Man, got to tell y’all yesterday was quite the day. I’ll let the photos tell the tale of the pre-game festivities, but what a thrill it was to get onto the sidelines before the game. The pre-game spread in the VIP lounge was pretty awesome as well. Turkey, salmon, prawn cocktail, beer and wine, all on the house.
The largess was due to James Cregg, Assistant Offensive Line Coach for the 49ers. His father Jim is friends with Diana (seen pictured below) who has known my wife since 6th grade.
Went to the 49ers museum, and I got to say it is pretty fucking cool. The statues alone are great, but there’s a ton of old memorabilia and all kinds of cool things.
Here are some pics.

Very nice, great time, good win.
Awesome! I was watching the game yesterday, thinking the O-line coaching staff should get some kind of special recognition. The improvement up front since the beginning of the year has to be our biggest reason for playing better. I hope we can improve the right tackle position this off season. Did your friend make any mention of the O-line play from this year?
Didn’t really have a lot of time to talk, and he mainly talked to his dad.
McGlinchey still appears to be struggling with the passs blocking, but Jimmy still gets real skittish after the 1st read. He DID hit a couple crucial passes, which I’ll give him.
The throw on the run to McCloud down the sideline looked scary as fuck from where we were sitting, but he laid it in there perfectly. And the 3rd and long to Kittle saved the game.
Still and all, he missed a couple wide open looks. Aiyuk made a lot of tough catches, and he should have gotten a shot to the head call on the fumble. Esp after they ejected Greenlaw for his unintentional hit on Herbert.
A The refs also missed two facemask calls on Aiyuk and Deebo early, and McCaffrey got drilled in the head later that they missed.
The fans were livid most of the game with the shit calls.
But, holy fuck, the play calling in the red zone was atrocious. I guess Kyle is scared shitless that Jimmy is gonna do what he did in the KC game and throw a panicky pick in the end zone, so all we get is up the middle inside the 5 about 12 times.
IIC the only sack they gave up was when McGlinchey whiffed on Mack on the designed rollout.
Looks like a great time. I don’t know any of them any longer the 49er family is and always was the reason fans love them so much. Even though they play in SC now they still have the heart of SF.
Great photos, those trophies are bow worthy.
Impressive, thanks for sharing!
Yeah, I hope to get that opportunity again. It was a lot of fun being on the field.
Jerry has SO much fun talking to the fans and hanging out.
Great photos Chuck! Loved the one of Jerry’s 208 TD’s hanging from the ceiling! Nothing like VIP treatment for the game..
49ers sure came out flat on Chargers opening drive capped by a wide open Carter on a blown assignment that had me cursing 🤬 but they tightened up on D after that. The offense still baffles me with Shanahan’s usual conservative approach, nothing like Reid can dial up in KC but he has Mahomes and the 49ers just don’t trust Jimmy G even though they have more weapons!
Is Kittle ever going to see much action besides blocking? Frustrating he can’t be used like Kelce more…
I can see why we gave up so much for Lance but I don’t see why he kept running him up the middle. Hopefully this injury doesn’t mess up his psych.
That’s my concern. He’s mostly lined up on McGlinchey’s side so obviously that’s where they need the help.
To their credit, the pass pro is better than it was earlier. The only big fuckup was not blocking Mack on the play action rollout. Jimmy still freezes in the pocket but the pass to McCloud was clutch. As was the crosser to Kittle.
His one catch. This team really needs to focus on the O line this offseason.
The Washington Generals are taking it to the Iggles.
24 minutes to 6 for the Iggles. Still and all, it’s 20-14 Washington.
New thread is up.
