Game Day V! Silencing the Rams

Should be an interesting game. Both sides are a bit banged up. We are banged up on offense with Staley and McGlinchey out, and Kittle hurting. The Rams are banged up on the defensive side with Talib and Matthews out. Plus Gurley.

Advantage us. I think we can still run effectively enough to move the chains and score while the Rams will be even more one-dimensional and we can get after Goff, who has 7 TDs and 7 picks.

28-17 Niners.

Once Coleman came back I think Wilson’s been deactivated…

2 Huge Stuffing The Lambs offense today!!
    Saleh is Ballin on D!!

Jimmy G keeping the Rams in the game. Shit.Throw that ball away. Stupid shit.

  4. unca_chuck's avatar unca_chuck says:

Not thrilled about this play calling. Then again, Jimmy G isn’t exactly killing it out there.

  5. unca_chuck's avatar unca_chuck says:

Fuck. Up to the D once again.

  6. unca_chuck's avatar unca_chuck says:

Wow. Got lucky there. Sherman was toast.

  7. unca_chuck's avatar unca_chuck says:

5-0, baby! And the offense was a hot mess.

A lot of flaws. But we dominated the Rams anyway. Did you see the way they laid down at the end? Same Old Sorry Ass Rams, says Ronnie.

  9. unca_chuck's avatar unca_chuck says:

Nice! Yeah, the Niners dominated the line on both sides of the ball. It was telling on that deep pass late that Goff threw that wasn’t close. 13/24 for 78 yards and 4 sacks.

Suffocating. They did a pretty good job running without Gurley, but not nearly enough.

We were out of synch without Juszcyck and our tackles but we did enough. Goodwin has to catch that deep ball. And ther pick in the end zone? Kittle got held but that was a busted route by someone and there were too many guys there.

I have always said defensive lines win championships. Our D-line is good enough to win a title. We just need a decent offense, which I believe we have. We still have much to prove when the schedule gets tougher.

3 road wins is a pretty nice feather in their cap. We take the Skins, that’s 4 road wins. something that you could look back 6 years and we haven’t done that.

  12. Winder's avatar Winder says:

That was a huge win. Even making some mistakes the team came through. I think this team is learning how to win, just think what we might do when we get our injured players back and clean up a few things. This team is definitely special.

I still want to see the Niners go for the jugular, they ran the ball too much late 3rd and all of the 4th. All it is going to take is a injury or two to the front 4 D and the Niners are going to have to rly on the offense to win games. They only scored 3 point in the second half. Not good! These games are when you should be testing the offense,. Bill Walsh rarely sat back and let the D win the game

    • Irish Kevin's avatar Irish Kevin says:

In fact Bill wanted to make sure the offense was consistently running on all cylinders, pass and run

      • Winder's avatar Winder says:

One good thing about our offense is that Jimmy is a gamer. I think Shanny gets real conservative at times but he has been winning so maybe if/when the time comes he will open it up more.

I’m sure some of this was due to the strip sack in the 4th quarter and our banged up line.

I’ll catch the entire game replay today but, from what I caught from the RZC, Jimmie Ward was a game wrecker when it mattered –
    Defense is getting it done.

    • Grumpy Guy's avatar Grumpy Guy says:

He came up big, two plays in a row late in the game. Now if Jimmie could only stay healthy for more than a fortnight…

  16. unca_chuck's avatar unca_chuck says:

The defense was off the charts seeing as Goff threw for 912 yards his previous 2 games. Some of Goff’s low passing numbers were due to the Rams running early and often. We had a nickel package early and they ran all over it. After that, though, the defensive line took it to the Rams O line.

What I liked was a “Sea of Red” in the stands!
49ers I’m sure fed off of that as well, feeling a home game vibe! Winning brings out the faithful in droves, hope that continues against the lowly Redskins..

  18. unca_chuck's avatar unca_chuck says:

I’m sure Shanny wants to stomp the living shit out of Danny boy and the Redskins.

  19. alleykat69's avatar alleykat69 says:

Nice work by Shanny using Taiolo (sp) and Dwelley (sp) in the fullback role for a injured Juicy shows just how much creativity he comes up with. Both did a nice job in helping against the Rams pass rush considering it was both of them getting more game snaps ever..
