Rama-Lama-Ding-Dong – Game 14

This trainwreck of a season staggers merrily along this holiday season as the 49ers face the newly resurgent LA Rams. They of the 1-4 record, and had we beat them back in September, they’d have been 0-5 and likely would have traded Cooper Kupp and gone through a rebuild.

But alas, we impregnated the canine, and let them off the hook to now be one game ahead of us. Well, the dog had puppies and we are now the ones staring at a post-season on the outside.

Funny how that works. The Rams don’t defend very well, so we have to score early and often. No dicking around with field goals. We also need to desperately get pressure early and often on Stafford. The defense needs to sell out and shake him up and get him skittish and gunshy.

Otherwise they’ll drop a 40-spot on us. Our glaring failure on defense has been our lack of sustained pressure on opposing quarterbacks. Stafford is no Mahomes, so simply collapsing the pocket around him is the way to go. No stepping up and getting passes off. We should pressure hard early.

The main byproduct of no pass rush is no errant passes. No fumbles. No forced errors. This defense NEEDS to create turnovers. We’ve had one pick and one fumble recovery in the past FIVE games while we have turned the ball over NINE times. That is absolutely pathetic. The main reason why we are so far down in the standings.

Looks like it’s gonna be a wet rainy night so ball security is paramount yet again. That isn’t Purdy’s strong suit, but it ain’t a snowstorm.

This one thoroughly blew me away.

    I had no idea.

  2. Irish Kevin's avatar Irish Kevin says:

Tim Allen says the Niners need to come out passing the ball, the run is not going to get them a win, I agree. At this point being unable to score in the red zone pass the ball.

  3. Irish Kevin's avatar Irish Kevin says:

I don’t care if it was the Bears, I hope Kyle comes out strong and not back to his old ways of conservativeness. If he does the Niners will lose

  4. NJ49ER's avatar NJ49ER says:

    Otis my Man…

Can we dance with yo dates?

  5. unca_chuck's avatar unca_chuck says:

lol. That scene is classic. Yeah, the Canned Heat version is the only one I knew about.

They can run on LA. They have s shit defense. They just have to mix things up and not get predictable.

  6. alleykat69's avatar alleykat69 says:

Welcome back Dre Greenlaw &Nick BOSA along with Issac Guerendo who was questionable but good to go! Even if pitch count might be limited it’s great for morale to fire with more weapons with these Studs back in a “Must Win towards running the table run!” Niners 27-13 Fuck the Lambs!!

  7. Nick Brosa's avatar Nick Brosa says:

What an absolutely cheesy title to this post.

Meanwhile, the march to a 49ers Super Bowl victory begins tonight by squashing the Rams!

  8. alleykat69's avatar alleykat69 says:

3rd and 6 and they run the ball with Samuel? WTF conservative call was that?I know they want to get him involved but that wasn’t the time! Got the FG by Moody atleast..

  9. Irish Kevin's avatar Irish Kevin says:

Well so much for being able to run the ball, pass gets them across the fifty and let’s go to the run.

  10. Winder's avatar Winder says:

I think they should just use Deebo as a decoy for awhile.

  11. willedav's avatar willedav says:

DB hands. Had chance for 2 picks already, thrown right to D by Stafford. Don’t let him get going.

  12. Irish Kevin's avatar Irish Kevin says:

Where are the passes to Jennings

  13. Irish Kevin's avatar Irish Kevin says:

Well at least the D came to play

  14. Irish Kevin's avatar Irish Kevin says:

But how long can the D stop Stafford

    • unca_chuck's avatar unca_chuck says:

yep. You know they will get going. I just wish we’d have 17 points before they get rolling.

forcing the ball to Deebo is lame. Go to Kittle till they stop it

  15. Winder's avatar Winder says:

Purdy doesn’t play well in the rain. Those passes dropped by our defense are gonna come back to bite us.

  16. Irish Kevin's avatar Irish Kevin says:

How slippery is the ball? Jennings does not drop passes like that

  17. Irish Kevin's avatar Irish Kevin says:

Kittle and Jennings the only two he should passing to

  18. unca_chuck's avatar unca_chuck says:

we are tipping the run plays

  19. Winder's avatar Winder says:

We don’t have a run game right now.

