Walking Unwounded?

I don’t know. At least we got Bartch back. And Pearsall was back at practice. We are down to Demarcus Robinson, Russell Gage, Junior Bergen, Marquez Callaway, and Terique Owens as the WR corps at this point. Hey. It’s early and folks will hopefully come back from their various injuries.

Thing about JJ though, is he’s working through the dreaded calf injury. It could be a sign of a bad achilles. Don’t want to go through that shit again with someone else. At least he didn’t sign a deal yet.

Dee Winters is apparently catching on to what Saleh is selling and is having a solid camp. He’s looking like the front runner for the weak-side LB. Nick Martin is ready and available as the strong-side LB. CJ West as also making noise as to be starting this season with a very strong camp. He’s getting a lot of inside pressure. Something VERY sorely lacking in recent years.

Collins on the other hand is rusty and not providing much. Yet. He of course held out and was hurt anyway.

As it is, so it is. It’s early.

And, according to the wonks, Trey Lance teads the MVP voting for the 2025 season.

Make a play for Terry McLaurin with JJ being set back. May have said this before, but this was my first favorite band as a young stoner back in 1974. Saw them with the Beach Boys in a day on the green in 1975. Great show.

No wonder Hendrix took these guys on tour with him when he saw them at the Whiskey.

During the bowl season, I saw Collins dominate. He plays too high but made plays anyway. DTs often take a full year to be effective because the position takes so much strength and technique. I expect he will be a situational player this year. He needs to learn to play lower. He has a very high ceiling. I hope he reaches it.

West is a different story. His college video looked like a who can star immediately. He won’t be a pass rusher but he plays with great leverage. Collins could be the guy who replaces him on passing downs. I think Collins will be good, just not so much this year. He’ll make some plays but he’ll also get washed out some. Kind of like DJ Jones 1st year.

Very few rookies are plug and play. What I usually look for is heart and what they will take for the team. I have always liked players like Ulbrick(sp) who really wasn’t the best LB but the dude was fierce a true 49er.

from our favorite today on williams

He sets a mean edge, but he’s not developing as pass rusher as quickly as he should because he hasn’t participated in the 1-on-1 pass-rush drills since he missed a practice with an ankle injury. It’s the same ankle that bothered him all of last season — I asked him today, and he confirmed. Surely, the 49ers thought his ankle injury wouldn’t linger this long, but it has. Not great.

Fuck. What in the wide wide world of sports is going on here?

We were the most injured team in the league and it is getting worse with each day.

I thought all these practices that have been scaled back was supposed to protect the players.

kicking competition looks like its done, they released Joseph’s, also QB Tanner Mordecai after signing Gus Bradley’s kid. WR Neyor who had a couple of head turning catches was also released, Larry Krueger will be devastated.

Guerendo out with a shoulder injury for “a few weeks’. Kevin Givens is out ‘a while’.

I guess the question should be ‘who isn’t hurt’?
