Thursday Night Rams / Hawks

I’ll tell you, the Rams defense is not very good. Slow their pass rush, and they can be had. Yeah, they killed us last time but we were moving up and down the field on them. With Mac Jones.

Their offense is out of this world, yeah, there’s no denying that, but the hope is that we can get some kind of health back on our defense to shore things up for these last few games and a close-your-eyes playoff run.

I guess we want the Seahawks to win? Win out and we own the tiebreaker with the Seahawks, but not the Rams. I don’t see the Cards beating LA, but maybe the Falcons find lightning in a bottle and win their game at home vs LA. So, LA would have to lose 2 out of these 3.

Doubt that will happen, but just watching McVay go for it 4 times in this game already makes me think the Rams just may very well trip over their dicks tonight.

So I guess it don’t really matter. If we win out we are the 5 seed. Or maybe the 1. Being the 5-6 seed gives us TB or Iggles. I don;t know. I just want to see a pass rush. This offense can win a Super Bowl.

Rams have 250 yards halfway thru the 1st half and are losing.

    So much for Seattle.

Holy shit. Sea converts on a 3rd and 16 run play.

And a little love for Jimi.

    Knowing head nod for that.

    • willedav's avatar willedav says:

wow thanks that was fantastic, especially the ending he and band put on.

      Let Jimi take over, indeed.

Really regret all the times I was in Seattle for mgmt conferences never knew about Hendrix museum right on way into Chihully glass blowing exhibit. We walked over there to Chihully from parking lot as guests of vendor and then saw Hendrix venue as we were leaving. Is it still there?

  2. unca_chuck's avatar unca_chuck says:

    There you go.

Sea could have very well taken the lead at the end of the half. But they tripped over their dicks

  3. unca_chuck's avatar unca_chuck says:

3rd and 9 and Sea goes soft and gives up 40.

    Why are DCs so dumb?

  4. unca_chuck's avatar unca_chuck says:

    Hmmmmmmmm.

That’s news to me. IF all 3 teams end up tied at 13-4, the 49ers win the tiebreaker.

  5. alleykat69's avatar alleykat69 says:

Unreal the Rams have self destructed as Seahawks have come all the way back thanks to a a fucking crazy 2point backwards pass?(BS?) that Charbonnet reluctantly just grabbed it in the endzone to tie it up 30-30..

  6. alleykat69's avatar alleykat69 says:

Thanks Blade! The Seahawks just helped the 49ers bigtime with their win.Niners could win out and beat Seattle all 3 teams could end up 13-4 and the Niners win the tiebreakers and #1 top seed!!

  7. unca_chuck's avatar unca_chuck says:

When Darnold got nearly pick 6ed i figured the game was over. Turned it on an hour later to see the Rams miss the FG and the OT.

    Crazy.

  8. Winder's avatar Winder says:

If this doesn’t fire up the Niners nothing will. I think we have the toughest road to end the season but who could have thought we would be here right now.

  9. unca_chuck's avatar unca_chuck says:

That reversal of the backward pass and subsequent 2 pt conversion was the weirdest thing I’ve seen in a while. Whoever the Seattle guy was that picked up the ball in the end zone was either lucky or clued in.

    • alleykat69's avatar alleykat69 says:

It was a weird play but it did look like a backwards pass and it even went off a defenders helmet.Everyone thought the play was over but Charbonnet who probably didn’t know himself casually went over and touched the ball then all hell broke out,McVay was livid about that call after the game blasting the refs that a whistle wasn’t blown ending the play..

  10. alleykat69's avatar alleykat69 says:

I just don’t see any reason the Niners don’t crush old man Rivers who throws Steve Spurrier knuckle balls with no velocity and can only throw short passes they can cheat up on a lot of plays for a pick.if they stack the box to stop Taylor then blitz the statue they should roll 27-10..

One guy I’m worried about is Ricky Pearsall is he are new Mr.Glass?from the start of training camp..Hamstring injury, then the pcl to the knee 5-6 weeks?comes back now same soreness in the knee and added a ankle injury against Titans.

I do have no worries about Purdy and his toe injury , either with that 26 yard run and his jump pass TD to Kittle getting off the ground theirs no doubt he’s fine! Niners now up to 20% to win the division just win out baby!!

    • blade3colorado's avatar blade3colorado says:

Yeah, I really doubt Rivers will give them any trouble. I’ve always liked his “never say die” attitude, but like you said AK, there’s little to no zip on his “Wiffle ball” like passes. Additionally, he is the definition of a “stationary QB.” Sheesh, I just looked this up – he “famously ran a 5.08 second 40 yard dash at the NFL Combine, which is exceptionally slow even for a pocket passing QB.” lol

I suspect even our undermanned/injured defense will make short work of him.

  11. willedav's avatar willedav says:

McVay is heimlich. He screwed up the SoFi game vs. Niners and lost to Shanahan and Mac Jones and now per cbs site Rams last 5 possessions in regulation were 4 x 3 and outs and missed FG. Special teams gave up the long punt return TD where nobody was near the guy when he first caught and barely touched him all the way to the end zone.

