Game Day V! Silencing the Rams

Should be an interesting game. Both sides are a bit banged up. We are banged up on offense with Staley and McGlinchey out, and Kittle hurting. The Rams are banged up on the defensive side with Talib and Matthews out. Plus Gurley.

Advantage us. I think we can still run effectively enough to move the chains and score while the Rams will be even more one-dimensional and we can get after Goff, who has 7 TDs and 7 picks.

28-17 Niners.

The Brownies look pissed. They have an early 14-6 lead over Seattle.

We’ll see how long this lasts.

  2. unca_chuck says:

The all-hype Myles Garrett with his 8th sack of the year.

  3. Grumpy Guy says:

Not long enough, it looks like.

Seattle needs to pay Wilson more. Without him they’d be way under .500. With him, they’re a legitimate playoff contender.

  4. unca_chuck says:

So much for stopping the run.

  5. unca_chuck says:

    Jesus. Didn’t stop one play.

  6. Irish Kevin says:

What happened to last weeks D

  7. alleykat69 says:

Malcom Brown is a beast they’ve never had to use looks like their unleashing him today.Shit TD all on the ground not good…

  8. alleykat69 says:

They did win a challenge, only to make them drive farther as it turned out..

  9. Irish Kevin says:

This game is going to be huge to evaluate Jimmy G, didn’t have to worry about 3rd and long last week. We will see how he handles pressure

  10. Irish Kevin says:

Way to answer with a TD

  11. unca_chuck says:

There you go. Pettis with a gutsy play there.

  12. alleykat69 says:

Ok that’s more like it!They settled down move the ball downfield for a drive for the TD to Coleman!!

  13. unca_chuck says:

Aaaaand the sack! Bosa shoved his guy straight into Goff. Unreal power.

  14. unca_chuck says:

    Fuck, Goodwin. Catch that shit.

  15. unca_chuck says:

Kittle got held but still a terrible pass.

  16. unca_chuck says:

    Rams going deep now.

  17. alleykat69 says:

Shit if they don’t stop Donald this could get ugly..

  18. Grumpy Guy says:

Donald vs. Person or Skule is Godzilla against Bambi.

  19. unca_chuck says:

Nice stop. Shit field position again.

  20. unca_chuck says:

Wow. Gould wasn’t even close. 7-13. He sucks.

  21. Grumpy Guy says:

I don’t care what the team says on the injury report. Gould’s injury was more serious than they’ve been saying.

  22. unca_chuck says:

    Jesus. Catch the damn ball.

  23. alleykat69 says:

Jesus Christ a wide open TD!! Damm it
    Shit throw but still catchable..

  24. unca_chuck says:

Need a quick 3 and out,

  25. alleykat69 says:

Once Coleman came back I think Wilson’s been deactivated…

  26. alleykat69 says:

2 Huge Stuffing The Lambs offense today!!
    Saleh is Ballin on D!!

  27. unca_chuck says:

Jimmy G keeping the Rams in the game. Shit.Throw that ball away. Stupid shit.

  28. unca_chuck says:

Not thrilled about this play calling. Then again, Jimmy G isn’t exactly killing it out there.

  29. unca_chuck says:

Fuck. Up to the D once again.

  30. unca_chuck says:

Wow. Got lucky there. Sherman was toast.

  31. unca_chuck says:

5-0, baby! And the offense was a hot mess.

  32. Grumpy Guy says:

A lot of flaws. But we dominated the Rams anyway. Did you see the way they laid down at the end? Same Old Sorry Ass Rams, says Ronnie.

  33. unca_chuck says:

Nice! Yeah, the Niners dominated the line on both sides of the ball. It was telling on that deep pass late that Goff threw that wasn’t close. 13/24 for 78 yards and 4 sacks.

Suffocating. They did a pretty good job running without Gurley, but not nearly enough.

We were out of synch without Juszcyck and our tackles but we did enough. Goodwin has to catch that deep ball. And ther pick in the end zone? Kittle got held but that was a busted route by someone and there were too many guys there.

  34. Berger says:

I have always said defensive lines win championships. Our D-line is good enough to win a title. We just need a decent offense, which I believe we have. We still have much to prove when the schedule gets tougher.

  35. unca_chuck says:

3 road wins is a pretty nice feather in their cap. We take the Skins, that’s 4 road wins. something that you could look back 6 years and we haven’t done that.

  36. Winder says:

That was a huge win. Even making some mistakes the team came through. I think this team is learning how to win, just think what we might do when we get our injured players back and clean up a few things. This team is definitely special.

  37. Irish Kevin says:

I still want to see the Niners go for the jugular, they ran the ball too much late 3rd and all of the 4th. All it is going to take is a injury or two to the front 4 D and the Niners are going to have to rly on the offense to win games. They only scored 3 point in the second half. Not good! These games are when you should be testing the offense,. Bill Walsh rarely sat back and let the D win the game

    • Irish Kevin says:

In fact Bill wanted to make sure the offense was consistently running on all cylinders, pass and run

      • Winder says:

One good thing about our offense is that Jimmy is a gamer. I think Shanny gets real conservative at times but he has been winning so maybe if/when the time comes he will open it up more.

    • unca_chuck says:

I’m sure some of this was due to the strip sack in the 4th quarter and our banged up line.

  38. NJ49er says:

I’ll catch the entire game replay today but, from what I caught from the RZC, Jimmie Ward was a game wrecker when it mattered –
    Defense is getting it done.

    • Grumpy Guy says:

He came up big, two plays in a row late in the game. Now if Jimmie could only stay healthy for more than a fortnight…

  39. unca_chuck says:

The defense was off the charts seeing as Goff threw for 912 yards his previous 2 games. Some of Goff’s low passing numbers were due to the Rams running early and often. We had a nickel package early and they ran all over it. After that, though, the defensive line took it to the Rams O line.

  40. alleykat69 says:

What I liked was a “Sea of Red” in the stands!
49ers I’m sure fed off of that as well, feeling a home game vibe! Winning brings out the faithful in droves, hope that continues against the lowly Redskins..

  41. unca_chuck says:

I’m sure Shanny wants to stomp the living shit out of Danny boy and the Redskins.

  42. alleykat69 says:

Nice work by Shanny using Taiolo (sp) and Dwelley (sp) in the fullback role for a injured Juicy shows just how much creativity he comes up with. Both did a nice job in helping against the Rams pass rush considering it was both of them getting more game snaps ever..

Here we go . . . . . .
