Seattle Slaughter – Week 11.5 – Happy Thanksgiving

Here we go with another short week and a roadie. In Seattle no less. Seattle is coming off a desultory loss to the semi-woeful Lambs, 17-16 on a missed FG as time ran out. Sounds familiar. Amazingly, the Rams have beaten Seattle twice out of their 6 wins. Thanks. They lost to the woefuller Packers. The Ravens crushed them, and Cincy squeaked by them. They’ve beaten even more woeful teams like Carolina, AZ, and the New York-we-forgot-how-to-play-football Giants.

But, they did beat the Deetroit Lions. AND the Cleveland Browns. So, this team is hard to figure. Pistol Pete has them playing over their heads, and they are extremely young, so they are learning on the fly. Geno Smith is playing kinda middling football. He is 13th in yards, 17-18 in whichever rating system you prefer, 12 TDs, 7 picks. They are18th in offensive yardage, 16th in points, 25th in rushing, and 13th in passing. Their run game is fairly quiet with Kenny Walker leading the way with 613 yards,

Defense is much the same middling stuff. 23rd in yards given up, 21st in passing, 19th in rushing defense, and 19th in points. Their claim to fame is they are 10th in turnovers at +3.

But they are the Seahawks. Always a fight, Always a challenge. Metcalfe and Lockett are never easy to deal with. BUT, Russell is gone, and Geno is a unreasonable facsimile., and the Seahawks are banged up pretty badly. Geno is questionable but he’ll likely play. Still, I think we can outlast these guys. But the usual stuff has to be watched. Stupid pre-snap penalties, holding calls, PIs. Win in the trenches, win the turnover battle.

But they NEED to tighten up their 4th quarter game. They cannot fade like they did against TB. That would be a disaster in Seattle.

Walker out. Geno gimpy and shot up with drugs. Get to him early with a nice Buckeye Crunch or two and bring on Lock. I think we hammer them tomorrow 27-10

    All about the pressure.

From here on out it’s all about protecting Purdy imo. Defensive injuries like Huff’s last week will hurt also. Seattle has some pretty good and young defensive players that can cause some havoc. But at this point I think we are the far better team and barring stupid mistakes we take this one handily.

O line not healthy going in. Hopefully Purdy has enough time to continue hitting 20 yard passes down field and running game can keep SeaChickens D on the field. Enjoy Holiday everyone!

Feliciano played well for Banks. Not sure about Burford tho.

GB does the stupid move going for it on 4th down off Deetroit’s 2nd turnovers in the 1st quarter. Coulda taken 23-6 lead and instead gave Deetroit momentum.

    Happy thanksgiving, all!!

Happy Thanksgiving everyone. This year it’s just me and the cats. I will enjoy the solitude.

    Love that Furs song . . .

  10. unca_chuck's avatar unca_chuck says:

Nope. Commies fold like a cheap tent.

  11. unca_chuck's avatar unca_chuck says:

    Wow. Easy pickings.

  12. unca_chuck's avatar unca_chuck says:

Special teams is really awful. D did their job.

  13. unca_chuck's avatar unca_chuck says:

Nice of them to call the penalty 30 seconds after the play was over.

  14. unca_chuck's avatar unca_chuck says:

    Hello? There you go.

  15. unca_chuck's avatar unca_chuck says:

Don’t go soft here. Stuff these guys again.

Hope y’all are having a nice Thanksgiving.

Case in point of Shanahan being a big fat pussy. Go for the fucking TD after the fumbled punt, Instead he goes wimpy and kicks the FG.

  17. unca_chuck's avatar unca_chuck says:

And of course we give up 50 yards in 43 seconds. Utter stupidity.

    Miss!

  18. unca_chuck's avatar unca_chuck says:

Wow. Stupid shit there. 2 terrible passes by Purdy.

  19. unca_chuck's avatar unca_chuck says:

Wow. We are just letting them back into the game.

  20. unca_chuck's avatar unca_chuck says:

I’d be surprised if we win this game. Shanahan and Wilks are playing scared already.

Keep them out of the end zone and we need a fucking drive.

  21. Lurker John's avatar Lurker John says:

Fucking 49ers. No matter what, every single time they come up here it’s just a shit show. Collinsworth is positively gushing over Carroll right now. You blow a 24-3 lead in a big divisional game you deserve everything bad that happens to you. No one can make a play right now.

  22. Lurker John's avatar Lurker John says:

Seattle is on fire right now. I don’t know how Shanahan does it, but Carroll just owns his ass.

  23. Lurker John's avatar Lurker John says:

As good as Purdy has been, those two throws on their first drive after the half are among his worst of the year. Either one could’ve been picked.

  24. unca_chuck's avatar unca_chuck says:

Yeah. When this team goes south, they go WAY south. They’ve given up on the run and they can’t get anything going downfield.

  25. Lurker John's avatar Lurker John says:

Need a damn touchdown. God I hate the Seahawks. The Dodgers of the NFL.
