Game Night ! ! ! The Bird is the Word . . .

Sue me, I’m early with this.  Got a busy day at work (yes I have a real job), and I’m watching the World Series, and I’ll probably be on BART when the game starts, so here we go. Taking a look at the handy dandy results on the side of this place, and I see that we haven’t beat the Cards since 2014. The dregs of the the Harbaugh era. The garbage game at the end of that woebegone season.  IOW, a long fucking time.

But that was then, this is now.  Since no one was too keen on my idea of resting some of the starters, I guess we play and hope we come out of this game healthy.  As healthy as one can be after playing 2 games in 5 days. Richard Sherman was very outspoken about these Thursday night games, he blew out his Achilles on a Thursday night, and all the players certainly feel it, but here we are. Playing our 2nd division game. One of 3 in a row. AZ, Sea, AZ GOt to love the schedulers for this anomaly. At least we get Seattle at home.

Thing is, the Cards have the same schedule as the Niners. In other words, fodder.  Yet they are 3-4-1. They beat the Giants, the Falcons, and the Bengals. Seattle, the Ravens, the Saints, and the Panthers have beaten them. They are always tough at their house, and we seem to be cursed against them, but shit, we got this.

33-17 Niners.

Just to follow up from the last thread Chuck…Comp Picks –

    https://tinyurl.com/y4nb3uaw

  2. unca_chuck says:

Ahhhh, so you can get a 3rd round comp pick. Thanks. I thought 4th was the highest.

  3. Winder says:

I truly hope none of our players get hurt since we are still pretty banged up. At the moment I think Colman is our healthy RB. But I REALLY want us to take it to AZ, it has been toooo looong.

  4. unca_chuck says:

Couldn’t believe it was 2014 since we did.

  5. Irish Kevin says:

The Starters want to play to keep the win streak going. The other thing is they are going to have 10 days to rest

  6. unca_chuck says:

Yeah I know. I wouldn’t mind seeing a couple guys sit, though. Just a thought. Plus I think our backups can beat their asses anyway.

  7. NJ49er says:

Take no Division opponents lightly Chuck
    All about the W.
Good test for our D to see a mobile QB.
    Russ and Lamar are coming.

  8. unca_chuck says:

This will be a good test of holding our gaps. What has killed us before is the ability of RW to get free from the initial rush to throw downfield, or get free on a scramble. LB speed is much different this year, and we have a MUCH improved pass rush.

Murray is a good warmup for RW.

I’d be happy with 2-1 out of these next 3 games.

  9. Winder says:

i think by next year we will have the toughest division in football. We might have it already I’m not sure. For some reason AZ has had our # for years now. i don’t Kingsburry(sp) is the coach that Arians is but i wouldn’t take him lightly. We need to crush our division. Like Saleh says ‘all gas no brakes for 60 fucking minutes’.

  10. unca_chuck says:

Yeah but theses Thursday games scare the shit out of me. We are creeping back to getting healthy. It needs to stay that way

    • Winder says:

I don’t even watch Thursday games unless the Niners play. But then i don’t watch much football besides the Niners anymore. To much bullshit with the refs and commercials.

  11. unca_chuck says:

That’s how I am with baseball. The games are like 3-4 hours now. Football games are now faster.

  12. Donalds J.. Trrump says:

My great and unmatched SPACE FORCE must have launched Chuck’s brain into orbit the other day. Not only did he think Thursday Night Football was on Tuesday night (NOT GOOD) but he suggested resting all of the starters in favor of the DO NOTHING third stringers. What he forgot is that playoff seeding is in place and the Green Bay (a town which overwhelmingly voted for me, they love me there, I’m the second coming of Vince Lombardi, believe me) Packers are only one game behind SF for the top seed and Aaron Rodgers (who I have met, he’s a great man, a TREMENDOUS man, a fine quarterback, that I can tell you) and his team still has a head to head game vs. the Niners next month. VERY DISAPPOINTED in Chuck’s ideas to forfeit this game against a division rival. He used to be a savvy 49er fan! SAD!!!

    • unca_chuck says:

Thanks for stopping by Mr. Trump. Call me when you Nancy’s foot out of your ass.

Because the next step is George Washington is gonna shove his dick in your mouth.

  13. Winder says:

hope we can calm it down some that was way to fast

  14. Irish Kevin says:

Damn a divot held up the game? Fucking pussys

  15. Myler Kurry says:

“Plus, I think our backups can beat their asses anyway”

  16. alleykat69 says:

Very frustrating start, horse collar penalty, face mask penalty,Kittle banged up? 7-0 and playing like shit early..
Well theirs a start huge sack, stops the Cards on that drive..

  17. Irish Kevin says:

Looks like they have geared up for the Niner run, time to put Jimmy G to the test, he needs to be tested early not later when they might have to pass

  18. Irish Kevin says:

And they need to be passes of 10 yards or greater, 3rd and 8 and pass a 7 yard pass ain’t going to cut it

  19. Irish Kevin says:

    Kittle!!!!

  20. alleykat69 says:

Kittle unstoppable on that TD pass&run!!

  21. Irish Kevin says:

Good to see the Niners can rely on Jimmy G, 5 for 5 on that drive,

  22. alleykat69 says:

What a fucking break that Kingsbury called a TO before they were stopped short of the goalie. Then they get the 6 on the next play to end the half!
Should of had 6 earlier if it wasn’t for hands of stone Deebo dropping a wide open TD!!

