The New Schedule is Here!

The NFL did some kind of hype show around the release of the schedule yesterday that was even a little too obscure for me to get jazzed about, but here you have it. Our 2020 schedule. Whether it comes to pass remains to be seen, but hey, it is proceeding as if it will happen. Curios is the 2-game stretch in week 2 and 3 where we play 2 different teams in the same road stadium. The Gints and the Jets.

Weird at best, but NJ gets a chance to see 2 Niner games in a row. Pretty cool if you ask me.

Another notable game is the return of Jimmy G to Massachusetts to face the Brady-less Patriots.

Anyhow, without further ado . . .

Man I like this schedule.Lots of patsy teams!
The AFC Teams they’re playing except for the Bills (and yes even the Pats with a rookieQB they should beat in Foxboro)should be a cakewalk along with Giants,Redskins etc..
I’m looking at a 7-0 start going into a tough matchup against Wilson in Seattle! First 4 teams they start with were a combined 27-37 last year with unsettled QB’s!
    Bring it on 49ers!!!

    • alleykat69 says:

Also a week11 bye is perfect going down the stretch for they’re playoff push compared to the week 3 last year BS!!

    • Weak Fans Like Weak Schedules says:

Only 9er fans either root for their team to lose for higher draft picks or cheer for a cupcake schedule to slide into the playoffs (even though they gripe about New England having an easy schedule). Love the Niner faithful!

  2. Winder says:

i think just about every team in our division improved to some degree. If Murray and Hopkins can get a rhythm they will be tough. Good first game for us. i have a feeling that the league won’t start until at least October so the beginning part of the schedule just might be the ending. Like every year it is mostly about injuries, they will kill any team. i think we improved with the draft too. If it kicks off it should be another fun year.

  3. unca_chuck says:

The Rams I think will fade early and hard. I keep thinking Seattle will, but they keep on ticking. AZ most definitely did.

  4. 12th man says:

Garoppolo was in the top 5 in 3 important stats, I stole this from some other place:
Friendly reminder that Jimmy Garoppolo was the only QB ranked in the top 5 in:

    #4 – Yards per attempt (8.4)
    #5 – Passing TD (27)
    #4 Completion % (69.1)

Not bad considering he played his first full season as a starter coming back from tearing his ACL. | #49ers

I just don’t see Mullens as in that same category of QB, although I do like him.

  5. alleykat69 says:

Mullens is just a junkyard dog although you keep him around and feed him scraps for extra insurance..
He has a cheap contract so no reason not to trade him this coming year.Beater on the other needs to go, hopefully a low rd pick but probably just his release and go with this new guy Brock Bitters? Butters? whatever for the PS…

  6. Grumpy Guy says:

Mullens is a decent backup. He gives you a shot at winning the 2 or 3 games a year when your starter is too banged up to play. That’s all you need or want from your number two QB.

  7. unca_chuck says:

    The Beater has to go.

FWIW if you get the NFL Network, today at 5 they are showing the Rams game.

At 9 PM they are showing the Seattle game

Tomorrow at 8 they are showing the New Orleans game

  8. Winder says:

I like Mullens. When Jimmy went down with the knee injury he played pretty good and you could see the potential to win game in him.

  9. Levhigh Stadium says:

It sure looks like every one of these games will sell out the way Niner fans like it…because every game will feature an empty stadium.

  10. NJ49er says:

Chuck Frank has signed with the NYJ, our team will likely remain in the Eastern time zone between games and…I will lose my effn mind if this Season goes on without fans in the stands.

    • NJ49er says:

Not to mention early September here is typically beautiful in terms of weather.

      • Winder says:

That would be a total bummer, i feel for ya. there is a possibility the games might get moved to the end of the schedule if the league can’t open on time. That’s just a guess anyway. So maybe you might have to wear a coat in January or Feb.

  11. alleykat69 says:

NJ&Winder…I’m hoping the schedule stays the same( u never know cause of the Covaid19 shit) I read where the 49ers specifically asked the NFL scheduling committee along with several other teams if they could have they’re long road trip games put back to back(Jets&Giants)since it really is a disadvantage for both west coast are east coast with the time zone changes to adjust to early are late starts. Looks like the league agreed for them and other teams which only makes sense..
Plus with the Cyrus the Virus still looming less airline travel would be best. The Niners typically stay in Youngstown on back to back and have done much better in recent years cause of that.

    • Winder says:

Yeah, i hope they can kick the season off on time too. I have a feeling they just might try and find a place in Jersey to stay for the week.

  12. unca_chuck says:

They usually go to Youngstown. Sure hope this goes according to plan. Wait and see.
