I see this Season starting with lots of motion and ground attack.
Our OL is going to take time to adjust to the new system, however, a WCO should help them once Alex and the WRs get into the necessary rhythm.
Game 1, lots of Gore and Hunter, 9ers win a close one. I do expect Harbaugh to take some deep shots though, VD and Braylon will be a nice duo.

Going to be wild. Niners will pick around 9:00 PM tonight. Each team has 10 Minutes, 6 per hour, draft will end around midnight
Fat Man in the middle sounds fine to me Irish Kevin. That’s the one addition I’ve speculated as being a sleeper option.
All depends on the Board and whether we stay pat at 31. If they move up I can see OT WR CB.
from steelerswire and overcap steelers added 7mil from a restructure to 18 mil cap:
No team amasses that level of cap space just days before the draft unless there’s a plan to try and trade for a player who is going to cost big bucks. The position we keep hearing about with the Steelers is wide receiver. Specifically San Francisco 49ers wide receiver Brandon Aiyuk and Denver Broncos wide receiver Cortland Sutton.
CB, DT, OT, WR, Safety, TE, RB, LB, DE and QB
Presuming they don’t bundle picks.
BA stays.
I see us trading up for a tackle and a tackle only.
Aiyuk? I guess what is gonna happen is gonna happen. They have the wherewithal to sign him. An extension now would save the Niners money. For THIS season.
Next season is next season. They have to look short-term as this team would be worse without BA in 2024.
Purdy would probably make a lot of WR’s look good but he definitely makes Aiyuk look great, hope we keep him. My guess is we get a couple of D guys in the first 2rds and then offense for a bit. We don’t have a lot of ammo to move up very far anyway unless we hand out some of next years spots. I still want Gore’s kid and Rice’s kid and Luke McCaffrey.
You just know they have been taught the 49er way.
If the drive is there for them to win at any cost I’m with you Winder.
Pittsburgh and Denver are sure gonna have interesting seasons at QB all because of Russell Wilson. Denver is paying $40 mill for him to play in Pittsburgh. Wilson’s better days may have passed him by, but I think Sean Payton really fucked up his handling of RW.
But like the Raiders a couple years ago, the Broncos went with the coach and jettisoned a decent QB. The Raiders got rid of Derek Carr, Signed Jimmy G(suschrist) and instead stuck with Josh McDumbfuck. 8 months later, McDaniels was gone, Jimmy was gone, and the Raiders are stuck with Aiden O’Connell and Gardner Minshew.
Denver has the awesome pairing of Jarett Stidham and Ben DiNucci. They have the 12th pick but at that spot, Caleb Williams will be gone, as will Jayden Daniels, Drake Maye, and JJ McCarthy. They may all go 1,2,3,4 based on the teams drafting as the Bears, the Redskins (they are the Redskins again?), the Patriots, and the Vikings all need QBs.
So, Payton needs a franchise QB, and more time to get anywhere as he shot himself in the feet with a machine gun last year. He may very well get canned mis-season just like the hapless McDaniels.
They need to keep BA, and Purdy needs to be looking for him when he has to scramble. When a play is over and the replay pans out, and Purdy was running around 9 time out of 10 Aiuk was open down field, it happened in the SB, on on play BA was in the end zone all by himself.
I have never really paid attention to another teams draft but this year I am going to take a close look at Washington’s. I want to see what Peters does and probably compare ours with theirs. Peters got out of Denver just in time.
As far as BA goes, he’s under contract this year, and we can even franchise tag him next season. If he wants to hold out, then so be it. He’d only be hurting himself in the long run.
He hurts team chemistry too Chuck.
That’s my rub. Money or ring?
If he’s all about the money at the expense of team first, he’s expendable IMO.
He ain’t Jerry.
BA hasn’t been talking trash like TO did. We just have to wait to see how this pans out.
No one is. Saving $$ is fine but you still have to win football games in short window while Purdy is inexpensive.
Can’t blame football players for chasing $$ in time they have. Brutal game, and salary ? always happen when you win and 40 guys want to get paid.
https://www.nbcsports.com/nfl/profootballtalk/rumor-mill/news/report-numerous-teams-inquiring-about-deebo-samuels-availability
For what it’s worth the team already gave Deebo assurances he’s staying this year, no trade.
