Thoughts? Bosa, for all his redneck racist charm, is our #1 pass rusher. A safe pick. My concern with him, as NJ noted, is his durability. Our defense looks much improved from last year. Saleh has to make this shit work immediately.

I am 99.9% sure we take a CB or WR with the 36th pick. I guess I’m 75% sure we go WR as there are a lot of CBs that we can get, and just a couple more bad-ass WRs. Boykin is stil the guy I like.

The Raiders had 3 picks and appeared to want to baffle the league with their selections. Ferrell is solid, but a big reach at the 4 spot. Josh Jacobs,a running back in the 1st round? They could have waited till the round 2 – 35th pick and gotten him. Abrams the Safety? Yeah, good pick but they need corners. A little surprise there, but they;’ll likely go corner with that 35th pick.

The NY Giants had 2 picks and took the slow white QB Jones instead of the mobile fast guy Haskins. Lucky for them, they will see how stupid that move was 2x a year since the Redskins picked him at 15.

Crazier still, TWO tight ends from Iowa (hello, George Kittle), Hockenson and Fant, went in the first round.

And for those keeping score . . .

  3. alleykat69 says:

With the Raiders already stacked up in WR’s that only leaves Arizona &Indy with potential WR’s picks are go other directions! We should get a stud WR now if we hold pat.Though Greedy Williams still has me intrigued with his size 6’2 49ers always like tall CB’s the guy can flat out cover(toughness might be his downfall though in teams thinking 🤔)just not sold on are secondary especially another year older with Sherman, but WTF I’ll go all in on the WR first!

    • Winder says:

I would like to see us go for a WR also I think there are a few out there that could fall to us. Hopefully, with a decent pass rush our CB’s wiil fare better this year. Hopefully there will be one at # 67. So far we have not only took the BPA but we also got need.

  4. rtfirefly says:

5 count ’em 5 first round picks on the DLine. That’s gotta be some kind of record.

  5. Rob says:

Hey we got Bosa ! My high school buddy John Bosa’s son ! Awesome !

  6. rob says:

    Going WR in 2 IMO

  7. unca_chuck says:

    No shit, ROB?

    Addressing the tweets already . . .

  8. unca_chuck says:

If Greedy is still there at CB, he’d be hard to pass up. He may not make it to us though. Boykins is my choice

  9. Winder says:

It would not surprise me if we take a OT and maybe in the long run that would be the best way to go. We do have to make sure JImmy stays upright. Personally I would still like to get a big red zone WR. At this point I think it will be either a OL or WR

    • rtfirefly says:

Risner might be able to play OG until Staley retires, so he’s intriguing. Otherwise I’d be happy with either a CB or WR, though a small quick Kyle special.

My money, figuratively speaking, in heavily on WR. Greedy Williams might upset the applecart though.

  10. unca_chuck says:

I don’t think we go O line today. Tomorrow, yes.

  11. rob says:

Yeah Chuck it was Keene High School in Keene NH. Went there for three years before i moved to Florida.

    • rtfirefly says:

Wow! I worked in Salem for a very short time way back when, Rob. Professional success dismal personal failure unfortunately. Was making a fortune and no state income tax! Drove through Keene once. Must’ve been quite the change; more people in the Tampa-St. Pete area than in the State of New Hampshire.

  12. alleykat69 says:

As much as I like Miles Boykins and his fantastic combine stats, I think teams are rating him lower around 3rd.To me the pick is a polished Receiver and that’s AJ Brown. If he’s gone you go Greedy Williams hopefully available as well. Greedy’s size and speed 4.37 is unmatched, and he totally shutdown DK Metcalf in their matchup to the tune of 4 catches 37 yards!!
Their’s rumors about Deebo Samuels as well, hope that’s just a rumor.Could still probably get Boykin are that tall dude 6’5Hakeem Butler in the 3rd

  13. unca_chuck says:

Boykins is going to crush it in the NFL.

  14. Baby Bosa says:

So now you liberals are cool with a wingnut like Bosa because he got drafted by the Niners? Imagine the shock and chagrin from consistent Americans like Skeebers and No Fear when the read through the idiotic double standards of this blue state blog!

