I don’t fucking know anymore. At this point I’d tell Purdy, “here’s your franchise tag”. Take it or hold out for the season. I think he deserves a deal, but if he’s wants to play hard ball, tag him.

If the Niners upgrade at LG and that has the impact on Brendel that adding Puni did on McKivitz, then I’ll happily admit I was wrong. Until then, I think the reliance on stats to distract from the old fashioned eye test will continue to be silly.
I’ve never seen an offensive lineman who spends more time literally turned around and facing the QB behind him because he’s been so soundly beaten or couldn’t manage to find anyone to block. If you’re not going to spend money on a center in free agency (“Dalman is too expensive”) and you aren’t going to hand the reins to a rookie, then you’ll get scrubs and cast offs like Brendel.

I think both both Brendel and McKivitz lucked out. Need replacements for Banks and Jaylen Moore from the draft. Saleh incoming may lead to DT and DE being first two with left side OL the two in the 3rd.
First 4 have to be in the trenches. Jed York needs to demand it.