Let’s get ready to RUMBLE!! Nothing like draft day boys!!I just don’t see a team giving up a 1 pick for BA and the 49ers know they have 2 elite WR’s in Shanny’s offense, the only scenario I see is the 49ers package a 2nd and 4-5 rd pick to move up to the 18-24 pick and grab the best OT available, hopefully Latham. Not even ruling out CenterJason-Powers who’s a mauler with speed and would hold down that spot for a decade..Definitely CB/WR/TE /DL in play along with an RB with many except CMC/Mason?are playing out their options..
all tackles QBs and WRs.
Yeah 4 OTs already. No D guys yet, corners or linemen.
Damn lots of players have had multiple injuries, acl, shoulder. Etc
I wonder if we trade down.
we may go CB
or that? I guess that bodes ill for BA
WR hmm…
I swear they just piss away these top picks.
God I hate them team are you fucking kidding me!!!Grade F
U have CB Dejean,Center Powers, Fuck even WR’s Mitchell from Texas!!
Well there goes Gray.
They know something we don’t. The dude is from AZ first thing came to mind is maybe Purdy knows this guy. Seems like another weapon to me. I’m good with it.
Me too. Ricky can fly and he’s versatile.
Aiyuk is likely to be dealt IMO. We’ll see…
Still waiting on my fat Man 😔
he’s fast. So was Gray.
Pearsall looks great. Long arms, 4.41 speed, 44″ leaper. They said he explodes out of cuts. He makes circus catches. Best thing is this should really help our cap situation when we trade a high priced WR. They do have to think about signing Purdy next year.
The case needs to be made that Lynch should be fired. This wr has 30 7/8 arm length. he cannot get past the line with press man coverage. The fucking cb’s have longer arms.
we keep BA and deebo. another a j Jenkins. WTF. and Purdy has no pass pro. inexcusable
It was only one pick and all the decent oline guys were already taken
Sumataia was there. Guyton was taken a few picks before…in 2nd rd there is Paul and a….. an African name
Pearsall shined against zone coverage .. against press man they will give him bear hugs and laugh
any brown nose journalist bring this out in public. Is Lynch a stupid jock with a nice smile? I hope I am wrong. Nfl slot corners will earn security and raises off Pearsall.
Aiyuk to Pats or NYJ?
Took a long time to get the Pick submitted. I’m guessing they negotiated something ahead of the Ricky selection?
The connection with Aiyuk for Pearsall is Aiyuk was a Senior and Ricky was a freshman before transferring to Florida if that means anything ..
He was he only WR with a sub 6.7 in the 3 cone drill. They say he explodes out of cuts. A 44 vertical and his 3 cone time verifies that he is quick.
They also say that he adjusts to the ball effortlessly. I’m looking forward to seeing him play. I saw some of his circus catches. He’s quite impressive.
Hey, I hope they know something I don’t. Felt the same way about Danny Gray tho.
I had WR third behind O line and CB.
Cooper DeJean would have been my pick.
I have never seen a draft where so many olinemen went in the 1st. All the names that I heard we should have taken were already gone. My guess is they think this guy was the best player left on the board or someone who they are pretty sure will make us better.

I don’t see how Pearsall affects BA, they play different positions. All this stuff about trading BA I just don’t see it and not this year with Deebo but I think next year he’s up for grabs.
Having said that I would have preferred a CB, I was surprised by this pick.
If nothing else Pearsall should immediately take over as the Punt Returner since they don’t have one with Ray Ray McCloud gone.Ricki don’t lose that number has never dropped a Punt Return so that’s encouraging news.
Yeah, a #1 on a PR isn’t quite what the doctor. ordered. They never seem to address CB or O line in ANY of these drafts. ANd I get that a bunch of O linemen went, but Cooper DeJean will be gone real quick in the 2nd round. That woulda been my pick.
I was hoping for an O-lineman but they were mostly gone. Pearsall is smart. He has good instincts. He eats up zone coverage. He adjusts really weel for the ball.

I expect we take care of needs today and get some Oline and DB help. It seems we use the UDFA’s for both Online and DB’s. It’s worked fairly well so far. I still love flashy offensive picks they make me happy. Whether they work out or not you never know. I don’t think we trade today.
Anyway, except for Lance and McGlinchey at least we didn’t pick a DL in the first and that tells me they didn’t think one was better than Pearsall.