  15. alleykat69 says:

Ok I’m cool with Cards selection 😎
Opens it up better for the 49ers pick!

  16. alleykat69 says:

Deebo Samuels I’m not shocked 😳 can return kickoffs as well!! Greedy are AJ Brown would of worked for sure too, oh well 😔

  17. Winder says:

As long as we can move the sticks that’s ok. Someone is going to have to go though. Surprised we took another slot guy. Maybe we pick up a big WR down the road.

  18. alleykat69 says:

Damm one of the all time legends Jim Brown going down fast! Don’t mind the cane no big deal, but he just said :In the 2013 NFL Draft the Cleveland Browns take Greedy Williams! Now I’m glad we didn’t take Williams who’s 27 are more..

  19. unca_chuck says:

    He;s 83, man! Give him a break.

Deebo? He’s fine but I still think Boykins is gonna kill it in the league. We need an edge guy, not ANOTHER slot guy.

  20. rtfirefly says:

    Pettis, Samuel, Goodwin starters
Bourne, Matthews, Taylor, James – fighting for backup roster spots

    Awful lot of potential there

  21. alleykat69 says:

Boykin would already be off the board if he dominated that much.Hell Metcalf is still on the board, which shocks me!
Samuels sealed his spot with the 49ers with his showing in the Senior Bowl game coached by Shanny, who’s his type player imo that can go wide are slot position and kick offs, that’s all bonuses imo

  22. alleykat69 says:

So far nailed both picks of need! With 2 starters!
    Grade A-

  23. rtfirefly says:

    There’s your big WR guys.

  24. Winder says:

What fun. We just might have ourselves that dynamic offense that we’ve dreamed of for a long time. Hurd looks like a work in process but he’s surrounded by a bunch of youngsters anyway, let the competition begin. I love it when we pick offense.

  25. rtfirefly says:

Hurd as maybe a Big short yardage RB/2nd TE/RZ WR hybrid? Can put him in motion and put him anywhere.

  26. Winder says:

So far it looks like we went for need even though we got the best rated edge and one of only two WR’s that were rated in the 80″s with Deebo. Hurd might have been a little bit of a reach but the dude is big and fast and can do a bunch of different things which is a need for us. Anyway, the next 3 picks are just as important as the last three. Curious to see what we do.

  27. rtfirefly says:

A punter in Rd. 4. Ha! I called Rd. 6.

  28. rtfirefly says:

In with Nick Bosa. Out with Dekota Watson, traded to Denver. The roster is definitely taking a turn for the better.

  29. alleykat69 says:

A punter lol following in the Pinion tradition!
Won’t make Chuck Happy, drafting a punter this high, are we the only team in the league that does this? Oh well he’s got a strong legA Ray Guy winner, right up there as the top punter, so no chump, just a reach, built like a LB and he’s an Aussie that moves around back there like the Aussie the Seahawks have Dickson should be a fun matchup when these 2 hook up..

  30. Jon Grruden says:

You guys are making fun of MY picks and then you draft a punter?? Hahahahahahahaha!

  31. Winder says:

    We got our big TE.

  32. alleykat69 says:

Won’t they ever learn not to draft Stanford players!
Kaden Smith is slower then molasses!
    Terrible pick!

  33. alleykat69 says:

    CB Tim Harris Virginia!
Like the pick could be a steal!
Has the height 6’2 205 lbs ran a 4.43 vertical jump 39 inch and had the longest broad jump 11 ft7 inches among all CB!!

  34. unca_chuck says:

Fuck me! A punter at 4??? Holy fuck.

Seriously stupid move. I like most of this, but a fucking punter?

    • Winder says:

They must really think something of the guy to take him in the 4th. It also has to be a need pick, so who knows. If he can be near as good as Andy Lee then the pick is worth it. Lets hope.

    • rtfirefly says:

100 return yds. total on his last 106 punts. 45 something gross average, moon shot hang time, directional punter. Super athletic (fast) to boot. Damn straight we got a punter, Aussie rules same as the Seahawks’ Dickson (1st string All-Pro), 2018 5th round. Pats spent a 5th rounder this year; they might easily have jumped us for the best punter in college football.

