Doctor Doctor, Please !

Yeah, that last game hurt in so many ways. Namely, Joe Staley fractured his finger. I guess it was the one he couldn’t stop Jadeveon Clowney with. He’s likely out, but shit, Justin Skule did just fine in his spot, and couldn’t have done much worse than Staley did against the Hawks.

Matt Breida is hurt yet again, drawing comparisons to Crystal Todd Shell, the oft-injured linebacker back in the day. Paper Matt?  Ahkello Witherspoon was held out, I guess for no other reason than Emmanuel Moseley is playing so well in his stead that they don’t need to rush him back.

But as we saw, after Emmanuel Sanders left the game with a rib injury, the offensive continuity left with him. Being down George Kittle as well really put  a crimp in Jimmy’s game, and he misfired some shit, but the drops were all killers, and the pass pro (as well as run blocking) was atrocious.

These are all thing was can work on, and hopefully we can get somewhat healthy down the stretch here. Because we have a ton of tough games after this AZ skirmish.

If they had only listened to me and not played the starters that last AZ game, we’d be healthier.

Anyhow, here’s the latest injury report. The good news is DJ Jones’ injury was thought to be season-ending, but he should only miss a week or 2. Unfortunately Blair looks like he has a torn ACL.

Joe Staley
OT
Status Questionable

Staley fractured and dislocated his finger and could miss multiple games, Matt Maiocco reports.

D.J. Jones
DT
Status Out

Jones (groin) has already been ruled out for Sunday’s game against the Cardinals, Cam Inman of The San Jose Mercury News reports.

George Kittle
TE
Status Questionable

Coach Kyle Shanahan expressed hope that Kittle (knee/ankle) will make enough progress this week to return Sunday against the Cardinals, Cam Inman of The San Jose Mercury News reports.

Emmanuel Sanders
WR
Status Questionable

Coach Kyle Shanahan considers Sanders “day-to-day” as a result of the rib injury that forced him from Monday’s 27-24 loss to the Seahawks, Nick Wagoner of ESPN.com reports.

Weston Richburg
C
Status Questionable

Richburg suffered a left hand injury during Monday’s 27-24 loss to the Seahawks, but he shouldn’t have to miss time, Tom Pelissero of NFL Network reports.

Ronald Blair III
DE
Status Questionable

Blair will have an MRI after suffering a potentially serious knee injury during Sunday’s 27-24 loss to the Seahawks, Matt Maiocco of NBC Sports Bay Area reports.

Marquise Goodwin
WR
Status Questionable

Goodwin (wrist) failed to catch any of his three targets, and suffered a wrist injury in Monday’s 27-24 loss to Seattle.

Matt Breida
RB
Status Questionable

Breida will go for a second opinion on his ankle, but initial reports are that the injury isn’t too serious, but he may still need to miss time to let it heal, Tom Pelissero of NFL.com reports.

Ahkello Witherspoon
CB
Status Questionable

Robbie Gould
PK
Status Questionable

Oh, Robbie. How we missed you last weekend . . .

Yeah cue up Doctor Doctor please by UFO , that’s a shitload of injuries.Didnt know Staley fractured his finger after just coming back from a broken leg.Bad luck on his part.Think Blair injury happened when he made a nice play hauling down Wilson ?
Brieda..Man I like his speed and toughness but just can’t stay healthy..Hence the Crystal Todd Shell reference.
Goodwin I bet the 49ers regret now that they gave him a 2 year deal. And Pettis =Jenkins another 1strd Bust at this point!!

  2. unca_chuck says:

Yep one of my faves, AK! Saw ’em in ’78 with Michael Schenker playing lead . . .

  3. unca_chuck says:

This version is pretty fucking cool.

  4. Winder says:

Looks like Kittle’s gonna be out. We will see how strong our team really is with this one. Lots of people need to step up.

  5. unca_chuck says:

Jesus. How long is Kittle out for?

  6. unca_chuck says:

Well, just read that the Niners didn’t rule out Kittle for the AZ game. They backtracked on the ‘ruled out’ status. He, as well as Emmanuel Sanders, is day-to-day.

And Staley is out a couple weeks with his fractured finger that was operated on.

    • Winder says:

My guess is Brieda, Kittle, and Sanders will all sit it out this week. Hopefully Gould and Richberg(sp) will play.

  7. unca_chuck says:

Holy shit. Myles Garrett ripped off Mason Rudolph’s helmet and hit him over the head with it to end the Browns Steelers game.

  8. unca_chuck says:

Browns had another guy ejected for cracking Dionte Johnson, who was bleeding from his ear when he left the game, and Juju Smith-Shuster left with a concussion from another helmet-to helmet hit.

The next Browns Steelers game will be a shit-flier.

    • alleykat69 says:

Ju Ju got hit helmet to helmet by 2 Browns on both sides of his helmet!
And the other one was launched right into the receivers ear lobe at missile speed and that player was rocked and wobbly getting up,which got the player ejected..
But Helmet to Head without helmet that’s just criminal and Myles Garrett season should be over for sure…

      • NJ49er says:

I’d say it’s over and a huge fine is coming.
        Damn near assault worthy.

      • NJ49er says:

        Whole new level of stupidity.
Mistake by the lake has a whole new meaning.
Myles just trashed his reputation for all the world to see.

  9. Winder says:

The Browns are just a mess. They finally beat the Steelers and they don’t even enjoy it. I can imagine the steelers have been tearing into the Browns for years but that is no excuse for Garrett’s behavior.

  10. unca_chuck says:

Their whole coaching staff should be on notice for letting their players get so out of control.

    • NJ49er says:

Can’t put it on the coach Chuck.
      Garrett lost his cool, (mind).
That has to be the most fukd up thing I have ever seen in the NFL.
Seriously, I’m wondering what the angle is related to assault?
      Could have broken his skull.
No room for that in this game.
Roger needs to send message here.

      • unca_chuck says:

Bullshit. Cleveland’s Demarious Randall was thrown out for spearing earlier in the game. Smith-Schuster was knocked out of the game by 2 illegal hits on the same play. Greg Robinson was previously thrown out of a game this season for kicking Delanie Walker. Garrett had 4 other illegal hits and Cleveland leads the league in penalties and penalty yards by 100.

    • Grumpy Guy says:

Start pulling draft choices for egregious violence, and I’ll bet teams get serious in a hurry about player self-control…

  11. Grumpy Guy says:

Garrett needs to be banned for life. Otherwise, this shit will happen again.

    • NJ49er says:

      6-digit fine. Minimum.
      Rest of the season gone
      Replaced by anger management assignment.

      • Grumpy Guy says:

        Not NEARLY severe enough.

He needs to be banned for life, with no ability to apply for clemency / reinstatement for 2 years. Then he needs to be prosecuted in criminal court. Preferably should receive some jail time.

  12. unca_chuck says:

He should get a 16 game suspension. Or 22.

  13. rtfirefly says:

8 seconds left in the game when the fight happened

  14. Grumpy Guy says:

But hey, after Suh got away with his stomping horseshit, why not? Why would *anyone* think Goodell is anything but a feckless puto anyway? The NFL will probably give this shithead a light slap on the wrist then act shocked when someone else does this next year.

  15. unca_chuck says:

Garrett suspended ‘indefinitely’. by Jolly Roger. I think it will be at least a season’s worth of games.

  16. alleykat69 says:

If the Helmet hit Rudolph in the temple they might be planning funeral arrangements right now!