  20. Irish Kevin's avatar Irish Kevin says:

    Rain should be stopping soon

  21. Irish Kevin's avatar Irish Kevin says:

No guts no glory, go for it on 4th

  22. Irish Kevin's avatar Irish Kevin says:

End of the half all Kyle said was couldn’t get the run going. More worried about the run than calling plays to win. 😡😡😡😡

  23. unca_chuck's avatar unca_chuck says:

fucking deebo is really getting on my nerves. Fuck him

  24. alleykat69's avatar alleykat69 says:

Time for Moody and Peppers to get in Samuel’s face and tell him “Get your shit together!” We’re doing are job not you!

  25. Irish Kevin's avatar Irish Kevin says:

    Not enough pressure on Stafford

  26. Irish Kevin's avatar Irish Kevin says:

Like I said how long can the D hold the Rams down. And that stat 13 times a team has gotten to the red zone they have scored. Not good

  27. unca_chuck's avatar unca_chuck says:

yeah, everyone seems to take turns fucking up.

that was a td for Deebo or at least 1st and goal.

  28. unca_chuck's avatar unca_chuck says:

    greenlaws out too

  29. unca_chuck's avatar unca_chuck says:

really surprised they kicked that FG.

  30. alleykat69's avatar alleykat69 says:

So I guess we’re going to Dick around with Field Goals tonight after all huh Chuck?

2 field goals each team welcome to TNF always a shitshow game!

  31. Irish Kevin's avatar Irish Kevin says:

Well that is the way the D should play, and about time a ref called a hold on Bosa

  32. 12th Man's avatar 12th Man says:

As I said before, Deebo is not the same guy. Jennings is having an off game so far for him, Pearsall keeps screwing up his routes, the only reliable guy so far today is Kittle.

    • Irish Kevin's avatar Irish Kevin says:

But Jennings has not been thrown to in the second half, Deebo got in Kyles head for not enough touches

  33. unca_chuck's avatar unca_chuck says:

2 illegal formations on punts yeah let’s keep the st coach

  34. 12th Man's avatar 12th Man says:

    ST continues to stink.

D has played well so far.

  35. unca_chuck's avatar unca_chuck says:

duck throwing g to Deebo. Feed Kittle

  36. 12th Man's avatar 12th Man says:

That was on Hufanga not Ward

  37. Irish Kevin's avatar Irish Kevin says:

    Good game, maybe next year

  38. Irish Kevin's avatar Irish Kevin says:

Yeah the run is getting them TD’s let’s keep running the ball

  39. alleykat69's avatar alleykat69 says:

Puka 7 catches for 97 yards Deebo 3 catches for 16 yards enough said..

  40. Locojuan's avatar Locojuan says:

    Fuck.

  41. Irish Kevin's avatar Irish Kevin says:

They should still be able to stop the run even without Greenlaw

  42. unca_chuck's avatar unca_chuck says:

Yeah, Greenlaw proved that he really was the missing piece. In this defense Bosa doesn’t mean much

Purdy has to wear this one fior ubnderthrowing Pearsall, then overthrowing Jennings.

  43. unca_chuck's avatar unca_chuck says:

    Hufanga fucks up.

  44. unca_chuck's avatar unca_chuck says:

This is just sad that Purdy isn’t really progressing this year. He’s made a lot of dumb throws. There have beenb a ton of drops and stupid shit, but 15-9 picks isn;t $60 mill.

  45. unca_chuck's avatar unca_chuck says:

The 49er collectively are Steve DeBerg. Playing well enough just to lose.

  46. unca_chuck's avatar unca_chuck says:

If I’m Shanahan I bench Deebo next week.

  47. unca_chuck's avatar unca_chuck says:

Moody should fucking scream at him.

Purdy misses a wide open Pearsall. WTF?

  48. unca_chuck's avatar unca_chuck says:

So fucking tired of this team finding fun ways to lose games.

One drop fucked the entire game. Thanks Deebo. You wanted the ball and you choked horribly.

  49. Locojuan's avatar Locojuan says:

    Ugly game/season.

A couple of months until ST.

  50. unca_chuck's avatar unca_chuck says:

If we had beat LA in September they would have dismantled that team.

The Rams suck. Michaels is on glue. They will get wiped out in the playoffs.

  51. Irish Kevin's avatar Irish Kevin says:

Kyle certainly was not as creative as he was with the Bears. Went back to being conservative

  52. alleykat69's avatar alleykat69 says:

And that’s a wrap for a dismal season!

Heads need to roll like Marie Antoinette!

  53. unca_chuck's avatar unca_chuck says:

Unless they really rebuild this O line asap, paying Purdy will be a fool’s errand.

And Purdy has to understand what the fuck he’s doing out there. He has missed a ton of plays all season and that late pick was inexcusable as we were at least in range to tie the game.

