OTAs. OTAs? OTAs!

Nothing much going on. And the hope is nothing else goes on. The WR corps remains fairly decimated, but the good news is Kyle Williams, Mario Manningham, and Kendall Hunter are at least on the practice field, while the rest of the walking wounded are taking things slow. The list is lengthy, but not a concern at this point. Justin Smith, Aldon Smith, Mario Manningham, the aforementioned KW and K Hunter are all taking things easy, but are getting in some practice time.

The rookies are saying the right things. Both Eric Reid and Quinton Patton are doing all they can to make an immediate impact and are (apparently) soaking in all their vet brethren can impart to them. Whether they are named starters remains to be seen, but either one could very well crack the roster. Much maligned (around here, Dennis) free safety Craig Dahl is doing well so far, but we’ll have to wait and see how that competition develops over the real training camp.

Other than that, here’s a cool little drone flyby over the new stadium.

Enjoy.

Pretty nifty little video. If Craig Dahl never steps foot inside of Levi’s Stadium its value will increase tenfold.

Tough to beat the excitement of a Game 7 hockey playoff. Sharks vs Kings just underway. My rallying cry in football works just as well when they play on ice…HIT SOMEBODY!!!

And I’d be very leery of these reports that Dahl is “doing well” and “looking good.”

Dahl is doing well. Translation: he doesn’t have Yellow fever or Lyme disease.
Dahl is looking good. Translation: his uniform is cleaned and press and he wears matching socks.

I’m sure the new stadium will be nice. That pic and eventually my TV screen is about as close as I’ll ever get.

How’s the reception in the van?

How the hell did it get to be June already? Next thing you know the fat man will be sliding down chimney once again. So allow me to be the first, I usually am, to wish you all a Merry Christmas.

49ers officially hire Eric Mangini to become their “senior offensive consultant.” Sounds kind of weird that a guy with his expansive defensive background would be hired as an offensive consultant. The feeling is he’ll help the offense by studying and evaluating it from a defensive prospective.

At least I don’t have to watch and listen to his drab and dreary ass on ESPN any more. Coach wasn’t the most ebullient TV personality to hit the airwaves.

Not a bad idea to hire a consultant to trouble-shoot our new offensive schemes from a defensive point of view but maybe they could have chosen a less vindictive sort of a sell-out risk.