      • Berger says:

I wasn’t to pleased about taking as punter with the 4th pick but less than 100 return yards on his last 106 kicks with a net avg of over 45 yds just jumps right off the page.

  35. alleykat69 says:

Curious how often this punter gets one blocked.Not. a fan of these guys (Dickson too) running around some before they kick, guess it’s a rugby thing.Mitch does look 👀 like athlete though (yeah I know it’s a fucking punter) he’s made some big runs in college on fakes I can see that happening with us.Also handles kickoffs with a strong leg, and when Gould decides to shank a few being butt heart ,Mitch maybe can bomb a FG as well.It was a need pick since they didn’t have a punter in camp, and you might as well get a polished on from college, then a line of tryout scrubs..

  36. rtfirefly says:

We spent a 5th rounder on Pinion and he was not anything to write home about at Clemson. I don’t even think he was the top college punter that year. I remember being furious at the pick.

This mate’s a different story. 4.6 40 btw. Alleykat is right, though. 3 blocks his sr. season, needs to fix that.

  37. Winder says:

Looks like the Utes have a open door to Aussie kickers, I think they two more on their team right now.

  38. alleykat69 says:

The only thing that gets under my skin when the 49ers draft is that they concentrate on the top 3-4 picks ( punter at 110 to high for sure but a need) they don’t see the value in the lower rounds and just seem to go thru the motions. They really need to fire on all cylinders for each rd.a like the Patriots find nuggets other teams don’t ,and always drafting last, are so,it’s just amazing how they always do that, and a great reason they stay on top for decades..

    • NJ49er says:

      Totally agree AK.
Can’t understand the logic with several of our Picks this year.
Sure hope I’m wrong and they’re right.
Jalen Hurd? 3rd RD? Absolutely don’t see that one. Not when he’s a converting RB to WR project. Coulda had Hakeem Butler, (who actually is a WR) with production on his resumè.
Losing my mind with these guys and, whether there is a ‘Draft strategy’ of any kind.
      See where it goes……

    • NJ49er says:

Others see it the same way AK –

      San Francisco 49ers
Draft picks: Ohio State DE Nick Bosa (No. 2 overall); South Carolina WR Deebo Samuel (No. 36); Baylor WR Jalen Hurd (No. 67); Utah P Mitch Wishnowsky (No. 110); Arkansas LB Dre Greenlaw (No. 148); Stanford TE Kaden Smith (No. 176); Vanderbilt OT Justin Skule (No. 183); Virginia CB Tim Harris (No. 198)
      Day 1 grade: A
      Day 2 grade: A
      Day 3 grade: C
      Overall grade: A-

  39. NJ49er says:

    CB Tim Harris?
Put him on the list, (right now), with Ward, for durability concerns.
Kid was a College Sr for 3yrs due to injuries.
    UVA career – 2013-2018 – 109 Tkls/4 Ints.
    Big fukn….Meh.
Hope it’s out of his system now.

  40. NJ49er says:

This sort of looks like Lynch deals with no long-term plan too –
He gave away a 2nd in 2020 (Dee) – Might have done well to try to get it back?
Not that he couldn’t try next April but, he doesn’t impress me as much of a wheeler-dealer when the calls are being worked.

    Bengals receive:
» 2019 fourth-round pick (No. 104; select QB Ryan Finley)

    49ers receive:
    » 2019 fourth-round pick (No. 110; select P Mitch Wishnowsky)
    » 2019 sixth-round pick (No. 183; select T Justin Skule)

    Broncos receive:
    » 2019 sixth-round (No. 212; trade to Panthers)
    » LB Dekoda Watson

    49ers receive:
    » 2019 fifth-round (No. 148; select LB Dre Greenlaw)

  41. rob says:

Oh , hands down my favorite pick of the day has to be Mitch Wishnowsky !

  42. unca_chuck says:

I wishnowsky i get draftedsky in the 4th roundsky.

    His wish came true.
