A Deal is a Deal is a Deal?

Pro Football Talk’s Mike Florio recently broke down what Brock Purdy’s contract structure might look like. The deal’s overall value would cost $280 million.

Purdy gets a $55.1 million annual average value, behind just Dak Prescott and Josh Allen. The extension will last for five years, per Florio.

“The guaranteed average at signing would be $46.8 million, Which is a far cry from $55.1 million. And, if the final year or two contains higher salaries (let’s go with $60 million in 2029 and 2030), it would really be a four-year, $160.846 million deal. Which equates to an average payout from signing of $40.2 million per year.”

And word is, they are ‘close’ to a deal. Sounds good to me. As speculation goes it’s as good as anything else out there.

    12th and I agree.

It’s all about guaranteed money with these contracts. The rest is NFL mumbo jumbo and creative accounting.

    Smoke and mirrors.

I think the only reason Purdy’s contract hasn’t already been signed is because of his agent. My understand is that he’s new to the business and wants to show the sports world he knows what he’s doing. I don’t see Purdy being the holdout kind of guy, but I could be wrong on that too.

The fact he didn’t hold out, or even hold in, means he wants to get a deal done.

Nothing happens until May 27th tho.

Man, I had a billion 45s when i was young. When the school I was in was forced to close when I was in 4th grade they had a big raffle and yard sale to get rid of all the stuff. A buddy and me won the collection of 45s they had, we got like 150 each.

The only one I remember was Ohio by CSNY. It filled both sides of the 45.

I know for a lot of people records are back in style but I don’t about 45’s. I had a boatload of em too, a lot came from my sister.

Williams is sure getting a lot of great press these days. Frankly I dig their first 5 picks, even if I’m not quite sold on Stout. But even he is getting good press.

Wait and see and all that but this looks lke a very good draft.

Still waiting on Purdy but it looks like that is almost a done deal.

    • Winder's avatar Winder says:

yeah I don’t remember the press giving us this many positive articles after any draft. But I feel good about it too. We had to hit on this one so we will see soon enough.