  12. unca_chuck's avatar unca_chuck says:

When McVay had Aaron Donald and Jalen Ramsey, that team was much tougher. They do not have the defense they’ve had, and he’s made a shit-ton of bad decisions to lose big games. If not for the one Super Bowl he’d be as snake-bit as Shanahan.

We go as far as our pass rush goes. Even more so with Rivers, hit him early and get him skittish. I’d bring 6 every passing down.

  13. unca_chuck's avatar unca_chuck says:

The Eagles are hysterical. I hope we get them in the 1st round. Their special teams are gagging the doad when the kicker missed 3 FGs in the 1st half after fumbling the opening kickoff.

  14. unca_chuck's avatar unca_chuck says:

Looks like Bethune and Sam O are coming back. So that’s good. Really starting to wonder and worry about Pearsall.

    He’s out for this game.

Gross-Matos is forever on the IR.

    • alleykat69's avatar alleykat69 says:

Some players can play with a lot of pain Glass Pearsall isn’t one of them. For example RB Josh Jacobs didn’t practice all week with same injuries knee&ankle but is playing tonight just proves how tough a player he is!

Rams fire their ST coach Chase Blackburn after they gave up a punt return TD killing play to Shaheed and Fat Boy Mevis missed a 48 yard FG

  15. unca_chuck's avatar unca_chuck says:

Yeah, hard to tell with Pearsall. He didn’t miss a game in college. But starting yur career getting shot aibnlt no picnic.

What I wonder is, does Deebo think, shit I coulda been in the playoffs this year if I hadn’t been a dick? Or is he more than happy to be collecting checks on a 4-11 team and watching from the outside?

It’s even more baffling for BA as he was really getting in sync with Purdy.

  16. unca_chuck's avatar unca_chuck says:

Just guessing but the Pack winning is in our best interest I’d think.

  17. blade3colorado's avatar blade3colorado says:

    Green not playing either.

  18. unca_chuck's avatar unca_chuck says:

GB being retarded. Wow. Woulda been a little easier if GB wins, but we still need to just win out.

This ending is just laughable. GB is gagging this up.

  19. unca_chuck's avatar unca_chuck says:

Wow. That was a crazy game. GB gave it away 4 times in the 4th and OT.

  20. alleykat69's avatar alleykat69 says:

Yeah Packers bumbling away a sure win with inexcusable turnovers up 10 points late and Totally Blowing an onside kick which never works anymore till tonight)which would of wrapped it up instead Romeo Doubs turned into Preston Riley and it was all down here from there..

    • 12th Man's avatar 12th Man says:

3rd round pick and (future) starting LB Nick Martin went on IR today. Active for just 7 games, mostly on ST and a handful of D snaps.

The 9ers curse of the 3rd round continues.

  21. 12th Man's avatar 12th Man says:

Kawakami is taking the Colts to beat the Niners, he has got the last 9 games correct so let’s hope he’s wrong.

Colts starting LT is out and they already had lost their starting RT. They also have ruled their 2 starting CB out.

I find it hard to see how the Colts win this game, their big time run game has really slowed down, albeit against good defenses, and the have Philip (Methuselah) Rivers as their starting QB.

load the box, play close to the line of scrimmage and blitz very little. Take away his short yardage completions and slow down the run.

On O, take high percentage plays and go on long scoring drives which is what they have been doing, and win TOP.

    • unca_chuck's avatar unca_chuck says:

IF their CBs are questionable, we should romp. Purdy killed Tenn and they are down their starting CBs. But that was with Pearsall. He was getting open all game. Fun to watch live as it was so obvious they couldn’t cover him.

    • blade3colorado's avatar blade3colorado says:

Wow! Surprised Kawakami is going with the colts. Going to see if I can remove the paywall from the Merc and read this. Thanks for sharing . . .

  22. unca_chuck's avatar unca_chuck says:

The offense should be OK. I always worry about the defense. We’ve been playing the bend-don’t-break D and it SHOULD work vs Indy, but with no pressure on Rivers, he can still hit passes.

And there’s the time zone thing, but at least it isn’t a morning game.

All about the mistakes. Don’t make ’em and we should win handily. So that’s mainly on Purdy and int’s.

Always fun to see Dallas get smoked.

  24. blade3colorado's avatar blade3colorado says:

HAHAHA . . . Fooled me initially 12th Man, as I assumed this would be a Mercury column. Nope. Found it via AI . . . https://sfstandard.com/2025/12/20/49ers-colts-nfc-playoff-predictions/

Anyway, I’m hoping Kawakami is WRONG. Lombardi has us on a path to win an almost easy game. See what’s what tomorrow.

  25. unca_chuck's avatar unca_chuck says:

Willie, it isn’t the Experience Hendrix museum anymore, it’s the Museum of Pop Culture, but there is a ton of Hendrix and Cobain stuff in there in the music part. Went there early this year w/my son. They have a Chris Cornell statue out front now.

I’m bummed I haven’t seen the Hendrix statue nearby.

  26. alleykat69's avatar alleykat69 says:

With the Lions loss both the Bears and 49ers clinched playoff spots!!!

And for Kawacrapo hole he can stick his shit where the sun doesn’t shine! He’s been a freaking “TOOL” for years with no substance!Just get a dinner for 2 with the other TOOL Grant Cohn a perfect match together..
