Sue me, I’m early with this. Got a busy day at work (yes I have a real job), and I’m watching the World Series, and I’ll probably be on BART when the game starts, so here we go. Taking a look at the handy dandy results on the side of this place, and I see that we haven’t beat the Cards since 2014. The dregs of the the Harbaugh era. The garbage game at the end of that woebegone season. IOW, a long fucking time.
But that was then, this is now. Since no one was too keen on my idea of resting some of the starters, I guess we play and hope we come out of this game healthy. As healthy as one can be after playing 2 games in 5 days. Richard Sherman was very outspoken about these Thursday night games, he blew out his Achilles on a Thursday night, and all the players certainly feel it, but here we are. Playing our 2nd division game. One of 3 in a row. AZ, Sea, AZ GOt to love the schedulers for this anomaly. At least we get Seattle at home.
Thing is, the Cards have the same schedule as the Niners. In other words, fodder. Yet they are 3-4-1. They beat the Giants, the Falcons, and the Bengals. Seattle, the Ravens, the Saints, and the Panthers have beaten them. They are always tough at their house, and we seem to be cursed against them, but shit, we got this.
33-17 Niners.
Not to mention Russell Wilson. Yeah, we seemed soft on defense tonight. AZ did a lot of no-huddle that stopped our subbing out and we got burnt for 2 long TD drives. Then the big play late. That being said, we didn’t stop the run well at all either. Strange game.
NFC West looking like the real deal.
Murray showed that he is as slippery as a fish and just as fast. A lot of those plays looked a lot like the college game. He showed he is most dangerous on his play action roll outs. Defenses should figure it out sooner or later like they did with Kap. He ran through our defense without being touched a few times.
We may have lost Kwon for a significant amount of time with a chest injury. That was a big reason AZ moved the ball so well on that 88 yard TD they had. Hopefully it’s not a season ender
I got that little tidbit from ninersnation.
Didn’t hear that.
i guess we will find out sometime today the extent of his injury. Fingers crossed.
He said he has a pretty good range of motion so hopefully he ain’t out for the year.
49ers LB Kwon Alexander will undergo an MRI on his injured chest Friday.
Alexander suffered his chest injury in Thursday night’s win at Arizona. Per beat reporter Matt Maiocco of NBC Sports Bay Area, the 49ers have “some of level of optimism” as to Alexander’s status. Maiocco also noted that Alexander’s “range of motion” didn’t appear to be impeded by his injury. The ex-Buccaneer has impressed in his debut season as a Niner, totaling 34 tackles over 357 defensive snaps while garnering PFF’s top coverage grade among 4-3 outside linebackers.
New thread is up.