Trade Deebo. Dump Hargrave. Get interior D and O line help. Run D has been atrocious, Fucking get rid of McKivitz.

All these things have been problems, esp the O line for 3 years. EVERY Super Bowl loss came down to teams blitzing us and getting pressure, and giving up late points.

We just rush 4 and pray. SAME FUCKING SHIT OVER AND OVER.

Unreal that the national wonks watch this shit and jizz all over Bosa, call this defense dominant while they rank 26th in stopping 3rd downs. Greenlaw plays 2/3 of a game and he singlehandedly keeps the Niners in the game.

  54. Irish Kevin's avatar Irish Kevin says:

Donte Wittner called out Kyle for not seeing that Deebo was not into the game, and should have gone with a different #1 receiver

  55. NJ49ER's avatar NJ49ER says:

Purdy doing a great job of keeping his price down in a contract run.

Shanny needs to be removed from anything related to Draft input in April. The Offensive additions thus far in the WR room are abysmal and short of Lenoir the secondary doesn’t have much to shout about either.

Maybe we’ll trip over someone like Jauan again late when they’re busy throwing away Picks to move up 3 slots.

Tired of hearing about injuries when the depth on the bench has nothing to offer. Total dysfunction.

    • NJ49ER's avatar NJ49ER says:

Watching paint dry might be a better alternative than watching Shanny finding new ways to avoid the end zone.

  56. Irish Kevin's avatar Irish Kevin says:

How come when the Niners blitz they get nothing the other 28 teams sack our QB

    • unca_chuck's avatar unca_chuck says:

because we are so obvious with our blitz packages. When we line up more than 4, it’s a tell. Minn does it 75% of the time so when they call out of it, it is t as obvious when they do or don’t.

like our run game tonight. We would pull Pearsall and Jennings and pack everyone in tight. Hmmm. What’s coming?

  57. unca_chuck's avatar unca_chuck says:

I guess Campbell will be cut tomorrow

he begged out of playing when greenlaw came out

  58. NJ49ER's avatar NJ49ER says:

Who was the bearded guy on the sideline that was announced by Michaels as being Trent?

    Hargrave maybe?

They did manage to find him in a later shot sitting in suite along with CMc.

  59. alleykat69's avatar alleykat69 says:

You know Fuck Devondre Campbell what a gutless piece of shit walking out on your team in 3rd quarter after Greenlaw gave it his all in a remarkable 1st half and just ran out of steam very understandable after such a long layoff,
and this PÓS whining about not starting and telling Shanahan I’m not going in still in a close game! You lost all respect with your teammates , coaches, management with your immaturity and definitely will be released tomorrow! You are done playing in the NFL ever again you Fucking Loser!!!

  60. unca_chuck's avatar unca_chuck says:

It wasn’t a big lead but yet another 4th quarter el foldo by the master.

Fucking Shanny stroking Deebo’s ego and forcing him the ball was an indictment of why this team isn’t going anywhere. Kittle was getting open and should have gotten a lot more thrown his way. And why did Deebo get like 10 snaps in a row at RB? Nothing there.

The telegraphing of runs, Deebo’s fail, one stupid penalty. Just enough to lose.

  61. NJ49ER's avatar NJ49ER says:

Here’s a fun reminder of the Shanny/Lynch top 20 Draft Picks

Can’t wait to see what might be coming up next April 🤢

During coach Kyle Shanahan and general manager John Lynch’s tenures with the 49ers, San Francisco has made a top-20 selection five times.

Here is who the 49ers have taken with those picks.

Defensive tackle Solomon Thomas (No. 3 overall, 2017)

Offensive tackle Mike McGlinchey (No. 9 overall, 2018)

Defensive end Nick Bosa (No. 2 overall, 2019)

Defensive tackle Javon Kinlaw (No. 14 overall, 2020)

Quarterback Trey Lance (No. 3 overall, 2021)

    • unca_chuck's avatar unca_chuck says:

Yup. Got all the drafts for the past 15 seasons and you can see that most of the talent we have came from round 4 and down.

Wasting picks on the first day of the draft has been an issue since Reuben Foster and Solly Thomas.

  62. Winder's avatar Winder says:

That was just a horrible game, none of that was 49er football. The team has lost whatever spark they had. At least we don’t have to worry about mailing it in we are already there.

  63. unca_chuck's avatar unca_chuck says:

This team is playing flat and disinterested. Campbell quitting is just the latest example. The players may have Shanahan’s back, but at some point they have to see the writing on the wall.

Poor execution and the myriad mistakes pile up in these losses.

    New thread is up.
