. . . for football anyway. Hoping we still try to get O line help, but this team looks to be in better shape than last year given the talent that left the building and the money that went with them. They have shed a lot of contracts desite last year being a rebuild year. Turns out the parity that is so prevalent and the young guys we drafted recently turned out pretty well, and we were amazingly TWO wins from the big prize. And I don’;’t doubt for a second that had we somehow beat Seaettle, NE would have been a walk.
Every year is different, and this year we seem to have done well getting some depth along the D line, linebacker, CB, and WR. But we are still thin at safety, the O line, and just the usual curiosity around the RB position. For some reason, the Mac Jones trade never materialized. My guess is we wanted too much. And why not? No reason to be desperate to get rid of him. You never know if our QB gets hurt again (fixthefuckingolinepleaseforthemillionthgoddamntime), and beyond that, if someother big name goes down (Stafford/Goff) Jones could pop back up for a desperate team.

Other than that, hmmmmmm. not much in the soccer world, but 4 games in LA vs the Dodgers. They have been on a bit of a slide and we are what we are. Consistently maddeningly inconsistent. We won a series! Against a pretty solid Pirates team! And hey we brought back Mickey D from Sacto. He’s going tonight.
Yep, I said earlier they’d need 2 or 3 HRs to compete, and they’ve accomplished the top end of that, no surprise they’re all solos. Time to add on…
A Flavor-like call for the Snarkkman!
A safety squeeze ! Luv that ! …
Hooligans!
Wow, no respect for Schmitt there. He needs to remember that…
A 2-run double, luv that too!
Gilbert&Lee produce after All World Eric Avocado 🥑 Hasse nearly blast his 3 rd straight Homer.. 6-2 baby keep pouring it on Giants!
Giants been playing all season like Rip Van Winkle . . . Make a pact with the Devil and/or drink some sort of elixir and proceed to beat the crap out of the Bums. Go figure.
Entire body language is different. Who are these guys? Will they show up for the rest of the season? Stay tuned . . .
Damm Hentges is taller than Eldridge at 6’8 and throws nasty stuff, and why do we need Borsucki anymore when ever Miller comes back?
Nice work by Killian to get that last out even if it sounded initially as a Grandslam tying shot wheew…
No idea how Arraez got the no defense tag. He is nails. Nice win by the Gmen. Get #3 tomorrow.
Victory! Clinches no worse than a split this series, though let’s get greedy.
Yeah another beat down to the Dogpile 4out 5 against them this year like Blade mentioned go figure!
And they should show that last out smash that Arreaz corralled by Othani again just another GG play..
Not many of them, but this is definitely a nominee for best game of the season so far. Clutch offense, power flexed with 3 HRs, solid pitching against a tough opponent, and above average defense. Why can’t they do this more often?
BTW, this team looks and plays better with Chapman on the bench. They could trade him tomorrow and easily be better for it…
Charle Young has passed at the age of 75. A Niners legend (IMO) and a big part of the team’s turnaround in 1980 and, of course,1981, a season in which he was a big part of the 49ers championship run. RIP, Charle.
Sad to hear about Young he was tough as nails.
Just when you think the Giants will let you go they pull you back in. Unbelievable.
Craig Morton just passed as well, at the age of 83. Fine QB. RIP.
Morton was a great QB for Cal 1962-64.
RIP and Go Bears !
Giant football fans here were thrilled when they got him from Dallas. They went 8-25 with him before shipping him out to Denver…
Houser outduels Yamamoto for the W. As Slush pointed out, his last 3 starts have been OK–6 runs given up over 16 innings, and 10 hits 6 BBs for 1.0 WHIP. Peripherals might not look great but with some stellar D behind him he got first W of season.
Roupp and Ray for next 2. Go get ’em.
3 Cs would be interesting but Haase is the vet with best pedigree.
Roberts says he is sitting Ohtani for today’s game as SP and for Thursday. yikes
Giants got them talking to each other.
fwiw every other team in NL West lost yesterday. Onward and upward!
Morton’s Super Bow run was the only time I’ve ever rooted for the Broncos.
New thread is up.