  23. unca_chuck says:

    Kliff Klavin special there!! 21-7!!

  24. Winder says:

i wasn’t sure about the Sanders trade but I am now he was worth it. He’s going up against one of the better DB’s and still getting things done.

  25. unca_chuck says:

Well, Sanders is better than what they currently have on the field. That ain’t much, but, Jesus Deebo, you HAVE to hang on to that pass. The slant was a thing oif beauty. I wish we would run that play more. At least we have a guy that can get open on those.

  26. Winder says:

    Our defense just got punked.

  27. unca_chuck says:

Great pass to Sanders there. Need to get points. Whatever they are.

  28. unca_chuck says:

When teams go no huddle and march down the field, I always wonder they don’t take a timeout and get different personell out there.

    Yeah!!!!!!!!! Fuckin’ A!!!!

  29. unca_chuck says:

Fantastic read by Jimmy G on that one.

  30. unca_chuck says:

Saleh got lucky there. I HATE that defense when they drop guys 20 yards off the line. It doesn’t work.

  31. alleykat69 says:

Just can’t seem to put this team away!!

  32. Irish Kevin says:

They need to score. TD here, none of this conservative run shit

  33. unca_chuck says:

That screen woulda got 20. We run on 1st down 99% of the time.

  34. alleykat69 says:

They sure have to cleanup these drops by the receivers and RB! Jimmy stats would be off the charts without them..

  35. unca_chuck says:

I sure would like to see us go play action more on 1st down.

  36. unca_chuck says:

D needs to come up with something here. We were too far off the line that last drive.

  37. Grumpy Guy says:

Someone on defense needs to put this game away.

  38. Grumpy Guy says:

    Well that wasn’t it.

  39. Irish Kevin says:

See, this is why screens suck when you need to throw the ball down the field, now they cannot be conservative, go get the win!!!

  40. Irish Kevin says:

We are going to lose, quit fucking running the ball

  41. Irish Kevin says:

Of course the receiver has to catch the ball

  42. Irish Kevin says:

    Good pass good catch

  43. Irish Kevin says:

They still need to score here

  44. unca_chuck says:

We just need to run the clock out. they’d better not change this call.

  45. unca_chuck says:

Gutsy 3rd down run. Told my son they were gonna run. And they got it. Juuuuust enough.

  46. unca_chuck says:

Now go play action deep. Shanny needs to dial more that runs up the gut.

  47. Irish Kevin says:

If they don’t get a 1st down here there will be too much time on the clock, AZ last TB took less than 2 mins

  48. Irish Kevin says:

    Yikes false start

  49. Irish Kevin says:

    8 and 0 a thing of beauty

  50. Grumpy Guy says:

Smart play by Jimmy and Dwelley to finish it.

  51. alleykat69 says:

They dont always have to look good but when you end up 8-0 that’s all that matters!
Really a tremendous game for Jimmy G , showed a lot of pocket presence and delivered in the clutch!!!

  52. unca_chuck says:

Yeah, this one is on Jimmy for making the plays he needed to. Even with the drops that could have killed a couple drives. Hell of a game. Kyler Murray is gonna be a pain in the ass for a while.

    • Winder says:

Jimmy played his best game as a Niner tonight. Those timing passes were a thing of beauty. And the one to Deebo was perfect even though it was dropped. Jimmy showed some real touch.

  53. unca_chuck says:

Sanders is a godsend. He’s done so much in these 2 games.

  54. Winder says:

At least we finally beat those assholes. Saleh better hit the film room. We let a mediocre rb kill us tonight. They are gonna have to put someone to shadow murray in two weeks the guy is dangerous he is just too fast.

  55. Irish Kevin says:

The only stat I don’t like is AZ scored 11 points in the 4th Q, 49ers scored 0, not good!

  56. Irish Kevin says:

Next 3 games ar home, let’s hope home field advantage is just that!!

  57. Irish Kevin says:

Saleh had better figure out how to handle a scrambling QB, A Rodgers will be a handful

  58. unca_chuck says:

Not to mention Russell Wilson. Yeah, we seemed soft on defense tonight. AZ did a lot of no-huddle that stopped our subbing out and we got burnt for 2 long TD drives. Then the big play late. That being said, we didn’t stop the run well at all either. Strange game.

NFC West looking like the real deal.

    • Winder says:

Murray showed that he is as slippery as a fish and just as fast. A lot of those plays looked a lot like the college game. He showed he is most dangerous on his play action roll outs. Defenses should figure it out sooner or later like they did with Kap. He ran through our defense without being touched a few times.

  59. Winder says:

We may have lost Kwon for a significant amount of time with a chest injury. That was a big reason AZ moved the ball so well on that 88 yard TD they had. Hopefully it’s not a season ender

  60. unca_chuck says:

    Didn’t hear that.

  61. unca_chuck says:

He said he has a pretty good range of motion so hopefully he ain’t out for the year.

  62. Winder says:

49ers LB Kwon Alexander will undergo an MRI on his injured chest Friday.
Alexander suffered his chest injury in Thursday night’s win at Arizona. Per beat reporter Matt Maiocco of NBC Sports Bay Area, the 49ers have “some of level of optimism” as to Alexander’s status. Maiocco also noted that Alexander’s “range of motion” didn’t appear to be impeded by his injury. The ex-Buccaneer has impressed in his debut season as a Niner, totaling 34 tackles over 357 defensive snaps while garnering PFF’s top coverage grade among 4-3 outside linebackers.

    New thread is up.
