This year has flown by faster than a Skyy Moore kickoff return. And 2026 will come roaring in like a hoard of desperate miners looking for gold. The offense at least appears to be pretty healthy for the showdown in the mudflats of Santa Clara. The 49ers have defied all the odds (and oddsmakers) and positioned themselves for the #1 seed in the NFC.
Seemed like a pretty tough row to hoe when the team lost that week 10 vs the Rams and was out of the playoffs. But a 6 game winning streak helped. Make it 7 and the road to Super Bowl LX in Santa Clara goes through Santa Clara.
And frankly, I think this game with Seattle will be easier than the Bears game was. Caleb Williams is a much better QB than Sourdough Gingerbread Sam Darnold. Sure he started out red-hot, but since week 11, Darnold has 8 touchdowns to go with his 8 interceptions. He has an 81.5 passer rating. His sacks per game is up to 2.1. Yeah, they are riding their own 6 game winning streak, but I have a feeling that Sam will repeat his failure last year and fade down the stretch in the biggest of games.
Again though, this depends on the pressure. Saleh HAS used press-man coverage and blitzed in situations that called for it. Then again, he was laid back and gone soft in those occasions as well. Demo Lenoir is looking to shadow JSN, and with DK Metcalf gone, a needs to rival to fuck with.

The invisible man, RB Isaac Horrendo, has been demoted off the 53 and rookie RB Jordan James has taken his place.
Not that we should expect to see James on O unless CMC or Robinson get injured, but at least he has managed to gain enough trust to play on more than ST.
ST coach Brant Boyer spoke highly of James which is the main reason for the change.

Curious how Guerendo totally ended up in the doghouse all year,after showing so much promise?Hell every RB was banged up last year but it was Shanny’s mission to make him a permanent whipping boy, and for sure will be gone next year!Once they got Brian Robinson Jr it sealed his fate.,

Horrendo was big and fast but had absolutely no field vision, constantly running straight into the back of his linemen or not seeing the huge hole to run through and had chronic fumbleitis.
Even when they used him on ST as a returner he could never figure out where to run. I’m not at all surprised he got demoted, just surprised how long it took Jordan James to be better.
Just another failed RB on the 9ers long list of failed RB under Shanahan.
I think Turner has a lot to do with our RB’s also but there sure is plenty of blame to go around. We have spent a lot of quality picks with very little reward.
If you get in Bobby Turners dog house you never come out again. He’s a tough, old school coach. No wimps allowed.

I think the worst ref for the 49ers in history was Jerry Markbreit. Not far behind him is Bill Vinovich. He will be refereeing our game on Saturday.
Tin foil hat time. If the refs are tipping the scales, then you’d think us getting home field and playing a home super bowl would benefit the league money-wise.
But the refs union is their own separate entity and is not beholden to the NFL, though. They could more easily be swayed by Vegas machinations. Seattle is still the fave getting -1.5.

Niners will be having an “All Blackout Saturday Night “ wearing new black helmets with SF emblem and red stripes on them and black uniforms I believe?Fans are encouraged to wear black!Time to kick Ass!

I’m about 20 minutes SW of Levi’s but sun is out in patches temp is mild. Per SF Chron weather not supposed to be factor, light rain game time or during.
Bigger factors would be how well SF can run ball vs. Hawks D, and what version of Darnold Seattle gets. This is playoff level game and his recent history in same isn’t good.
It’s gonna be a dogfight and I hope we can strike early and both our lines stay healthy. Lot of history here glad it’s at home.
Happy New Year everyone. So far weather app shows no heavy rain till 8:00 PM, most NFL analysts are saying Purdy is peaking with his abilities. That is great for the offense. The D just needs stops, a couple of 3 and outs, and a pick or fumble to win. Easy!! Ha ha of course nothing is easy butt it should be fun to watch. Win or lose, Niners Niners are going to the playoffs
