketh” …

Rarely see McCovey Chronicles taking a stand, as they usually echo the company line, whether it involves ownership or on the field Giants performance. This is the second opinion piece criticising the team regarding the Pride Night. However, not only do they want Vitello’s head to roll, but emphasize it should not stop there . . . Or, as the columnist said:

“So yes, Vitello should absolutely be the first firing from this shameful ordeal. But he should not be the last, and if they do fire him we should not accept his scapegoating as enough.

Because the rot starts well above him.

As I said on Thursday, it’s time to clean house and Vitello would only be the first move in that. But it would be a meaningful one.”

Vitello definitely screwed up. A firing offense? I don’t know. He’s done worse. The blowback on Rainbowgate has been a lovely thing to see, imo. I’d just as soon enjoy it as it stands and move on. Let’s focus on V’s baseball butchery.

hoser to the pen. He’ll do less damage there, possibly. Malodorous is on his way back, allegedly auditioning for a trade.

I just heard on KNBR that left handed hitters sport a collective 1.000+ OPS against Houser. That is mind blowingly atrocious even for this team. And KNBR reporting he’s been shuttled into the Pen as of this morning, and is not happy about it. If this stiff is not happy, then come out of the Pen, get righties out, and get your ass traded. Buster needs to just turn this outfit upside down and shake out the trash.

Trade Mahle for a bag o’ balls or just dump him, commit to Whis and McDonald on the rotation for the season to see if they are future rotation pieces. Let’s use the rest of this season to get prepared for the future…

Only the Giants can hit a double with a runner at second and not score.

  16. snarkk's avatar snarkk says:

Nice of the Giants to give Miami a free run; error + 3 walks.

Nice of Adames to K on 3 pitches with Lee on 2nd and no outs. I’m going to start calling his wasted ABs an “Adamesout”.

Finally after 3 ABs, including a Schmitt double, Lee comes into score on Gilbert’s knock.

With one out and Schmitt standing at 3rd waiting to score on something, why is Gilbert getting thrown out at 2nd on a steal ?

This team is so, so, so friggin’ lame …

  17. James's avatar James says:

    LOL!!!

  18. snarkk's avatar snarkk says:

    Now, frame 2.

    Catcher’s interference by Haase.

Now, McDonald hits a batter. No command.

Now, McDonald misses stepping on the 1st base bag on the throw from Devers. Error #3 for the Giants.

So far, 7 free bases handed to the Marlins in less than 2 innings. Miami has 2 runs with 1 hit. Amazing it’s only 2 runs.

Gyros are so bad, it’s just laughable…

  19. snarkk's avatar snarkk says:

    There’s a “Chapout”.

Chapman with a useless pop up with runners 1st and 2nd, nobody out.

At least Devers moved the runners over with his grounder to first. Lee hits lazy fly out. Done.

So, Giants had runners at 1st and 2nd, nobody out with heart of the order coming up, and Phhhhhhttttttttt.

Now, McDonald hits another batter. So far, bottom of 3rd and nobody out, Giants have given away 8 free bases.

Maybe they win this game, maybe not. Whatever.

But, the first 3+ innings are a perfect example of why this team stinks this season. Bad pitching, bad defense, bad execution on offense…

  20. snarkk's avatar snarkk says:

Another hit batter by McDonald. 3 so far, 4th inning still going.

Now, that runner tries a steal, Haase throws the ball away. Error #4.

I think that is now 10 bases and 9 baserunners given away in under 4 innings.

Now, a single brings in the run.

Followed by another single. Apparently Vitello has now seen enough of McDonald. He’s supposed to be better than Houser and a future rotation piece. Ouch, looks like he’s a project. Gage comes in. Uh oh.

It’s early, plenty of time for lots more Jiants Jackassery…
