Last Game – Long Strange Trip Indeed . . .

This season flew by, but wow, what a weird-ass season. We weren’t supposed to have Jimmy G, let alone be counting on the last pick in the draft to lead the way. But here we are are at 12-4 and still with a shot at the #1 seed. When this team was 3-4 and had been waylaid by Kansas City, I certainly thought the team could reach the playoffs, but I sure didn’t see us running the table.

The thing about this season is, no one short of Buffalo, KC, and Cincy, inconsistency is the name of the game. Especially in the NFC. We have as good a shot as anyone of getting to the Super Bowl. None of the NFC teams scare me. Philly, Dallas, and esp. Minnesota look very beatable. We just need to do the usual. Take care of the ball. Avoid stupid penalties, and get pressure on the QB.

As far as today’s game goes, I don’t think AZ is really feeling anything but the offseason. That team has a lot of talent, but they had a lot of injuries, and a lot of giving up. Watching them on Hard Knocks was pretty cool but it really showed that the team was not playing with any urgency or heart.

So the hope is we can get on top early and get the starters out ASAP.

Tell ya one thing, it would be funny to see the Bears beat the Vikings. Let alone the NYFGs beating the Iggles.

The other record the Niners have is the teams that have lost to them, those teams are like 0-10 in their next game.

    The Niners are hosting Seattle

Looks like it’s Seattle. Might as well start with a team that we know and hate just as much as they know us and hate us. This game is not gonna be a pushover by any means.

With Purdy as the Starting QB, the Niners have scored 30+ points in 4 out of the 10, if you count the Miami game it is 5 out of 10. This is the scoring machine the Niners were supposed be at the beginning of the season

Props to J Goff and Lions for walking into Lambeau and taking out Rogers and Pack.
Goff played at Cal and grew up locally, played HS ball for Marin Catholic in Kentfield. Was part of those Sonny Dykes teams that won (or lost) games 48-46, Feeling pretty good right now though. Have Lions ever been in title game since 1957 (or 58) vs. Niners? I bet Loo would know answer to this.
    Paul is here, awesome!

It was actually 1991 when the last time Detroit won a playoff game as Barry Sanders ran all over the Dallas Cowboys in Dallas.Sanders is still one of my alltime favorite runners he had more moves than Elvis Presley! Just so sad he was cursed playing for Detroit, even though they did make the playoffs like 6-7 years by far their best organizational run,Barry still with treads on the tire decided to hang ‘em up early, whether then continuing dealing with heartbreaking playoff losses. Highly recommend the documentary on ESPN Barry Sanders A Football Life” if u run across it it’s fantastic breaking down his roots from early on… PS..Nice to see u find Chuck’s blog Paul,Good Morning Vietnam 🇻🇳 🇺🇸are afternoon are evening

Yeah, playing for Detroit was the biggest reason why Sanders retired when he did.

Loved his game. And yeah, that Football Life on him is excellent.

And, Paulie, it isn’t ALL football!
